In their ship, Terenia and Efaen are engaged in a verbal and mental battle.

"I don't want to call him!" Terenia cries out loud, looking rather unhappy.

<<You must, unless you wish for us to die upon return.>>

"I don't want to go back!"

<<Stop whining, you insufferable child. You have no choice. If you want me, you will return.>>

"There has to be some other way..."

<<Find a way to return to active duty on a Dome Ship,>> Efaen sneers, <<Even Ossanlin would not accept a Yeerk among his ranks. Besides, putting my body on the front lines after betraying Visser Three? It would be a foolish move. No, it would never work. Either we return to the Blade Ship and work covertly or we part ways.>>

"But...the rebellion...?" Terenia asks hopefully.

<<I will have no part in this supposed Yeerk rebellion,>> Efaen hisses, her thoughts dark, <<You expect me to live my days underground, surrounded by Yeerk vermin? Possibly working against the very cause that I'm fighting?>>

"You are impossible!" Terenia cries, pulling herself from her slumped position on the floor and beginning to pace the small diameter of the ship erratically. After a few minutes of brooding she announces, "I need to speak with Corliss. He'll have an answer."

<<You should not leave. You are unprotected.>>

"I have two Dracon Beams and a tail, if I so choose. Keshin could be dead now, for all I know. My sister is weaponless and without her bounty hunter. The only one I have to worry about is that human that helped Keshin. I'll just have to avoid him."

<<Do not leave.>>

"Who's going to stop me?" Terenia mutters darkly, closing Efaen off best that she can. She opens the hatch and steps back out into the night, ignoring Efaen's protests.

Myitt sneers at Salem.  "No, thank you, I'd rather not," she says, still idly following them towards the bar.  "I can prove to you that your little five-minute-friend is still alive, as long as Keshin is awake and hasn't died from his host's peculiarities.  If not, you'll just have to take our word for it."

She takes out the little flat, black square that is typical of older model Yeerkish communications link devices, and taps at a number of icons that appear, glowing green, in mid-air.

"Corliss?" she says into the little machine.  "Are you there?  Salem would like to speak to his best friend Keshin, if that's at all possible."

There's a moment's delay, and then Corliss' voice returns.

"Well, I reckon he's kicking me out of his ship, no thanks for saving his life," he says dryly.  "So Salem will have to be rather quick about it."

On the other end, Corliss grins at Keshin and offers him the link.  "Say hello to your mate, then," he says, waving his comm link a bit.

(Sorry, guys. Didn't mean to die again.)

Gaz was checking out the hallway and said, "We must be getting close."

Suddenly, Gaz paused and hissed, "I hear someone coming from the other way. Watch it."

Walking down from the other direction was none other than Desmond himself. He was aiming for the corridor that Gaz had been peering down not long before. He went up to a room with a couple of soldiers out front and entered.

"That has to be it," Gaz said, "why else would Desmond be going in?"

"There could be other reasons, but it's worth checking out anyway." Temrash said quietly. He pulled out a rifle in one hand, and a stun grenade in the other. He looked to Parker, and gave a nod that he was ready.

"It's all I've got right now," Gaz said, "I mean...Desmond's been after Morgan and the others for a long time. I'm betting he's going to check on them often. Personally. He doesn't do things halfway."

Gaz double checked her gun and looked at the others to see if they were ready. She wasn't sure what to expect when they went into that room. She couldn't begin to guess what Morgan, Fletcher and Asda had been undergoing since they were taken.

((Yay, she's back.))

Parker nodded, "Okay, We have four guards. They still don't know we're here. Temrash, you get one on the left, Gaz, you get the other on the left; I'll get the two on the right. Gaz, on your count." He deactivated his Energy Sword and removed his Battle Rifle. He kicked off the safety and awaited Gaz's order.

