((Haha... that's entirely up to you, Gaz. Personally, I say go for it, whatever it is. This is an almost-Animorphs RP, and it can't possibly be sillier than saying "The Ellimist did it" for everything that happens :P))

(lol. That's a very good point. I suppose in the case of where my characters are from it might be believable. I'll go ahead and make the post after lunch.)

((A wizard did it! >:3 And go for it, Gaz. This Bar's crazy enough to handle anything. Just as long as it's well-written. ^^ ))

Keshin grins. "Great, thanks. If we get ahold of him, we'll let you guys know. We don't know where he is right now, but we're good at this kind of thing. That, and he's got to be somewhere on this asteroid. Good luck with your search!"

Keshin then wanders away from the soldier and starts wandering about the asteroid. He couldn't have gone that far, although he doesn't appear to be anywhere in sight. Not the most conventional thing he's ever done, but it'll keep Joanne happy and distracted. Something about this Bar is bringing out the impulsive side of him...

Elayne froze as she heard the shift in Mar's tone. He sounded suddenly uncertain -- far from his usual, self-confident attitude. She turned to face him almost reluctantly as he spoke and revealed the reason for his sudden change.

"Well..." she responded a little uncomfortably, "any future iterations of my... my, um, soul..." her mouth twisted a little, not used to even considering the reality of such things, "they won't remember Elayne. Just like I don't remember anything before twenty-four years ago. I know it must be difficult for you to see relationships as mortals do, but..." she shrugged and watched him. "But maybe that should be your tactic with me. We'll just cultivate our friendship, here and now, and then when I die... I die," she shrugged. "You shouldn't go on any other endless quests for anyone's soul if you don't want to, especially not right after you've finally ended your hunt for Myitt's."

<The enemy remains the enemy, no matter how abhorrent killing is,> Efaen says simply, and her words take on a pedantic, almost rehearsed sounding, tone, <Andalites do not enjoy death, but it is the only logical conclusion to the Yeerk problem. The war itself is evidence to the fact that a live Yeerk is a dangerous Yeerk, moreso if they have Imperial allegiance. Therefore, following that logic, it does not matter if I enjoy killing. I do not enjoy the death of a sentient being. I do, however, enjoy the fact that in that each time one of those sentient beings perishes a new hope for freedom springs in its wake.>

Efaen breaks off her little speech, glancing out the viewscreen. The violence overall seems to have calmed somewhat. She looks back at Corliss, then to the pool carrying Terenia. When she speaks again it is private, purposefully excluding Terenia from the conversation, even though she knows that Terenia will be able to see it later.

<<I loathe her,>> she says, though there is little actual anger in her voice, <<but she is not a Yeerk. The Andalites, they will think that I am a traitor if they ever discover our partnership. They will not see the truth. That she is not truly one of your kind, and that she represents the clearest path to my success in this war. It would be helpful to both of us if we had someone who could stand next to us, when Captain Ossanlin returns. I know Terenia would appreciate it. She admires you,>> the final sentences sounds sour in Efaen's 'voice', as though the mere thought of advocating Terenia's happiness makes her ill.

---------

Trey continues to inch back towards the door, freezing only for a moment as Mar's eyes pass over him. Then the strange man's attention returns to Elayne and he relaxes, turning and exiting the hall entirely.

When he enters the bar proper again it has changed subtly. He notices that a few faces are missing, and out of everyone remaining in the bar he recognizes precious few. One of those that he does recognize is The Director and, after steeling himself, he goes up to him and takes a nearby barstool.

"I suppose you're right," he says quietly, by way of introduction, "I am a bit of a mouse."

(Ah. I didn't really have anything in mind to post after that. So I didn't. But I could have Tem make small talk.)

"I think the firing from earlier stopped. Hopefully it will stay settled down. We might be able to make it to the bar soon, and have a drink and some food. The bartender will get you just about anything, as long as you have money. You can put it on one of our tabs." Temrash said.

The Director glances at the boy and says, "Well one good thing can be said about mice, "They survive. They scurry away scared, but they survive. Only two things kill mice. Hunters and Time." He sits in the stool he had been standing over and slapped the boy on the back. Yeah, you'll live a good long while, should the girl decide to stay away from Earth of course."

(I'm going for it!)

Gaz sighed and said, "Well, I'm going to go back and see what's happening in the med bay."

She turned and walked back into the ship and was just walking back into the room when something happened. Something that made Gaz do something she had never done before. She fainted.

At the sound of a body hitting the floor, Morgan turned and saw Gaz.

"Gaz has never done that before," Morgan commented. He began looking around the room to see what could have been the cause. Then he looked over at the table where Fletcher's body was.

"What the hell?!" Morgan shouted in surprise.

Fletcher's body was sitting up on the table and flailing in an attempt to get the sheet unwrapped from his head.

"What's going on?" he asked in surprise as he got the sheet off his face. "Why am I wrapped up and....oh...oh crap."

"Fletcher?!" Morgan exclaimed. "What the hell is going on?!"

"Was I...." Fletcher began.

"Dead?" Asda interrupted. "Yes, you were."

Asda was in a state of shock as well. Her eyes were wide and she was taking deep breaths. She wasn't used to patients she had declared dead sit up and start talking.

Morgan crossed his arms. "You have some explaining to do. And I suggest you start right now."

Parker stood shocked at fletcher's ressurection, "That's not possible. You were dead for a good 10 or 20 minutes. How are you not brain dead at the least?"

Temrash came to the medbay to see what all the fuss was about, and saw Fletcher alive. "What in the Kandrona...? He was dead!" He said, and walked towards Fletcher to get a closer look, but seemed like he was afraid Fletcher would go nuts and attack or something. "That's not right. Not right at all. You're dead, Fletcher. Lie back down and be dead."

Fletcher sighed. "I was hoping I would never have to go into details. Before I started serving on Morgan's ship, I was in a horrible accident. I'm...what you might call a cyborg."

"A cyborg?!" Gaz exclaimed. She had recovered from her faint. "What?!"

"I guess it just took a long time for internal repairs," Fletcher commented. "That was why I never went along for those sort of capers."

"Why was this time different?" Gaz asked.

"I wanted to help Morgan," Fletcher replied. "Anyway. there was a surgery and...here I am. Any regular medical scans are tricked into reading that everything is normal."

Morgan's eyes were narrowed in thought. Something about Fletcher's story wasn't quite adding up. He was glad that Fletcher was ok, but something was being hidden.

"That type of surgery doesn't sound like it would be available to just anyone," Morgan said, starting to sound suspicious.

Fletcher was starting to look nervous, but what would he have to look nervous about?

Morgan walked over to Fletcher and yanked at Fletcher's shirt. There on Fletcher's shoulder was a tattoo. Some sort of symbol.

Morgan breathed in sharply when he saw it and backed away from Fletcher.

Gaz saw the tattoo and yelled, "No! Fletcher! How could you?!"

"How could he what?" Temrash said, confused. The tattoo didn't look familiar to him. He seemed relieved that Fletcher was just a cyborg instead of something else. "Where did you get the surgery?"
