Corliss stops short at the foot of the strange ship's ramp, staring around at the situation.

Tora?  Was that Tora in there?  He slowly lowers his Dracon.

"Keshin," Corliss calls out. "Think this one through.  We've still got medicine for you on the way, remember?  Don't be a fool, put the weapon down!"

---

Myitt's gaze flickers from person to person as they debate how good their aim is.  She swallows, really disliking how shaky Keshin is when Keshin is the one with his finger on the trigger of the weapon to her head.

<Myitt, listen...um.  If this is goodbye,> Tara says faintly.

<It's not,> Myitt snaps, but instantly relents.  <You don't have to say anything.  I know.  We'll get through this.>

<Yeah, well.  If we don't, it's been...>

<Yes it has,> Myitt says firmly, radiating all the things that go beyond words between her and her human friend.

"Excuse me," Myitt says aloud, wincing.  "Keshin.  If you would be so kind as to release my host, I think we can...I think we can reach an agreement here.  Think about Joanne, do you really want her to suffer any more than she has to?"

"I say it doesn't matter, as long as we get them back." Silver said from her spot in the floor. Her hands were bunched into fists in her lap as she thought.

Salem had grinned at Ossanlin and been about to respond when Myitt had pulled out her scanner and discovered Keshin. He'd frowned and stuck his tongue in his cheek, trying to think of a way to bull**** this one, or at least get Keshin off the ship, but Keshin had charged Myitt and wrestled her Dracon away. It was odd, seeing what appeared to be Al holding a gun to someone's head. The real Al was very nonviolent. It had been a point of contention between him and Salem in the past, but Salem had come to accept it.

Salem leaned back as the scene unfolded. It appeared Keshin did better on his own. He spoke with the real Al in the ship's computer system.

<<Hey, Al, do you think you could target the...>> he paused, glancing around and counting how many people were now near the ship. Two others had just run up. <<Six people here who are after Keshin with the thought-speak communicator?>>

<<Hey! Forgot about this thing,>> Al said, mock-excitedly. <<Umm... yeah, I think I could. What've you got in mind?>>

<<Sentient minds don't do well when overstimulated. Could you use it to send an overload of noise and images straight into their brains?>>

<<Are you kidding? That's almost like what I was built to do. Only, y'know, you're using it for evil.>>

Salem rolled his eyes. <<Be ready.>>

<<With you around, dude? Always am.>>

When Ossanlin leveled the Shredder at him, Salem narrowed his eyes at Ossanlin. He was liking this Andalite less and less. He wondered if it was just nostalgia for his old War Prince that had made him try to save his life. He was starting to regret it. I just hope you're as useful to me as I need you to be, he thought, looking at Ossanlin. He elected to react only by smirking at Ossanlin, then leaning against the wall and beginning to clean his fingernails. He was feeling surprisingly calm, considering he now had the enemy aboard his own ship. It was just another day of pushy aliens pointing guns at his head. It was easy for him to give the outward impression of being infuriatingly unconcerned. He'd found that the paranoia it instilled in his foes had a profound effect on negotiations. He wasn't going to have Al use his thought-speak ambush unless it looked like Keshin had no other options left.

He thought-spoke to Keshin and Joanne, <<Strength. You can do this, my friends. Strength. Al and I are with you all the way.>> He did his best to will some of the calm he was feeling towards them. The transmission of emotions was something very few Andalites he'd known had ever used on him, and he wasn't sure his thought-speak chip was even capable of it, but he thought he'd try. His head was killing him, but he pushed aside his concerns. He'd deal with that later.

Keshin watches Corliss and Myitt, listening to what they have to say very carefully. They're mostly right, of course. At the moment, his own stash of medicine is actually all that he wants. And if Corliss is still willing to play ball, in the end he does not really need to shoot Myitt. But that isn't really the problem he's having.

Keshin takes in a deep breath before speaking. "Listen. It is you who has chosen to attack me. I try to kill a girl no one really cares about and suddenly this entire place...wants me dead. Hadrin...wasn't even on my list. He was trying to stop me from getting on Salem's ship alive...so I shot back at him. If you speak the truth about the medicine and are willing...to get Joanne to my ship...then I do not care about anything else. Understand?"

"You tried to kill a girl I care about," Corliss snaps at Keshin.  "And frankly, I'm not surprised Hadrin was trying to kill you."

"Corliss," Myitt calls out hoarsely.  "You might want to...you know...stop provoking him?"

"Listen to me, everyone," says Corliss desperately, looking around at the barrage of drawn weapons.  "I reckon we can all be reasonable, here.  Just let the bounty hunter get what he needs and get the hell out of here.  Myitt, we can deal with him another day."

"Yes, I hope we can," Myitt mutters.  She waits, semi-frozen, for either Keshin to let them go...or for someone to shoot.

(I'm waiting for Parker or Oss to post something regarding the Mirage.)

"I'd like you to remain with Silver." Temrash told Dara. "She has a useful ability, but it tends to drain her. Just make sure she doesn't fall into enemy hands in a moment of weakness or distraction."

Keshin quietly thinks the situation over. In the past, the rebels have been fairly truthful in their statements toward him. Sure, they've both backstabbed each other a few times. But overall the group has not been off the mark. But on the other hand, there's no way he's disarming himself while surrounded by people who want to kill him. While this is going through his mind, Salem's message comes across loud and clear. Keshin smiles at him and straightens up slightly. This is not the best presentation he's ever had.

