Trey nods, although his expression remains somewhat mystified.

"Another one..." he murmurs, "you're the second person I've met that's a...a real Yeerk. If only my father knew that your kind was still about, and not stuck in the pools, being gunned down by Andalites..." he shakes his head, knowing that that particular line of thought is a poor idea.

"Anyhow," he says with a shrug, "maybe you could help me, if I knew what I needed. I'm stuck for now, I guess..."

Terenia breathed a sigh of relief when Belzar turned and left, but her relaxation did not last long. Almost immediately his spot on her entrance ramp was taken up by another figure. She turned again, prepared to rip into whoever it was that was bothering her, but then she realized that it was The Director and restrained herself. This man....being....was yet an unknown, and the little bit of foresight that Terenia possessed was cautioning her to be careful.

<I am not lost,> she says, unable to entirely keep the bitterness from infiltrating her thought-speech, <I am a prisoner at the moment, attempting to rectify my captivity.>

"A prisoner? Well that's no fair. At least this is a pretty nice place to be contained. What's keeping you here?" The Director took out the thin flashlight device out of his pocket, flipped it once for flare, and shined it at the consoles around the ship, "Your ship seems fine, fuelled up and nothing stopping it from getting off this rock." He points the device downward, "Nothing tethering you to the ground." He turns off the device and places it in his pocket, "Nothing's wrong with your ship, so... either it's not your ship, or there's something else stopping you from running off. With a being as beautiful and dangerous as you... I'd say it's a pretty big something someone has over you.  Threat of death, or death of someone you care about I'd say."

The Director crosses his arms while asking, "So what's keeping you here; and what'd you do that required restraint?" The Director had direct questions, but his eyes bled with empathy. He knew what it was to be confined to the ground and was determined to find a way to help this amazing creature.

<I didn't do anything,> Terenia says indignantly, but her expression softens then. She sighs, rolling her shoulder blades back, as though letting down a heavy weight.

<There is a ship much larger than mine in orbit,> she says, <if I attempt to leave, it will shoot me down. The owner of that ship, along with a few others, went on an away mission to the planet that I am originally from. They have deluded themselves into believing that they are helping myself, as well as others, when in reality they are likely murdering the lot of us.>

<Well, that is optimistic,> Efaen comments silently.

<It is the truth,> Terenia snaps back privately, <You will die at Visser Three's hand if I leave you. Tamora will likely die when she is no longer of use to the Andalites. And I have no doubt that the captain and that girl of his, at the very least, intend on squashing me the second I am out of your head.>

Keshin heads across the dirt path to the Bar and pushes the swinging doors open. Thankfully no hideous monsters from beyond the stars have shown up. It's just Corliss, the Director, Trey, and that weird pale man.

<What, Kess? Were you expectin' Corliss to be stranglin' the Director over a magical artifact or somethin?'>

<...at the rate we've been going, sort of.>

Keshin strides into the Bar leisurely and sits on one of the Bar stools. He then holds up his hand to bring the bartender over. The bartender looks at Keshin with an unpleasant expression. "White grape juice please," mutters Keshin uncomfortably. The bartender grunts and moves away to pour the drink.

Keshin then notes Corliss and grins. "So how are things, Corliss? Looks like Myitt's still gone. And it looks like the kid's less shell-shocked."
*******************************************************************************
Mar smirks slightly as he listens to Terenia talk about her situation, for reasons he doesn't fully understand. "You seem to get yourself into the most terribly unpleasant situations, don't you?" Mar takes a sip of his wine, relaxing. "Especially with my friend in such a rush around the galaxy. Though you seem a bit less interested in beating his blockade now. Have you finally come to your senses and given up?"

"Your father, your parents...they were Yeerks, too, once.  Yeah?" Corliss asks.  "No Yeerk, where I'm from, would be allowed access to Andalite morphing technology.  Perhaps where and when you're from there really aren't any Yeerks left free to roam the galaxy, I don't know."  In spite of himself Corliss finds himself glancing at the large bloody stain on the wood floor near the entrance.  "It doesn't sound like the Yeerk Empire is still in force, in your time."

He looks up and over at Keshin, his expression darkening.  "You're still alive?  Pity," he sneers half-heartedly.  "Yes, Myitt's still gone, not that it's any bloody business of yours."

((Kels, Terenia's outside the bar FYI :P))

((Yeah, Terenia is on her Bug Fighter))

Trey nods, looking a bit grim, "Yeah, my parents were Yeerks once. Long time ago, though. There haven't been true Yeerks in...well, since before I was born," he shrugs nonchalantly, although his expression betrays the fact that he is bothered by this, "allowing them to become nothlits was the easiest way to eliminate the 'Yeerk problem', which is why the Andalites agreed to it."

Trey leans in conspiratorially, glancing at the tables occupants, "my dad told me that the Yeerks who refused were sent back to the homeworld, forced out of their hosts. Then the Andalites took their Shredders to the pools. Boiled 'em all. We were heading out there to see if it was true, see if there were any pockets of Yeerks left. Or, you know, resisters."

