Mar whips around to see Temrash appear behind them. He then rolls his eyes irritably. Ah, it's the Yeerk with connections from before. I remember him now. Not that I particularly cared even then.

"I suspect that two-thirds of this Bar's population are old war veterans, boy," mutters Mar tiredly. "Half of those are from the same war you are from, which in many cases isn't over." Mar then draws back part of his sleeve and taps his gauntlet arm. "And all of us carry scars of one kind or another. Elayne and Trey..."

Mar gestures at them calmly. "...are from a time when the war is over. Their wounds are more...psychologica l in nature. I am...attempting to prevent the disappearance of sweet Elayne. If you would excuse us."

"The war is over? Who won?" Temrash said. He ignored Mar's attempt to exclude him from the conversation.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Asda asked. "I can call Morgan or Gaz."

Meanwhile, in the bar, Fletcher had finally received a message from Cortex.

"Good news," Fletcher said, "Cortex says that the ship from the facility is still en route to it's destination. Cortex says he can hack the ship's guidance system and send it here for us to deal with."

"I like the sound of that," Morgan said, "they would have to deal with us on our turf."

Elayne frowned as Temrash continued speaking to them. She turned her eyes on him, her eyebrows lowering. "It depends on what timeline you're talking about. It's impossible for me to know your future; don't think I'm going to become some Bar-wide fortune teller just because I'm from one of many--infinite, I suppose--timelines after the Yeerk war has ended." As she spoke, her tone began to gain an edge it did not often have. It had been a long and difficult day, and she certainly didn't want Trey or herself to become some kind of amusement park attraction.

"Oh. Okay then. I'll just be going." Temrash said, not wanting to push the issue. It would be nice to know the future, and hope it was in his timeline, but he didn't want to make any enemies. He went to sit next to Fletcher and Morgan, though he hadn't heard what fletcher had said.

Mar sighs with a slight sense of relief. My sweet pet is not a toy to be used. That fool Keshin already nearly caused her to lose her life. I would not want any others interfering in her timeline.

Mar then turns back to Elayne and shakes his head. "Even if I were summoned to your side I would not be the same person you met. I would remember you, yes. But as I said the memory would become only one of many. I would prefer to draw out our time here as long as possible. Besides..."

Mar closes his eyes and thinks. "...do you really think returning now would change their opinion of you? We have no idea how close Trey's time is to your own. I thought going back would be the right thing for you to do, but not...now." Mar almost looks worried.

Elayne gave a heavy sigh. Her expression did not clear as she looked to Mar; instead, it only grew more worried. Finally she spoke, her tone infused with defeat. "You're right. It wouldn't do any good for me to go to Earth -- and it almost certainly would cause harm." She lowered her head, watching her hands that were now resting in her lap rather than pressing against her stomach; she seemed to have gotten used to the feeling of cold guilt roiling in her belly. "I'll stay here."

((Sorry, I was in Santa Rosa over the weekend. My family keeps me busy. :)

As a clarification, though Thordon looks sleeping, he’s just in a trance. So if anyone wants to talk to him, they can. He doesn’t wake up violently anyhow.))

Parker nodded to Morgan when he told him to help Silver. When she attempted to get up on her own, Parker wanted to help, but knew that he couldn't be her wheel chair, so he let her try. When Asda asked Silver whether she wanted help a second time, Parker answered appreciatively for Silver, "Asda, I appreciate your worry, but she wants to try it on her own. If she can't do it, I'll catch her. You have my guarantee," he looked to Silver, "nothing will happen to her."

The Director gave another chuckle. He said, “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be laughing at you, just what you’re saying. It’s alright; I know what I’m doing. I make my life righting the wrongs of time. I find that only bad things happen if I try and force situations. That’s the only reason I’m back in ‘ere. She declined my help, so I stopped helping. If later she wants it again, I’ll do my best.” He takes a sip of lager as he watches more new arrivals. He gives a big satisfied sigh and adds, “A little advise about messing with time: Never do things for money when Time is in flux, like it is here. Do only what feels right, and everything should go alright. If you’re about to do something that you feel could jeopardize something major, leave it be; but, if it’s a small change, have at it.”

