"That tattoo means that Fletcher's a Central Government Agent!" Morgan yelled. "He's an inside man!"

"Morgan," Fletcher said desperately. "You don't understand! Maybe I was...at one time. But I'm not anymore! I swear!"

"How long were you aboard my ship and reporting to them?!" Morgan yelled. "How long?!"

"I never reported anything to them about you," Fletcher said quietly. "I swear."

"How can I believe you?"

"We'll detain him. Run some tests to make sure he doesn't have anything on him. You weren't connected to that assassin from earlier, were you Fletch?" Temrash said. It was like being friends with a controller, then finding out he's been an Andalite in morph the whole time. "You'd better just come clean all the way now. It will be easier for you in the long run."

~~I like it!!! Glad you went for it.~~

She had gone quiet as she had seen Fletcher up again and her skin paled in color. Then they discovered the tattoo and she stood protectively in front of her mother, her hand itching and ready for any of her weapons if needed as they began to pull the truth from Fletcher.

~Keiko~
She nodded at temrash, then followed him back into the medbat as there was a commotion starting. She looked around and seen they were gathered around the dead guy....but he wasn't dead. She seen the tattoo and gave a snarling hiss in reaction.

"It's ok." Temrash said to Keiko. "Old Fletch isn't going to hurt anyone. He's on our side now. He's just due for serious reprimand." He honestly didn't know what was going to happen, but he didn't want anyone freaking out more than needed.

Corliss ignores Efaen's pedantic rant, fixing her with a steady glare.

"Efaen," he says wearily, pinching the bridge of his nose, "correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't I already in relative support of your little partnership with Terenia, even before Ossanlin got heavily involved in the situation?  I did get quite a bit of hell over returning her to you while you were unconscious, if you'll recall.  Now that you've buttered me up, as the humans say, by calling each and every one of my people a worthless backstabber, I'm really starting to question why I've helped you at all."

<Hah,> Mike chimes.  <I reckon I know why, mate.>

Corliss tightens his control on his host's speech centers and forces himself to look away from the Andalite.

<<You are not helping me,>> Efaen says simply, <<You are helping Terenia. The fact that it assists me is a happy coincidence. I clearly remember your involvement with our...situation...e arlier, but I also know that sympathies can change.>>

Efaen hesitates, not wanting to sound treasonous, but also feeling the need to express her point clearly, <<Prince Ossanlin concerns me. I admit that I do not understand his ties with the Yeerk rebellion, but the Electorate seems to be aware and accepting of it. Therefore I can only presume that it benefits our cause. However, Prince Ossanlin is also serving his own cause. One that your sibling is also a part of. How strongly will you stand for Terenia when Myitt is standing against her?>>

"Our cause hardly has the support of the Electorate," Corliss hisses, annoyed.  "We're only lucky to have like-minded Andalites such as Aliciania and Ossanlin on our side, and they do so without the full support of your people.  Yes, I know sympathies can change, and I know my brother.  Perhaps Myitt's opinion of the situation can change, as well, just as mine did."

The Yeerk commander was trying to keep his eyes on the area around him. He wasn't sure the man he was looking for wasn't near the rubble of the destroyed spacecraft, but he had a feeling.

One of his troops, the woman with the accent he could barely understand, radioed him, "Sir, he ain't here. You sure've got us chasin' one slippery devil."

The commander sighed. "Back to square one..." Into his mic, he said "okay, search again. Find him. Transport, I want you to scan all the ships out there."

"We have been, sir," came a different voice over the intercom, "the only ship that's shown activity is cloaked on the ground, and it's got locals onboard. One of them may be an Andalite, we're not sure. The reading before they started shooting was too inaccurate. We lost three troops to them, but their status hasn't changed since you saw the target."

"I thought I told you not to pick a fight." Softly, he said to himself, "I wonder... can this man confuse our sensors?"

"I don't know, sir."

The commander snapped "That was rhetorical, Ajiren. Keep an eye on the cloaked ship, but don't fire unless they fire first. All troops, you are cleared to shoot the target on sight. Do not let him escape again."

The troops began to fan out around the area, once again looking for the man they'd followed here. They were now assisted by the two hovering Bug Fighters as well.

***

The cloaked man was impressed. This ship had survived in pretty decent shape. It looked like it'd been out cruising for a few months, not like it had slammed into the ground at many times the speed of sound. Whatever else you could say about the Kindler, apparently their space ships were as durable as they wanted everyone to believe.

It was somewhat cumbersome working with his cloak on, but he didn't want to risk being spotted any more than he had to. It had looked like there were only a few repairs that needed to be made anyway. Now, only a few minutes later, he had the ship ready to fly. It wasn't exactly a professional job, but it should hold together until it reached Z-space.

He grinned. If this worked, it would be beyond lucky. He climbed inside the ****pit and set a silver device on the seat. He then proceeded to flick a couple of switches, and the ship began to hum.

