Parker resumed normal magnification, "Yeah, I'm not leaving this ship until they're all gone. They felt somehow entitled to enter once, I'm not giving them the illusion they can again."

(John Cutter)

Sitting up on the bench, his foot freshly stitched up and bandaged, he said to Asda, "Thanks doc. Lemme buy you a drink sometime."

Slowly standing up, he limped his way to the door, to follow Parker and the others.

Trey gives The Director a diplomatic look as he calls his 'friend' a nutter, deciding against voicing his personal opinions of The Director himself. Looking down at his glass of water he instead changes the subject ever so slightly, asking a question that has been on his mind for some time, "Why do you guys have such strange names? I mean, The Director sounds a bit more like a title than a name. Do people really call you that all the time?"

---

<Probably not,> Efaen admits, <that is precisely why I would be sent back to the Homeworld. If I was an active warrior then the Yeerks would always know my position, at any given time. It is a tactical risk. However, if I were on the Homeworld the Yeerks would have no way of reaching me. Those Yeerks who know of Terenia and my's existence would be too far away, as they are all serving under Visser Three directly, and the Homeworld is far too formidable for the Yeerks to attack. It is where I will be most safe.>

She exhales slowly, relaxing her muscles as she stares at Terenia's weak Yeerk form, <I will not kill her. I made a deal with her, and as despicable as she is you are correct. I need her. If I want any chance of defeating the Yeerk filth, I need her. I hate her for it, though. If it were not for her pathetic delusions I would not be a slave to these tracers.>

Asda smiled. "Anytime. Make sure you take it easy."

Meanwhile, Andromeda put a hand on Silver's. "I'm fine, now that I'm here with you and your father."

Morgan sighed. "I hate to say it, but we'll have to be ready for possible trouble. The CG is going to notice eventually that their transport is missing."

"You're going to need me if that happens," Fletcher said, "am I still part of the team?"

((Looks like I have to post. Oh pooh, but I'm so lazy. Just to get things a little screwy I shall have Keshin see something a little off in the spot where our "friend" is hiding. He can escape or not.))

The investigation at first is utterly fruitless. They search the area thoroughly and find no sign of the mysterious runaway. Other than getting out of the Bar's stuffy air, this little interlude is turning out to be a complete waste of time. <Maybe we should go back in. I mean---crap, the ship's leaving!>

<Hurry, Kess!>

Keshin runs out and watches as the small craft blasts into space. Keshin moans and states, "Great. He's already left. And after all the---huh?"

Keshin squints at the crater where the ship was sitting. He could have sworn he saw some sort of ripple or shimmer in there, but there's nothing in that location as far as he can see. Keshin kneels in front of the spot cautiously, trying to figure out what he had seen.

Mar nods and clasps Elayne's hand in his own, smiling. "Yes, sweet Elayne. We've spent enough time...having pleasant conversation in a warehouse." Mar blushes. "I'm sure that the Bar has calmed down by now, and you can sit down again. It's been a very long, strange day."

Mar then wanders forward, hoping that Elayne follows.

The Director becomes slightly quiet, but not for a noticable amount of time before answering the boy's question, "Oh we choose our own names at a certain age. Oh yeah, what, would you rather be 'Geoff Gellepsi' for the rest of your life; or would you like to choose your name? What is your name, anyhow?"

~Silver~
She turned to look at her mother when she placed her hand over her own and she gave a nod and smiled a moment before Her father mentioned trouble. Silver heard Fletcher ask if he were still a team member. It was true that if he were here to bring us in, he would have done it a long time ago.

~Keiko~
"Good ridance, I say." she said as they left. "Nothing ever somes from people who act stuck up and all high and maighty." she said, her left ear twitched a moment then settled.

Elayne smirked as she followed Mar back into the main room. "You can say that again," she gave a vehement nod. It took only a quick glance around the room to see that the crisis was largely over--at least inside the building.

She took several steps towards the bar and ordered a beer for herself and red wine for Mar. A moment later, her hand fumbled into her pocket, shoving her tool belt higher on her waist to get to her wallet inside. She placed two twenties on the counter, knowing that she had been ordering against he tab for a while now.

The drinks in hand, she turned to Mar with a smile and headed towards an empty table.

"Then I suppose you aren't going to like our friend Mar much." Temrash said. "Of course he's part of a higher being anyway, so he's a bit beyond us mortals."

The cloaked man had no way to know if his distraction was working, but he thought he could see a Hork-Bajir sprinting away from him. Still, he thought he'd better be cautious. He didn't know if this cloak was as good at camouflaging him as he hoped. He glanced around as well as he could, and, not seeing anyone, carefully stood and turned around. There, looking right at him, was a brown-haired woman. She wasn't dressed like the forces that were after him, but he still got a sinking feeling knowing that she'd been watching him. If she couldn't see him before, she definitely could now. He cursed silently.

Trey chuckles quietly, "I suppose Geoff isn't too much better. I go by Trey, but my full name, according to my parents, is Treyliss 0-0-1 of the First Generation. They were very much against giving their child a human name. It means I'm the first....the only...grub of theirs. The First Generation bit is usually a pool name, but since we aren't born in them anymore, well I'm the first generation of Yeerks to be born to this particular brand of slavery, as my dad would say." He takes a sip of his water and smiles grimly, "You can probably see why I just go by Trey."

Morgan turned to Fletcher and was silent for a long moment.

"Yes," he replied, "you're still a member of the team, but be warned that you're on extremely thin ice. I don't much appreciate that you kept such a secret from us for so long."

"I know," Fletcher said, "and you're right. I should have said something long before now. I thought I was doing the right thing by keeping it from you."

"Go to your quarters and get a clean shirt," Morgan said as he glanced at the tattoo again.

Fletcher nodded silently, got up and left the medical bay.

"I think we're long overdue for a drink in the bar," Gaz commented.

"You're right," Morgan said. Then he turned to Andromeda and Silver. "May I escort you ladies?"

Gaz snorted as she tried to hold in laughter. "I'm never going to get used to this side of you, Morgan."

The Director looked at Trey oddly, "'Yeerk'? What in the world is a 'Yeerk'?"

Thordon mumbled, "Yeerks are the parasites controlling many of the hosts here."

The Director raises his head in understanding, "Oh, the sentient parasites. So what's your host's name? It's not Geoff, is it?"

Parker stays motionless as he says, "Having power doesn't mean you have the right to treat the weak as inferiors. Seeing that kind of disrespect really irks me."

"No, it's not Geoff," Trey says with a smile, "I don't have a host. I'm not really a Yeerk. Or maybe I am...I'm not sure. My parents were Yeerks. They were forced to become nothlits...to obtain a human form permanently...or die. It's the Final Solution according to the humans and the Andalites. Force all of the Yeerks to become human, or some other animal, and then a few decades down the road the entire race disappears."

Trey pushes his water away, suddenly no longer thirsty. He turns to face The Director, for once actually looking him in the eye as he speaks, "I'm human, but I'm not. It's my job to carry on the traditions and the memories of a species that will, very soon, be gone forever."

The Director looked upward, searching his memory, "Oh, so that's the genocide you were talking about." He looks over and meets Trey's eyes, "Well, as genocides go, that is definitely the nicest and most painless I've ever heard of." He retains his curious expression, "So that's the genocide that you would rather exist than stop? You would rather live here, now, with all of the pain of your past and doubt of your future than to help stop such a genocide?"