When the tall razor-bladed being came in, he tilted his head. He approached him and said, “Unh, you’re new. So many new species in this nexus. So what’re you about? Gardening, I’d say, any big trees where you’re from?”

He then overheard Mar’s comment about time travel being inaccurate, and that caught his attention, “Oi, who needs an accurate ride through time? If you’ve got a date, I can get ya there within’,” he looks at the ceiling and tilts his head about, “oh about a month or so.”

Trey looks at The Director, wincing slightly as though his suggestion causes him physical pain.

"I don't think we're trying to travel through time..." he says, glancing at Elayne and Mar, "like I said, I'm not in favor of erasing myself from existence. I like...existing...y ou know?" He falters again, his face falling as he turns back to Elayne, "Maybe that's wrong, though. Maybe Elayne should go back. Maybe if she does the Yeerks won't have to endure...everything . It would be a...a good thing to do, right? I'm not important as an entire species survival..."

At his words, Elayne's expression mirrored Trey's almost exactly; she looked as if someone was hurting her. "Please don't say that, Trey," she shook her head. "It would be a bargain at best." She looked back at Mar for guidance; she wanted to do what was right, but at her core, she knew she was a selfish person. Mar wanted her to stay here with him, and so she hoped that he would help confirm her choice to remain at the Bar. Here she would be removed from the turmoil of Earth, from the sneering faces and hurtful names, from the knowledge that her actions had wiped poor Trey from existence.

Asda nodded, "Ok. I'm going to take care of things in here. Morgan and Gaz already went to talk to Fletcher."

Gaz noticed Temrash and said, "Hey. We just got a message from Cortex. He found the ship that's carrying the people from the facility. Said he can hack the guidance system and send them our way."

Keshin sighs, listening to the Director's thoughts on Time. If nothing else he seemed to know a great deal about the possible setbacks. <Seems like he's mucked around more than a few times himself.>

<Does that mean he's givin' good advice?>

<I'm not sure. His advice certainly applies to what happened with us and that idiot Sukohn. .......we never did get any return for that. Dammit.>

<New rule is we never take deals without serious payment up front?>

<You bet your ass.>

Keshin then nods and states, "You're probably right. We made a deal to change Time once and all we did was piss Myitt off. Not that that doesn't happen normally...but at least in those cases we usually get money out of it. Though...what would you call a "wrong" of Time? Nothing that happens in history is outright wrong. Just unpleasant."

Mar smiles warmly and sits up, putting his hand on Elayne's back. "Judging from what you said about your own future, the gears may already be turning. You may be far too late to change Trey's future. You cannot put a burden this large on your shoulders, Elayne."

((Okay, I need an OOC confirmation from T whether or not Trey is officially from Elayne's future. 'Cause my guy can tell if he looks into it.))

The Director looks from one human to the other and tilts his head alternating sides. He leans close to the female and snifs her while narrowing his eyes as he looks into hers. He then whips over to the male and repeats the sniffing and glaring. He stands up again and wiggles his nose a bit. After a moment, he plucks a hair from both of them and eats them, chewing them around a bit.

A peaceful expression had finally come over Elayne's features at Mar's words and his comforting hand on her back, but it was immediately transformed into one of suspicion at the man sniffing at her. "What--?" she began, the hairs on the back of her neck stirring as she shifted in discomfort. She edged away from him and towards Mar, but when the Director plucked a dark hair from her head, she shrieked at the sudden prick of pain. Clapping a hand to her scalp, she shot to her feet, her chair scooting back noisily on the floor. "Just what the hell do you think you're doing?" she demanded, her voice significantly higher pitched than usual.

((Trey is from one of the possible futures that exist for Elayne, Parker.))

Trey's eyes widen as The Director walks up to him and sticks his face uncomfortably close. Is he....sniffing me? he wonders. He is just getting over the initial shock when the strange man reaches over to Trey's still slightly bleeding head and yanks out a strand of hair indiscriminately. His face pales and he pulls away from The Director in alarm, scooting back so fast that the chair's center of balance is lost. With a loud bang he crashes over backwards to the floor.

"Wha-what the...what are you doing?" he cries from the floor, his face white with shock.
