Corliss smirks at the screens.  "Oh, it's something I believe very strongly in, yes, but that doesn't make it any less mad.  There are days where I question my judgment...but in the end, I don't think any of us could really have survived under the oppressive thumb of the Empire."  His expression darkens and he looks down at the tips of his black boots.  "Yes, it was the right decision.  It just didn't exactly increase our odds for survival."  He looks up at the screens again.  "Damnit, Myitt, where the hell are you?"

[Terenia]

<Maybe she is preoccupied,> Terenia says hopefully, <you wouldn't want her answering a phone call from you in the middle of a battle or something, right? I'm sure she's fine...>

<<Unless those ships you sent after her blew the whole little band to smithereens,>> Efaen says, enjoying Terenia's anguish.

[Midnight_Huntress]

Silver waited a bit after Morgan had left and then tied to slowly sit up from the table she was on. It hurt, and she got a little dizzy, but she kept going anyway.

[Myitt]

"Yeah," Corliss exhales, "reckon you're right.  I hope you're right.  It's just...unusual, that's all."  His gaze flickers briefly to Terenia before returning to the screens.  "Where'd you say you grew up?  In America, was it?"

[Terenia]

<America, yeah,> Terenia says, surprised at the question, <I bounced around a lot, but we were settled in California when I...left. I was born up in Minnesota. Nowhere really felt like home, though. My family wasn't the most...functional in the world. I'd ask where you're from, but you'd just tell me a generic Yeerk Pool name that I don't recognize. I never was very good at keeping track of all that...>

Terenia trails off, realizing with chagrin that she's talking a good deal more than usual.

[Myitt]

He smiles at the floor.  "If it makes you feel any better, my family isn't the most functional, either," he says wryly.  "Try having a few hundred brothers.  Reunions are hell."  Corliss glances at Terenia again.  "Mike grew up in a little suburb of Liverpool.  England.  Little industrial part of town called Bootle."  He looks up at the screens, out the Bug's main windows.  "We're certainly a long way from home, eh?"  The smile haunts his expression again.

[Gaz]

Asda noticed Silver getting up.

"Take it easy," she said. "Are you sure you don't want help?"

Meanwhile,, Morgan sipped at his drink as he thought about the last time he had seen his wife. They had been getting ready to go on the run. The plan was they were going to take refuge on an Outer Planet for a while until things blew over. Morgan had finally come to terms with the fact that he had lost his family for good. And suddenly he came to this strange bar and everything changed....

[Terenia]

<Quite a long way,> Terenia agrees, <not that I'd call California or America, or even Earth my home. Believe it or not, the most at home I ever felt was the years I spent on the Andalite Homeworld. Before they...> she cuts off, her voice catching somewhat.

<Anyway, I guess I don't have much of a home anymore.>

Mar's cheeks become a slightly lighter shade as he hears Trey's comment. His reaction is very similar to Elayne's. "No, no! We are not together, exactly. I have someone else that I have been following, though..."

Mar then shakes his head, trying to get rid of the brief but bizarre thought he'd just had. He then looks down a bit. "I simply do not have very many friends at all. Anyone who cares for me I would defend with equal strength, to be honest. I have not known Elayne for long, but she has been kinder to me than people I have known for centuries."

Elayne chanced a glance at Mar, although her cheeks were still red. He may have been creepy and strange, but he was sweet to her. How could she help but like him?

Clearing her throat, trying not to think about him, she looked back to Trey. "Maybe there's something I can do to help in your current timeline? Myitt said it's risky for me to go with someone from a different time, but if I could do something for you and your father's mission...?" she asked.

Mar shakes his head quietly, the color slowly fading from his pale face. "I know you want to help the boy, but you should not get yourself into this. I have been watching the events that have passed. I have found that getting involved in other people's problems only creates further trouble here. You may feel responsible for what happened in his world, but the damage is already done."

Mar sighs and looks over Elayne with a careful eye."I simply do not want you to experience any further difficulty. You were nearly wiped out by a timeline failure."

Elayne's brow wrinkled as her eyebrows raised worriedly. "But it's only in the past for Trey. Only if I choose to ignore the consequences of my actions will I truly be a traitor." She spat the word, as if she could not stand to form it with her mouth for long. "Mar, I know you want me to stay here with you but..." She bit her lip and then said, "You told me long while ago I could summon you. So if I left the Bar, I could still see you, right?"

[Midnight_Huntress]

She heard asda and smiled, shaking her head. "I think I can get it, thank you." she said, though the strain was heard a little in her voice. She got up toa sitting position, then let her feet hang over the side a moment before trying to stand up.

[Terenia]

"I don't know if you'd be able to help me anyhow," Trey says slowly, "I mean...I don't even know what I'm supposed to be doing...I guess I should be continuing on my dad's mission, but I wouldn't even know where to begin. I have no...no experience with Yeerks. At least not with true Yeerks. All I know are the stories..."

Trey shifts in his seat uneasily. He feels incredibly guilty, as though he was the true cause for Elayne's future, his present.

"Excuse me, but what are you guys talking about?" Temrash asked after hearing Trey mention 'true Yeerks'. "I'm Temrash by the way. Old war veteran, though I'm sure that's obvious." He said, indicating his scars.
