((Haha. Sorry, Tara. It's been a busy day >.<))

Salem looked to the eyes of each of those surrounding him. The War Prince was not dumb, obviously.

He shook his head. No sense in lying, though they didn't have to know the whole truth. "I've spent the last few years on the Andalite homeworld. I've been acting as a... consultant to the government there. Living and working at the academy." He shrugged, "I guess I've picked up a few things."

He switched to thought speak, which he directed only at Ossanlin <<Like this technology your people recently developed,>> he now switched back to verbal speech. "And the fact that you shouldn't leave a War Prince dying after you've maimed him with a ship. Honor, I guess, you'd call it." He looked Ossanlin in the main eyes. "That was an accident, Andalite, and I apologize. Have to give you credit. Even most Andalites don't think they're capable of taking on interstellar spacecraft in slap fights. I am glad you seem well," he said, finishing with another bow.

He now looked at Myitt. "You gonna search me or take my word for it that I don't have your bounty hunter?"

((I know, I'm saying it could be deadlocked. I'm not asking for your permission to power game, I'm asking if you think that Andalite tech would be able to deadlock Time Lord tech.

He's still gonna try. Ossy, you should have some of those security protocols kick in and trap us or something. That'd be awesome.))

Ossanlin's words spoken to her only made Alic feel more confident in the place she stood. She was defending those she held close to her hearts, and was proud to stand in harm's way, at least for now.
<You fool no one,> she said to Salem. <We know you're hiding him here, and it would do you best to give it up.> She was bluffing, as far as she knew. No one really knew that the one who they were looking for was really aboard his ship. But there were four of them, and at least one of him. She hoped he would give away something.

Tora's eyes slowly narrow. <<A consultant to the Andalite government? Just who is this man, that a people as proud as they would accept advice and help from him?>> she murmurs to Myitt. Her gaze passes over the man beside Salem, who is saying nothing, and then into the ship, itself. Its interior is nearly as intriguing as the exterior, and she takes a step towards it, Dracon raising in self-defense. <<I will initiate the search, if you wish to continue questioning Salem and guarding the ramp,>> she adds to her friend, glancing back towards her for a sign of acknowledgement.

Light glints off Alic's raised tailblade behind Myitt, and she abruptly remembers that she is currently lacking a physiological defense system. She is tempted to demorph, but she is in the presence of two Andalites. Her grip on her Dracon tightens further, while her other hand fishes around her jeans pocket for anything that might count as an additional weapon. It comes away with nothing but lint.

<<Perhaps it would be prudent,>> she reluctantly tells Myitt, <<for one of the others to accompany me. Just in case.>>

"That sounds really dangerous," Elayne murmurs. She hesitates a moment, then adds, "Will you know it when she... when she dies?"

They have nearly reached her ship by now; the hull is still open from when she ran out of it at hearing the sounds of combat that had started all of this. The bed must still be unmade and a mess, she realizes, biting her bottom lip. She had not bothered to change out of her filthy clothes before resting the last time. Still, she tells herself, it's got to be better than the beds at the Bar, if there are any.

Terenia growls a little in her throat as Corliss takes off. She is tempted to keep stalking in the opposite direction, but her own curiosity gets the better of her and she scurries to catch up to him.

"I knew where I was going," she insists, shaking some of the drying mud from her hands.

---

"Oh," Trey says a bit faintly, trying to take in just how much had happened since he disappeared in his ship. "Where is Elayne? Did she go with any of them? I need to talk to her..."

---

Tamora followed Cody to the ship, feeling incredibly out of place in her Imperial uniform.

"You know...I'm like a spotlight out here," she says quietly as she reaches Ossanlin's ship. "I don't suppose any of you have access to more inobtrusive clothing? It's easy enough for them to tell me from Teresa right now, what with my assigned outfit that basically screams Yeerk Supporter and all. Not the best way to hide." She glances up at The Mirage hopefully, "Maybe we'll be lucky and it won't matter, but if I'm stuck here I'd rather not stick out."

((Hmm, not much for Keshin to do given that he's trying to stay incognito. And Salem told him he'd be doing all the talking. Awww. :P ))

"The bounty hunter?" states Mar with a quizzical look on his face. He then shakes his head. "No, no. I have not taken their auras to memory. I would know someone had died, but would have no details. Though given that I am the only being in command of entropy on the Bar, I would be compelled to assist whomever had died."

Mar gulps uncomfortably. "...I would know if Myitt or Ossanlin perished, however. I can only hope it does not come to that."

Mar glances into the dark open doorway of Elayne's ship. "Shall we go inside, pet?"

"I could dig out some spare clothing and a dracon beam out of Sukohn's ship. That is if we can't get inside this ship and get Sukohn. If we can, then we won't need to stay here anyway." cody said. He looked at the Director. "Here she is. What do you think?"

The Director approaches the two next to the ship he looks it over and smiles slightly, "Ah, she's a beaut. I've seen her before. When I first came here." He looked to Tamora, "Who's Teresa? I've got a wardrobe in my ship if ya like. But as Cody here mentioned, if we can get inside, it won't matter any."

