((Fine, I'll post for Mar. It might move the story along, though not really. But first off, what ship IS Ossanlin on anyway?))

Mar grins as he notes the ship Elayne pointed out. Definitely not that one. He highly doubted that the rebels would take his friend onboard such a decrepit-looking ship. But that still left the question of what ship Ossanlin was actually on up in the air.

"Let me try and narrow down the search," Mar muttered to Elayne. He then closed his eyes in an attempt to sharpen his aura-sense, looking for a Light-touched aura strong enough to be that of his friend. The process is irritatingly difficult, but there is no other way he can think of for the two of them to locate Ossanlin.

((Fiiinally!  And Kelly, Ossanlin, Terenia and Corliss are on the Mirage.))

Corliss frowns at Ossanlin, helping him stand on wobbly human legs.

He's remained quiet while Terenia and Ossanlin spoke, and felt strangely out of place when tears started down Terenia's cheeks again.

"Come 'ead," he says quietly to Ossanlin.  "I reckon we've all had a bad time.  Let's go back to the bar, shall we?  And I wonder where Myitt's gone off to.  I'm worried about her, mate, she's got some sort of vendetta against Keshin for killing Hadrin and causing all this trouble."  He glances at the hatchway.  "Last I saw of your weapons, they were outside.  Must've fallen off when you morphed.  I am glad you're all right, Ossanlin, for what it's worth."

---

Myitt leads Alic and Tora to Temrash's ship, using the standard Imperial code to unlock the hatch.  The living metal hull melts open and the metallic ramp shoomps out of the threshold, settling gently against the ground.

"Well, that was easy," Myitt murmurs, stepping up into the ship.  She immediately heads for the controls, powering up the main engines and entering the signal passcode that Temrash had given them.

The key to finding Salem's ship.

Elayne nods and rests her weight on one leg, idly gazing about the shipyard as she waits for Mar. There appears to be a bit of movement on the other side of the yard, but she can't make out much else from this distance, especially considering the number of obstructions to her view. Why would someone hurt Ossanlin? she finds herself wondering. His views are unorthodox, but he is well-liked here. You'd have to be stupid, or really brave. Perhaps it has something to do with whatever had happened on his recent trip to Earth with Myitt and the others; it had certainly left everyone in a sour mood.

Tora follows Myitt aboard and walks straight to the weapons console, altering the setup for human use with several deft adjustments of the controls. "Nice ship," she remarks, raising eyebrows as she glances around. It doesn't even compare to the decrepit Bug in which she had landed -- a ship the rebellion had salvaged from what had to be the earliest years of the war.

((I apologize for my delay. Two days of traveling will do that to ya >.<))

Salem glanced at Keshin again, then up at the image of the star field above them. From what the Yeerk was saying, he should be able to get back to 'his own universe.' He shook his head.

"I'm not even sure which universe is mine anymore, Kess. From what I know of my damn Hope Drive, this is my home now. I'll have to see if I can go anywhere else without using it again. I'll be surprised if I can ever go back to the universe I just came from." He sighed and looked around the room. "Experiments for later," he muttered. "For now, I've got to go back to a bar with a Hork-Bajir that's probably not very happy with me. This is why I never go back after I escape a place. Now he'll be on his guard. Hey, Al, remind me next time to not use the Hope Drive again."

"You mean like I did the last five times? Consider it done!" Al laughed.

Salem smiled weakly and looked at Keshin. After a second, he seemed to shake himself, and grinned. "So, everybody here knows you're a hunter, and now it seems half the bar's after you. I think the two of you have been here a bit too long," he said with a wink. "For now, I guess you can just consider me a standing potential client."

Terenia nods, sagging with relief when Ossanlin accepts her apology and offers one in return. She watches him demorph silently, but her attention has clearly been pulled away. Her tears stop falling and her eyes track slightly as Efaen begins speaking rapidly.

<<Tell him that you will follow his orders,>> she instructs, <<Tell him that you will treat him as an Andalite should properly treat their superior and request that you be allowed to continue your service aboard the Blade Ship working for him as a spy.>>

<<Dude,>> Terenia says, miffed, <<I just apologized to the guy, okay? Isn't that enough? I'm not going to...pledge my allegiance to him or whatever. I'm not an Andalite, so I shouldn't have to do what a proper Andalite would do.>>

<<Do you want my assistance or not?>> Efaen asks coldly, <<If you refuse me I will request my freedom, in which case it does not matter that you are 'sorry' for your actions.>>

<<I don't want to go back...>> Terenia admits in a small voice, <<Tamora isn't there anymore. Just....him.>>

<<You promised.>>

"I-" Terenia says out loud. She quickly pauses, clears her throat, and seems to change her mind, "I'll help you find your weapons." she says, eyes downcast.

Ossanlin ****s his head at Terenia, brow furrowing again.  <I would appreciate the assistance...>  He starts to say something else but stops himself...some things were better left said in privacy...and not just a private-thought.  It was obvious to anyone who was watching two beings having a private thought-speech conversation that something was going on.  <I don't know exactly where I was in the woods...if you could perhaps lead me to the spot...>  Ossanlin trots out to the main hall and claps Parker on the shoulder.  <Thank you again human.  If only the humans in my Universe had your capabilities and technology...they might be able to defend themselves effectively against the Yeerks...>  Ossanlin trots down the ramp, looking first at the bar, then the forest, and finally back at the ramp.

I turn in my chair, eyes following Myitt's but unable to identify just who she's looking at. "Who? There are many...creatures... in this place."

After a moment the full effect of her words hit me.

"Myitt and an Ossanlin kidnapped a human? Things truly have changed during my absence. It appears my people are not longer above the things we used to deride you humans for..."

Corliss follows Ossanlin outside, stuffing his hands in his uniform pockets.

He, too, looks back up the ramp at Terenia.

"Come 'ead, love," he says, waving her along and using the more platonic version of the word that his host is so fond of.

Parker nodded at Ossanlin. As he followed him down the ramp, he said, "You're welcome. Do you still require my assistance; or do you feel confident to continue with your current escorts?"

The Director rolled his eyes again and said, "I'm certain he's looking for motivation. Not just the summary of events, as you gave 'im those already."

Ossanlin looks at Parker again.  <Well, you can come along if you want...I feel I am coherent enough to defend myself, however I am weaponless at the moment...aside from my tail which is usually adequate.  If you would rather be elsewhere I don't want you to feel obligated to stay.  Your company is certainly welcom at any rate.>  Ossanlin smiles with his eyes before looking back up at the ramp for Terenia.

(May I ask what Corliss means by 'head? Ahead? I don't think I've ever heard someone say come ahead. Come along, maybe. But then I'm American, and he's British. Or elsewhere across the Atlantic.)

((Yup, it's a Liverpool thing, short for "come ahead" but only really spoken as "come 'ead".))

Myitt nods at the screens on Temrash's ship.

"Alright, kids.  Everyone buckle up," she says, sinking into the big chair designed for a Hork-Bajir body.  "We've got a lock on Salem's ship.  Alic, keep an eye on the nav screens, they could figure out we're on to them and start running.  Tora, let's hope we don't have to use the Dracon cannons, but be ready."

The ship lurches as it lifts off the ground, rising up above the tree line.

Silver meditated until she had relived every memory what felt like a million times. So many scars now had their stories behind them. She closed her glowing white eyes and removed the crystals from her temples. She wiped the tears that had spiled over frpm her face nd gave a heavy sigh.
