((Ehehehe, we already have one. >3 And yes, I'm going to have Keshin run into the ship starting up. ))

Keshin's wanderings eventually take him in the direction of something bizarre: a broken ship apparently starting with no pilot. Or at least he doesn't see anyone in the ****pit. Keshin frowns and begins to dart around the ship's general area, looking for clues. <Well what do we have here? This hunk of junk couldn't have kicked into gear on its own. Our friend the bounty picked the worst escape ship I've ever seen.>

<Hey, we dunno it's him.>

<It couldn't be anyone else, given the ship's condition. If it were me I'd try to stowaway on one of the intact ships, but this guy doesn't have that option. There are Imperials swarming over the Bar looking for specifically him, and he doesn't have a lot of time.>

<Yeah, but I don' see the guy.>

Joanne's right. The "pilot" is nowhere to be seen. But he's got to be somewhere, and so Keshin readies himself for anything and continues his search.

<<We will have to hope it does,>> Efaen says, a bit of the ice returning to her tone when Corliss states the Electorate's disapproval of Ossanline and Aliciana's relations with the rebels. She turns away from the controls, ignoring the searching Bug Fighters that can be seen through the view screen, and steps over to the temporary Yeerk Pool. She looks down through the murky water, at the single Yeerk swimming through its depths, and one hand clenches into a fist.

<<It would be quite easy,>> Efaen says idyly, <<to kill her. There are half a dozen bounties on her head, both Yeerk and Andalite. If I destroyed her and returned to the Andalites I would be hailed a hero by the Electorate, before being promptly shuttled back to the Homeworld for my own safety.>>

---

Trey gives The Director a lopsided smile, "I guess that's good then. I wouldn't want to...you know..." he trails off, his thoughts on his dead father, still warm in his grave. Shuddering slightly he waves a hand, drawing the bartender over, and orders a water. The bartender nods and fills a smudged glass, sliding it his way. Trey sips it slowly, his attention on the wood grain of the bar.

"Still..." he says after a long pause, "sometimes I suppose it would be good to be able to stand up for myself. Problem is, I dunno what I'm supposed to be standing up for. Everyone here has some sort of cause, and I don't really have one. I'm just...drifting."

The Director barks out a laugh, "Ha, sounds like my friend, The Doctor. Well, 'friend' may be a strong word. Driftin' about Space and Time, taking on the causes of others, completely lost. He never could just watch. Oh sure some things he could when he didn't have a choice, but when given the choice, he always acted. Right nutter he was."

~Silver~
Silver listened, and she lossened her stance and posture, but she did not move away from her mother's side. Now that she had her back, she never wanted to leave her. they would be a familt once more. She heard out Fletcher's story and everything began to click together. "Well aren't we just the happiest group. Each of us is wanted for something. Talk about your disfunctional family." she smiled.

~Keiko~
She stayed where she was, but she stared at the tattoo. She had seen so many as she was locked up, that she never trusted that image. She heard the story, and she wanted to believe, as they all knew him better than she did, but she wasn't quite there on the trusting side. She didn't know any of them. She had so far only spoken with two and had been with three of these people.

((Haha, you guys... ::) I guess it was about time. ;)))

Elayne gave a sad smile as she looked up at Mar. She did not precisely lean against him, but she certainly remained close to his side. "You know, I don't believe in true love," she told him. "At least not between two adults; I don't think there's anything that pure. I hope you won't hold my selfishness against me, but yes, for what it's worth, I'd like that."

Blushing a little, she then truly did lean against him, turning her eyes on her feet. "So... how long is 'not long'?" she wondered aloud, avoiding letting him see her vulnerable expression. "I mean, any time together is good, of course," she added, a vain attempt to bolster herself. She had not been friendless in perhaps the way he had been, but she was still frightened at the thought of someone she card about irrevocably disappearing soon.

((Hahaha, guys, it's turning into 90210 in here! XD  ::) ))

"And your people would be able to remove the Imperial trace that's coursing through your blood?" Corliss demands.  "Or would you lead Visser Three right to your home?  Not to mention half a dozen bounty hunters."  He walks over to Efaen, looking down at the viscous grey liquid.  "You can't kill her.  You need each other, Efaen."

<Yeah, of course she can't kill your girlfriend,> Mike mutters.

<Nonsense, Michael.  I care for the girl's well being, that's all.>

<You're a terrible liar, mate.>

Gaz shook her head. "Fletch, you're my cousin, so I really want to believe you. Why did you have to keep this from me?"

Fletcher looked at her. "It was for your own good. And before you say it, no, I had nothing to do with them picking you up. But I was the one who helped steer Morgan towards the right ship."

Gaz looked to Morgan. "He was," Morgan replied. "Was quite insistent that we intercept the ship you turned out to be on."

Morgan left Gaz to sort things out with her cousin. He went to stand near his wife again. He looked at her.

"Asda said when she scanned you that she saw evidence of broken bones," Morgan said with concern. "What did they do to you?"

Andromeda sighed. "They asked me a lot of questions about you. I don't know what kind of information they thought they were going to get out of me. They had hoped that you would find out about me sooner so they could use me as bait to get to you."