<Kess...I hurt bad. We need to go home, man...sleep...>

<Just stay awake a little longer, Joanne. Please.>

Keshin then slowly lets go of Myitt and backs away from her a bit, but still holds the Dracon. "...okay, Corliss. We'll play. But we're keeping the Dracon until we get back. No sense being stupid and letting one of you shoot us. You can...follow us if you really want it that bad. We won't shoot you with it if you...don't shoot us. After all, what are frenemies for?"

She couldn't argue there. As much as it angered her her powers were both a blessing and a curse. They helped tremendously and then drained her to the point of failing. She'd never forget how she almost didn't get away because she had been so weak. She had to practice more or her weakness would be her downfall, not only for herself but the others too.

Tora visibly slumps with relief as Keshin releases Myitt. Immediately, she steps forward to seize her friend's arm and tug her away from the bounty hunter, as if worried he might change his mind and try to snatch her back again.

<<Thank you,>> she says to Corliss. <<Now we just have to make sure these trigger-happy Andalites don't ruin our tenuous truce.>>

She turns her eyes on Myitt, searching for any bruising or permanent damage from the incident. "Are you alright?"

...well, Dezzie doesn't know that Charlotte here can morph... I wonder what he thought about those Spinosaurus. I'm really doubting he jumped to the conclusion that Charlie and Riley were the dinosaurs, but I guess there's that tiny possibility." Lennan held his fingers about a half-inch apart.

Charlotte looked up and said, "Yeah. He shouldn't know that. And he really shouldn't know that I can morph him. Our squad has been jumping from universe to universe for a while longer than he has. I don't think he even knows that kind of technology exists. We shook hands when we met... I think that he figured the drowsiness was just my feminine charm." (((okay, that's really weird to write as a guy... :-\)))Charlotte smiled, and the others looked at her with an expression of mixed impression and surprise.

"Well, it might have been nice to have known that before..." Lennan muttered.

"Mr. Battle Tank here is right, guys." Carson commented. "Desmond probably saw you morph, Charlie. There's that slightest chance he didn't see you demorphing back by the trees, but we shouldn't base our plans on that. And to answer your question, sir, we can move freely with our weapons. They're also pretty handy for bustin' holes in things and shoving people out of the way. Except for you, of course.... These guns did come from Desmond, so they'll know what to expect."

"If he doesn't kniw you can morph then it may be best to keep it under wraps unless it is truly needed. He knows my power but he doesn't know what I can and can't do. He knows I can do things as powerful as Black Fear.....but not for long. If I pull another one that big too soon I could be done in......and he knows it." She said with a little bit of a winded breath. She was getting there....slowly.

((I was hoping that Ossanlin would post something regarding his ship's defenses; but I can post a little more detail without powergaming. Ossy, you're gonna need to post your ships reaction after this one though.

Gaz hasn't RP'd that they've taken off yet; us, or the main ship.))

When the soldier called "Carson" called him "sir", Parker felt a little at ease. He regained a bit of the stature he used to carry when he was in command of companies of men. He had been surrounded by non-military personnel for too long. It was good to be alongside real soldiers again; even if they couldn't be trusted as of yet.

Parker replied, "He may know what to expect from you, but that won't matter as long as you have your shields up. We'll need you mostly for cover. I'm sure you guys can do some real damage, but if it gets too heavy, I need to know Silver will be alright."

The Director found the entryway rather easily. Now the more complicated part. Analyzing the door controls. He began to scan around the doorway to find the controls that opened it. The screwdriver's whining tone increased as he scanned further into the ship. Apparently this door wasn't on hinges, but actually "melted" together with the ship. So that means the ship's computer controls the doorway. He snagged onto a data cord in the wall and began trying to hack into the computer system. The screwdriver's tone increased again signifying the high level of power being used.

Thordon nodded to the young man as he departed toward the restrooms. He approached the bar and the BT handed him a water as he sat down. He smiled to the BT, but he only got a dead-pan look back. He stared into nothing as he contimplated how to get home. Who could he ask to help him create a portal? There were very few truly powerful beings present with high levels of replentishable Energies. There was the Andalite that could bend Space and Time, there was the strange dark creature, Mar, but he'd been looking oddly drained as of late. The woman with the Energy discharge may be of some help, but according to her, it could kill her if she activated it. Unless he could feed off of that Energy without her having to activate anything; but that might still not work. There are plenty of ships around with power cells, but those only hold a limited amount of Energy, and they'd be disabled after the transferrence.

Thordon just couldn't think of any feasible way getting home. Not unless Ossanlin and Mar would be able to willing to help even though they'd be temporarily drained. Those are the only two that might be able regain their Energies naturally. Of course a good rest would allow anyone to regain their Energy, but with the Energy required, a normal human would need to sleep for quite some time. With each avenue closing to him, Thordon became more and more depressed. Flashes of his love danced around in his head. The thought of never seeing her again began to tear at his heart. He sat at the bar with his forehead resting on the counter, his top arms held out, holding his water, and his bottom arms holding his churning stomach.

Silver heard how they all wanted to make sure she was protected. She bit her lip in thought. "I feel like I keep getting in the way, now." she said as she thought about things a little more and realized she had caused a lot of trouble in the past.

(Sorry, I had implied that they took off, but guess I didn't out right say it. They've taken off. lol)

Gaz pocketed her comm device and said, "We're catching up to the CG ship. Should be ready to launch the shuttle in just a moment. Hope everyone is armed and ready. Just in case. This isn't going to be easy. I've heard of this Desmond, and he's a tough one."