Elayne had been listening silently to Trey and Corliss until now, but at this point, she was too filled with disgust to not speak out. "That's sick," she spat, her eyes narrowing. "Anyone who would condone that is evil. What were you going to do if you found Yeerks?" she asked Trey, trying to soften her gaze a little, but not having much luck. If ever there were a worthy mission, it'd be that one, she thought. Shame I have no idea when or which universe he's from. Or that neither of us can pilot worth a damn.

((Sorry, I thought I posted my response on my phone last night. Damn slow connections.))

The Director lifted an eyebrow, uncrossed his arms and placed his hands in the side pockets of his coat, "Well, if someone is willing to devote an entire ship to watch whether or not you leave this planetoid, I'd say you had to have done something. Something in their mind anyhow." The Director adopts a disappointed expression and says, "Now I can help you. I can get you past 'Big Brother' up there, but I'd appreciate a little honesty. I understand you feel you've done nothing wrong; but what do they have in their delusional mind that you've done?"

Corliss watches Trey, his expression unreadable.  "That can't be true," he says dismissively.  "Even if the Andalites boiled every pool on the homeworld, they wouldn't be able to wipe out every lagoon, every infested Gedd.  Not unless they demolished the entire atmosphere."  He pauses, seeming to realize the Andalites might not consider that too beneath them.  "There would be resistance.  Hell, if I 'ad that choice, I'd resist."

Terenia blinks, looking bewildered by this man's directness. Perhaps that was the meaning behind his odd name? His presence still makes her uneasy, and she is growing impatient, wanting to get along with her plan, but if the man can help...

<They do not approve of the body I own,> Terenia says bluntly, <nor the person I work for, although their main problem is this body,> she gestures to her Andalite form, <the Andalites aren't very...open...to sharing. They would prefer to kill both myself and my host over letting me leave with her.>
-----
Trey shrugs, looking mystified, "my dad had a big thing all planned out, but I never knew the details. He told me what I needed to know, when I needed to know it. I never thought to ask him for more. I suspect he thought the same as you, Corliss. Wanted to go to the Homeworld and find the survivors."

He frowns, looking closely at Elayne, "but you're human, right? I mean, born and bred, human parents and the like? Why would you want to help the Yeerks? All the humans I've ever met were more than happy with their situation."

The Director nodded with a sigh, looking understanding, "So, you're a parasite too 'eh? Well, survival is not a crime, and I won't stand by and let you be improperly treated this way." He looks guiltily to the side, "Normally I don't interfere with those I find, but there's something different with this place. The same rules don't apply. If you want to leave... I'm your ticket. I'm 'The Director'." He extends his hand in both official greeting and to solidify his offer to help.

<Terenia, do not make a deal with this man,> Efaen says quickly, <I do not trust him. He is obviously not exactly as he seems, and you do not know what you are committing yourself to.>

Terenia hesitates, sensing the depths of Efaen's doubts and comparing them to her own, but her hope for freedom quickly overrides her fear. She extends her own, weaker hand and shakes.

<My name is Terenia,> she says, <we met in the bar, earlier. I was in a different form at the time.>

She pauses, meeting The Directors gaze steadily, <I do not intend on leaving here until the others return. They may be carrying cargo that is...important...to me.>

The Director feels the weakness of her hand shake and eases his normal grip as to not hurt hers. He raises his head at her mention that she was the human female in the bar, "Well we never truly met inside in any case, it's good to know ya. As far as your cargo, it shouldn't be a problem as long as we can get it through the door on my ship. Are any of your captors inside the bar now? I ask because when your captors return, we'll need some sort of signal to let me know when you're ready to go. Once we enter my ship, we'll be completely safe. No one can enter without me or without my permission. So if they become suspicious and try to enter my ship, they won't be able to. You will have to leave your ship behind however; so if you have any personal effects," he looks around the interior of the ship, "you should transfer them before they come back."

Corliss shakes his head.  "I know plenty of humans who wouldn't be too happy about the genocide of the Yeerk race.  Not to mention Mike."  He prods his host's chest, then leans closer to Trey, eyes narrowing.  "Your dad, your parents...were they alive when the war on Earth was going on?  For me, of course, the war is still very much a reality."  He tenses a bit, lowering his voice.  "There are also factions of Yeerks, on and off Earth, who do not support the taking of involuntary hosts.  My comrades and I fight against the domination of the Yeerk Empire."

Elayne opened her mouth to respond to Trey, but then closed it when Corliss spoke, glad she did not have to reveal any more about herself than was necessary. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk about her resistance movement. It hurt to think of all those she was letting down. "There are human pacifists," she said to Trey. "And there are humans who believe killing and hurting are wrong--even if the person being killed is perceived as evil. I remember protesters picketing every time my state held an execution, no matter who the prisoner was."