((Not sure if I should have Keshin locate the cloaked man starting up the ship or not. Either way Keshin has probably run out of time. He tries so hard. XD Your choice. :3 ))

Mar swallows nervously and notes Elayne's response. "So...what you're saying is that what we do here doesn't matter. When you die, the person after you will not like me anymore. And when I leave, unless I choose to take the persona again...this me will not exist. And...you do not want me to follow you. So..."

Mar stands taller and prouder and walks towards Elayne, eventually standing right next to her. "Well then...to Hael with restrictions. I have what all of us want. And I will have it after I am gone. Let me take what I alone want. As long as I exist."

Mar then leans in and kisses Elayne on the lips.

"Lifeforms are strange." Belzar said, listening to Elayne and Mar. He didn't know what a soul was, but he wasn't as short lived as the usual lifeform.

Elayne's attempt to make sense of exactly what Mar was saying was interrupted by his kiss. Her hand reached out blindly, perhaps grasping for something to hold, but upon finding nothing, it fell back down to her side. Finally, her lips responded to his. This is what you wanted, she reminded herself, smiling as she drew away a moment later.

"It matters to the here and now," she answered him, reaching for his hand. "And it matters to me; this is the only life I'll remember."

((Elaynesmooch. :3 ))

Mar nods quietly, drawing out of the kiss and putting his arm around Elayne's shoulder. "True, true. And similarly, this is the only time I will appear. I'm a haphazard persona composed of bits and pieces of memory, intended only to be temporary. That I have lasted this long is a happy accident. And a bit of my own meddling."

Mar stares off, a distant expression on his face. "I...I do not have long. Sooner or later the rest of me is going to figure out I'm not doing anything useful. And when that happens I will..." Mar bites his lip. He looks...frightened? "...I will be gone. But until then I wanted...to have you, sweet Elayne. Because no other me will acknowledge or experience such feelings. We are predatory by design. My affection for Precious is normally mere poisonous obsession. Though we are very good at hiding this."

((Woot! Go Mar, get some! XD ))

Parker stood in silence. He turned off his external speakers so he could speak to Thor uninterrupted, "Thor, how did you not catch that he wasn't human? Their computing systems aren't exactly complicated."

<<I never suspected any foul play, nor could I anticipate that I was receiving coding from a program. I didn't think it necessary to inspect the information I was relaying, so I just streamed the information. Though after further inspection, I can see a coding in the scan. It's like the image has been altered before broadcast.>>

Parker nodded, "Makes sense. From now on inspect all information taken in as though it contained an enemy A.I."

<<Yes sir.>>

Parker turned his external speakers back on, "Well, it seems that were Fletcher an active mole, we wouldn't have been able to confinscate your wife's transport. Have you had many missions that turned in the enemy's favor seemingly out of nowhere? It sounds to me, that if Fletcher were active, you'd have been caught a long time ago."

((Awww. Get a room! ;D Yeah, if you wanna have Keshin run across the ship starting up, go for it ;)))

The Yeerk commander watched his troops fan out, but he was sure he was missing something important. The two Bug Fighters were now hovering nearly a hundred feet up, and were drifting in lazy circles around the bar, searching for their man, and his troops were combing the woods and searching the areas around the parked ships, weapons drawn. He was quickly tiring of this game. A voice came on over his radio

"Unh... sir, me an' another guy jus' blacked out. We think it's jus' been a few minues. Mehbe i's 'im?"

The commander stopped in his tracks. This was not right at all... but there was no way the target could escape, right? Not with the Bugs watching the parked ships. Why had nobody seen two troops blacked out?

"Where are you?" he asked into his mic.

"O'er by tha' bar."

"All troops, keep your eyes open near the building. I have a feeling our target hasn't gone far."

The Yeerk forces now began to move cautiously back towards the bar.

***

The cloaked man waited a few minutes, keeping his eye on a screen tracking Yeerk cruiser in orbit. He waited until it had passed overhead and was moving away from where he planned to fly the ship, then opened the ****pit door and jumped out, his cloak returning him to near-invisible status as he did so. He rolled under the ship and stuck a small, round device to the underside, then drew his cloak over himself and hunkered down on the glass and formerly-molten rock of the crater. As the ship's engines sputtered to life, threatening to die with each passing second, he crossed his fingers.

Fletcher took a breath. "When I joined your ship it was because I was trying to get away. I learned what sort of things the CG was up to and I didn't want a part of that anymore. The only problem is once a CGA, always a CGA. They don't let their inner circle go easily, if at all. They know too much. Didn't you ever once wonder how I always knew the hacks? Why CG ships never seemed to run into us? It was because I was working the computer, stopping it."

Morgan nodded, it was apparent he was softening up a bit.

"Before I left the CG," Fletcher continued, "I tried to relay as much information as I could to Cortex. It's people like me that he gets the information from. Eventually, I overstepped my bounds and I did something that made the higher-ups suspicious."

Fletcher swung his legs over the side of the table and stayed sitting. He leaned on his knees.

"The thing is..." he continued, "when Caven came, it wasn't Morgan and Asda he was after. He only ran into them by chance and knew an opportunity when he saw one."

"He was after you," Morgan said, "wasn't he?"

Fletcher nodded. "Believe it or not, I'm more wanted then you are."