((Hey. You can't try and say you love someone without a little delicious cheese. :3 Plus Kitsune and I have been at this since February. For some reason. I think we have it right story-wise. Mar'll probably kick his own ass for pulling this once his mortal hormones turn off out of the Bar.  ::)))

"I have seen true love," states Mar quietly. He doesn't look happy about it for some reason. "It is a powerful and dangerous thing, and sometimes exceedingly sudden. I do not know how it appears or how I would go about finding it. Or even if it lasts forever. But it has been known to wreak havoc on the best-laid plans I have. When Precious and I meet below when all this is over, I will attempt to force a cheap imitation."

"As to the second question..." Mar shrugs a bit. "...to be honest, I have no idea. It could happen at any moment. I have already pushed away a General of mine so that I could stay here. They will come around again. What will be will be. I have you now nonetheless."

Parker stayed out of the rest of Fletcher's conversation. As he wasn't a part of the crew, he had no right to be there while they decided whether or not he is still a liability. He walked up to the frightened woman and held her arms to her side. He lowered his output volume to not interrupt the current conversation, and to not alarm her, "I'm not restraining you, however I feel this conversation should be left to them. Perhaps we should step out."

He let go of her arms, tapped Temrash's shoulder, nodded towards the door, and walked out of the medbay. Even though he was interested in his story, this wasn't the place for them. He walked back to the ship's entrance and stood guard making sure no one tried to enter again.

Thienal's ship began to rise from the crater. Once it'd reached a few yards above the ground, the engines lit and it began to accelerate into space, leaving only the crater, and the cloaked man, lying on the ground, visible only by the rippling when he moved, and his eyes peeking out from what appeared to be a crack in nothingness. He thought he'd caught sight of someone lurking nearby, but he wasn't sure.

What I wouldn't give for some damn way to look around

***

Thienal was still scanning the area through his scope, when the human's voice came from his clothing somewhere. "Nice ship, Thienal. I think you should take better care of it, though. Mind if I borrow it for a while?"

Thienal glanced over towards his crashed ship and saw it rocket towards space. Immediately, the two Bug Fighters were after it, firing, but it had too much of a lead on them. Their shots were dissipating in the atmosphere before they hit it, and it was pulling away. Thienal angrily took a shot at it, which went wide, then hovered down from the roof. He sprinted towards the Yeerk commander, yelling "He stole my ship! He's on my ship! That's him!"

The commander had noticed the rising ship, and immediately suspected it might be his target, but at Thienal's yelling, he stopped dead in his tracks. "No... not again." Into his mic, he started screaming "Cruiser in orbit, can you see a fighter rising from the surface?"

A female human voice replied "Yeah, I see it. It's hauling, though. I wont' be able to catch it before it breaks orbit. We'd have to fully change direction. Actually, as fast as it's moving, I don't think this thing can catch it at all. We'll probably just have to follow until it burns out the engines."

The commander sighed heavily. This target would never make this easy on him. "All troops, to the transport. NOW! Cruiser, be ready for us. Ikakek! Zong! Whatever you are, stop that ship. Shoot it down!"

Ikakek's tiny ship rocketed towards the larger Kindler ship now exiting the atmosphere, and unleashed a volley of small missiles trailing a red glow. They barely seemed able to catch the accelerating craft, and though each impacted with a white flash, it didn't seem to slow it down at all.

Thienal had run up next to him, panting. "There's no way that Zong can take down my ship with the shots he has left. Stupid human's going to blow up my baby, running her that hot. Can I hitch a ride?"

The commander glared at him. "Come with me." They joined the rest of the Yeerk forces already running for the transport.

Temrash agreed that this was better done by Morgan and the rest. Like he had told Keiko, he wasn't really part of their group. Neither was Parker. He took Keiko by the hand and started following Parker. Once back at the entrance, he noticed the troops were still frantically running around, but now they were converging on their ship.

"Maybe this means they're leaving. Good."

Elayne looked abashed at Mar's little speech on his experience with true love. Perhaps he had experienced it, but she still hadn't, in her eyes. She was too selfish. Still, she cared about Mar in a real and valid way. Maybe even loved him -- but it was hard to say without her stomach churning a bit.

"Then, we'll just use what time we have," she gave him a smile, her free hand pressing against her abdomen a moment before letting her arm drop again. I'm such a wreck, she thought to herself with a sigh, chancing a look back up at Mar. "Do you want to go back in the main room or...?" she let the question hang.

She had looked up at Parker when he had put her arms to her side, then she nodded as he explained himself. As they turned to leave, Temrash had taken her head and led her out. She also noticed the others running around. "Maybe, but did they find who they were looking for is the question." she said.

~Silver~
She gave a glare at the floor as she heard what had happened to her mother. Her hands were fists clenched tightly. The CG were the kind of people they needed to get rid of, it wasn't right.

Parker zoomed in on two ships' eingine trails left in the sky. they almost made a tunnel through the clouds in the distance. "They're chasing a ship. It seems their target is leaving this asteroid finally. Judging by the screaming bounty hunter, it's his ship that they're chasing. Looks like he got hijacked."

Thordon watches all of the troops evacuating the parking lot and heading back into their transport ship. He smiles slightly and gets up to see from outside.

The Director notices Thordon's movements and figures there must be troop movement. He spins around on the stool and sees the troops leaving, "About bloody time. All those gun toters were putting me on edge."

"Hard to say. We can check that out after they leave, but I'd try to stay out of their way as they're running around. As long as they aren't trying to shoot up any of our friends and allies."
