((It's okay, I have three characters, it can be confusing at times. Especially when I'm not certain if my character actually is supposed to know a bit of info or not. That's the hardest bit. It's even harder when I'm on my phone and can't research it properly. :>_<: ))

Parker saw Keshin put away his weapon, but kept hold of his sword. If an entire army came looking for this guy, then he was definitely a danger, and Parker really didn't want to be caught off guard. He stayed quiet awaiting the stranger's answer to Keshin's question.

The cloaked man breathed a sigh of relief as Keshin lowered his weapon. He noticed the word "turelek" but couldn't place why he should know it. He lowered his hood, revealing his now-quite-frazzled reddish brown hair.

"That's actually kind of complicated. I'm wanted in their empire for a number of reasons, but I wouldn't have had that small army after me if that commander of theirs hadn't promised their High Council, or whatever they call it, that he would catch me. I think they decided they'd fund his operation if he can catch me, so he's basically got everything riding on it."

He stopped talking. He was still very uneasy. Eying the woman again, he asked "So, have you ever heard of these Yeerks? And more importantly, do you think anyone around here could help me get a ship out of a lake?"

((Ironic that he would ask Keshin that question. ;D :P ))

Parker spoke up first, "Yeah, we've heard of Yeerks. There are plenty of them all around this place. As far as getting a ship out of a lake, I don't think anyone can help ya there. Not unless someone tows it out with their own ship.

((Optimist Prime, you're probably right in that your character wouldn't know the word. But you might not know the word as a person, either. "Turelek" is the accepted Yeerkish term for "assassin" or "bounty hunter" between Myitt and I. Not sure if this is canon or if we pulled it out of our asses. XD ))

"Man, that guy is screwed now," mutters Keshin with a laugh. "The Council of Thirteen don't like being disappointed much, although he might just get ignored. Or he could come around again. As for whether I know about the Yeerks..." Keshin gestures to his own head. "...well I am a Yeerk. I'm just not allied with the Empire or any other faction."

<Don't forget me, Kess.>

<Oh don't worry. I haven't.>

"Yeerks are parasites that infest other species. They're not just the bladed aliens you saw. The body that you see isn't mine, precisely. It's Joanne's body. She's a human like yourself. As for the ship..." Keshin points towards the Bar. "...this really weird four-armed guy could lift it for you. But I seriously doubt it's still working."

Mar smirks at the comment regarding Trey's disposition. "Oh, I wasn't trying to help the boy. I was merely commenting on the obvious. If he's grown any kind of backbone, then I suppose it is to his own credit."

Mar gestures toward the wall, drumming his fingers on the rim of his drink. "As for this little shack, I don't think it will ever quiet down. Ever since I first came here to pay Myitt's tab, I have seen everything from demonic attacks to Imperials complicating matters."

((Parker- it's awesome irony ;D Shenmue- I think you guys made up Turelek, but I'm more than willing to roll with it being a Yeerkish word that this guy recognizes, if only vaguely  ;)))

The cloaked man's face sagged a bit at Parker's mention of not being able to get his ship out of the lake. It wouldn't be easy to get down there and fly it out himself. At least he was alive. His ears perked up again when Keshin started speaking, though.

"Ah... so, you Yeerks take control over the bodies of other species? That actually makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking. That explains why the Andalites always call someone who's joined the Yeerks a Controller." He started to speak a bit more excitedly. "So... what are Yeerks, exactly? Is this... 'Joanne' of yours still... intact? Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much about my ship. It should still be working. I hope. Do you... think this four-armed guy'd be willing to help me out?"

((Gah, see this is another of those moments. I'm not 100% sure if Thordon and Parker have ever met, and I can't research that on my phone. Oh well, yay for vagueness.))

Parker shrugged, "I guess it couldn't hurt to ask the guy." With the man's tone lightening, and the conversation's direction taking a brighter turn, Parker felt comfortable enough to reattatch his sword hilt to his hip. He kept his hand near it just in case though.

The cloaked man narrowed his eyes and looked at Parker. "What exactly are you, anyway? And do you know where I can find this guy?"

At the man's pointed question, Parker half-resented that he put his weapon away so soon. This character crashes here aand brings an army with him, and he has the gall to interrogate him? Parker clenches and opens his hand that sits near his sword hilt as he says, "What am I? I'm human. Who are you?"

Parker couldn't help but appreciate the position he was in. It mirrored his own arrival on this asteroid. Except he was now where Hunter was.

The cloaked man laughed, relieved. "Human? I don't recognize that... whatever you're wearing." He gestured vaguely to Parker, indicating his armor. "It's... impressive."

This is certainly not home, but at least it doesn't seem I've gone too far, he thought.

"I'm Tob... ah..." he hesitated, then smiled. "The name's Salem." He stepped forward and stuck out his hand.

~Keiko~
She looked around for a moment and then said, "I think alone would be better right now. I'm still getting used to people." she told him and thanked him for the food and drink.

~Silver~
She sipped her drink and let her gaze wander across the bar, where she noticed Parker hadn't come in yet. He had followed her our of the ship, where had he gone?

Parker was put a little less on edge with Salem's laugh. He relaxed his hand and extended it to greet the newcomer, "No, you wouldn't in your universe. The name is Parker-Eight-Two-One; or just 'Parker' if you like. Nice to meet you 'Tob-ah Salem'." Parker gave him a slight nod to show he had caught his slip-up, but still accepted his faux identity. "There's only one building on this rock, so the guy you're looking for is no doubt in there."

<Mmm,> Efaen says, looking dissatisfied with his answer, <but why? I want to know what made you, a Yeerk presumably raised in the Empire you claim to despise, abandon those principles? What was it that made you decide to become a traitor and join this faction? I presume that you did not simply wake up one morning with thoughts of dissent on your mind that were strong enough for you to sever all times.> Efaen tilts her head to the side, somewhat quizzically, <I ask you this not because I care, Yeerk. Your past is rather unimportant to me. However, Terenia has placed a good deal of trust in you, more than I think even she has come to realize. If you were so quick to betray your Empire, I need assurance that you will not betray us. Knowing your motives is a good start.>

----

Trey looks, if anything, even more disturbed by The Director's suggestion. He shakes his head visciously, as though doing so will shake the possibility from his mind. "No," he says, but his voice is ridged with uncertainty, "my job is to...to carry on my dad's work. To help bring the Yeerks back to their former might. It's not to go back in time and change it all so that it never happened." The flush from his face is fading, leaving a distinctly green hue behind.