"Got it." Temrash said, and readied his weapon. "On 3. 1...2...3." He said, and made his shot. He went for a body shot, but the pull of the gun made it veer up. Fortunately it hit the guy in the neck, and he fell down motionless. It must have severed his spinal chord, so he was paralyzed and would suffocate. He kept his gun up in case anyone else missed their shot.

Cody was tempted to not leave the ship. He didn't want to go back into the bar and sit, but he knew he'd be in less trouble with the Empire if he brought Sukohn with him on his return. Claxter made for the hatch, but looked back with his stalk eyes to make sure cody was coming. Cody petted Bear as a means to stall.

Terenia isn't exactly sure where Corliss took Keshin. She assumes that the bounty hunter has a Bug of her own, although in all reality she could have any sort of ship. Still in human form, Terenia wanders through the ship graveyard, searching for signs of activity.

Suddenly a dark shape flits overhead. Startled, Terenia looks up to see a descending Bug. She backs up, hiding behind what looks like an out of date Z-Space Engine. Peering around the edge of the engine she watches as the hatch opens. Her hopes diminish when she makes out the figure of an Andalite stepping out of the ship. It is only that buffoon, Claxter.

"No dice," she says from her hiding spot with a sigh.

Claxter spotted a Human in the distance with his stalk eyes that could be Tamora or Terenia. He wasn't sure which, but if it was Terenia he'd like to be near her for protection. If it was Tamora, he should probably keep an eye on her anyway.

<Hey!> He called to see how she'd react. Though honestly neither one of them actually liked him. Cody followed along as well. Cody was still in the bug, so he was torn between walking over, and staying by the untrustworthy Human. He took a few steps towards her, which was just enough to be away from the ramp.

On impulse, cody decided to close the hatch. Right now he really wanted to be away from any guards, though it might cause trouble later. By the time Claxter noticed, the hatch was too small to leap through without risking being cut in half.

<Cody! Open that door!>

"No." Cody said, though Claxter couldn't hear him. He reclined in the seat and continued petting Bear.

Terenia jerks when the Andalite calls his name.

"Damn," she mutters, stepping out from her hiding spot. And that's why you don't try to hide from someone with four eyes... she thinks to herself. She leans against the broken engine, crossing her arms as she addresses the Andalite. Her distaste for the warrior is clearly written on her face.

"What d'you want, blue boy?" she asks.

As Cody petted me my eyes started to close. That was one of the reasons I usually like humans better than aliens. Humans know how to pet dogs. Claxter seemmed impatient to go so I guessed we should even though Cody didn't move. When Cody closed the door on Claxter I ****ed my head. Claxter was nice for an andalite.

Claxter wasn't really sure what to say to Terenia. It would be easier to lock Tamora up than watch Terenia all the time, as she was the only one who wanted terenia dead. Though he also sympathized with tamora, and felt it would be mean to lock her up for what was most likely justified hatred.

<You should not be alone.> Claxter said, stepping away from the door. <I know that Prince Ossanlin let you go off by yourself, but I still feel uneasy about you being alone. I care for Efaen, and I would also like to see you safe as well. You're not completely abhorrent to be around.> He said. That was about the closest he could come to an honest compliment.

Cody noticed Bear was looking at him. "What? I don't much like Andalites. Sure he's not horrible, but that's just because he's such a wimp. So what's your story, anyway?"

Keshin blinks and takes the comm-link from Corliss quickly. He then speaks into it, his voice taking on an urgent tone. "Salem? Salem, it's us. Keshin and Joanne. We seem to be..." Keshin turns to Corliss and raises an eyebrow. "...okay for the moment. The rebels saved our butts...probably on your direction, of course. I..."

Keshin begins to phrase what he's about to say carefully. It has been a long time since he has felt this sort of thing toward another person. Perhaps he never has. "...I want to thank you for saving my life. Whenever you figure out the logistics...we're totally on for that mission of yours. For free if you want, though we'd prefer certain spoils from...well, from where you told us we'd be going. Do you copy?"
