Salem continued to try to lift Joanne, in spite of Terenia's Dracon all but pointed at him now. He finally managed to get his arms under her body and, with a struggle, lift it into the chair. She was basically dead weight at this point. He still didn't say anything. He was hoping one of Terenia's friends could dissuade her from firing. If he wasn't practically in his ship, he'd use one of his little EM devices, but he didn't want to risk damaging the craft, or harming Al. He didn't have time to try to talk Terenia down, and she had no reason to listen to him. She didn't know him.
On the other hand, he'd learned a bit about her by listening to Keshin and Temrash talk about her. Funny how easy it was to pick her out of a crowd. He wondered if he could use that to his advantage. If there was one thing he'd picked up from Al over the years, it was a flair for the dramatic. A plan was beginning to form in his brain.
<<Al, when I say go, can you thought-flood the loud sassy chick with the gun? One second burst, then let up.>>
<<Aye aye, captain,>> Al responded, sounding incredibly bored with the whole situation.