He looked at the sheen metal and approached where the ship's ramp should be. He removed his sonic screwdriver, activated it, and began scannning for the non-visible outline of the door.

Thordon shook his head, "The last I 'saw', she and Mar were heading toward this establishment. Perhaps something tore them away."

Salem watched Tora carefully. So far, he thought he understood Myitt, as well as the two Andalites here. He was now pretty sure that neither of them was a Yeerk. He wasn't entirely sure of the other woman, though. She hadn't said a word, and she seemed especially paranoid, constantly looking over her shoulder and cradling her weapon. He wasn't sure if she was just nervous, or if she was smarter than the rest of them. Maybe she knew something he didn't. Something about her sent a chill down his spine.

When Alic spoke, Salem's heart skipped a beat. He was sure they had no idea of what was going on, but for some reason, her words still got to him. Something about her, though...

"You're welcome to come find him wherever he's hiding," he said to her, stepping aside from the door and making a gesture welcoming her into the ship. "Have I met you before, Andalite? Or do you have a sibling at the academy, maybe? You look so familiar..."

I trotted out  door behnd the humans and kept my distance as I followed them. I want to see what they were do. I kept relaxed, tongue lolled and tail up. I hoped I looked like I was just wandering. I sat down and scratched my ear when they stopped. Then I perked my ears up to listen.

((Uhhh.  Yeah, sorry for yelling last night, heheh.   I was a leeettle drunk. >.<))

Corliss glances back at Terenia, pausing while he pushes a big branch aside.

"Oh, yeah?" he asks coyly.  "You were so convincing."

<Let her go first, mate.  Christ, it's like babysitting,> Mike scowls.

<What?>

<The branch.  Ladies first, I dunno.  It's been a long time since I've done this stuff,> Mike says off-handedly.

Corliss clears his throat.  "Why don't you go ahead first?" he says awkwardly.  "Of course, I don't mean that you should get shot at first.  I just...you should..."

His shoulders slump and he pulls back the big branch, frowning at the ground.

---

Myitt looks up at Tora.  No one else has responded to Tora's request for assistance, and besides, better to leave the other two Andalites out here.  She knew very little about the subtle nuances of Andalite society, at least not enough to catch if Salem was lying.

<We're going inside the ship?> Tara suddenly realizes.  <Inside the ship.  Okay, we are,> she adds as her feet start moving.

Myitt walks up the metal ramp, meeting Tora's gaze.

"What, leave you alone in there with a bounty hunter?" she says with a smirk.  "What galaxy do you think I'm from?"  Her hand is gripping onto the butt of her Dracon so tightly her knuckles are white.

She brushes past Salem, deliberately ignoring him, and nods at Al.

"Who are you?" she demands, before glancing around the ship, hoping for any obvious signs of well-hidden panels or contraband storage.

"Teresa." Tamora says emphatically, "You know, my evil twin sister? For some stupid reason she insists on using the name Terenia. I'm sure it's her way of pretending that her real family never existed or something." She scowls, clearly unhappy with the subject. It is a facial expression that truly makes her indiscernable from her sister, and it quickly fades when The Director takes out his device.

"Will that thing work?"

----

"Huh." Trey repeats, looking a bit deflated. He had hoped Elayne would still be here, enraptured by the strange and somewhat creepy man that she chose to spend her time with. Clearly they had other plans.

"That's all right," he says, a sting of pain from his chest wound bringing him back to the present. He glanced down at his uniform. There was a neat slice from his hip up to the collar - not the most fashionable look in the world, especially considering the bright red blood that was oozing from a shallow gash. "I guess I should go clean up, huh?"

----

Terenia looks from Corliss to the branch suspiciously, wondering what sort of game he's playing. Why would he ask her to go first?

<<I believe he is being polite, Terenia.>> Efaen says dryly.

<<Unless he's going to hit me with it. Or just wants to make sure he's behind me.>> Her hand trails to her Dracon Beam instinctively.

<<It seems as though this is merely another phase in the human mating ritual.>> Efaen continues offhandedly. Her thoughts cause Terenia's eyes to go wide and her face to flush.

<<I'm not - he's not....he's just being polite, dammit! Or trying to trick me. Something. Not...we're not that!>>

Terenia drops her gaze to the ground and hurries forward, refusing to meet Corliss' eyes.

<<Corliss isn't even human,>> Terenia says defiantly, as though that settles the matter.

Corliss sidles around the branch and hurries after Terenia.

<This is ridiculously complicated,> Corliss complains.

Mike laughs.  <No one's forcing you, you know.>

Corliss' silence makes Mike add, <Oh, you aren't seriously blaming this on me?  So you like the girl.  So what?>

<You're the one with the body biologically predisposed to being attracted to her,> Corliss grumbles.

<She's a Yeerk, too, remember?>

<Yes, but it's not the same,> Corliss rationalizes, tromping along through the woods in silence.  <She's human, really.  And barely more than a human child, at least mentally.>

<See, now that's something you rather should not say out loud,> Mike lectures.  <It won't go over well.>

Corliss swallows hard and hurries to walk along next to Terenia.

"I reckon they're up ahead, see the clearing?" he says hopefully, squinting through the trees.  "It's so easy to get turned round in here."
