Keshin nods at Belzar quietly. He doesn't exactly agree with him. In the world that Keshin knows, individual soldiers are usually highly expendable. It may not be the same in Belzar's world, but it has been similar wherever he has gone. <But...I can't tell Belzar that. It wouldn't be right.>

<Yeah. Gotta keep the faith, I guess. But still, givin' him false hope is also stupid.>

<It's better than seeing what will happen if he lost it.>

Keshin grins and finally says, "Yeah. With any luck they'll find this screwy place. No one's really sure how or why they managed to get here except regulars and a rare few weirdoes. Did you set up some kind of tracking device on you? A beacon?"

Mar nods quietly at Terenia's comment. "I am unsure of him myself. It doesn't seem like he is lying, exactly. But it's entirely possible to hide one's Self without actually propagating a falsehood or hiding information. You never really know with the patrons of this Bar."

Mar then notes Elayne with a nod. "As for what you have indicated...I believe that is something of a category-wide weakness. The vast majority of mortals I have known can only judge from such a limited pool of information. This results in uninformed and poor desicions about others. Humans are just more obvious about it, though they are also capable of..." Mar grits his teeth. "...vast and powerful displays of exactly the opposite. Much to my chagrin."

"I have a sensor device on me, but my allies would need to be on this planetoid, or in orbit, to get a reading. The transport device was the enemy's, and I don't know if they have such a device. The main idea is that you set the coordinates before someone goes through, so you know where they'll end up before they leave. In my case it was random, and the device was damaged. They may find it hard to find me...if they come at all."

"What do I do if they don't come? I can't stay here. I'm unused to this soft ground and these small creatures crawling and flying everywhere. I need to be with my own kind in a place of machines."

"He sounds like he's from the North," Corliss says slowly, glancing at The Director.  "But nobody I know from the North can travel to this place without...help.  At least not in the England I know of.  I wonder just who he is, and where exactly it is that he comes from."

Elayne smirked a little at Mar's last comment and winked as she gave his shoulder a sympathetic pat. "I know. Some of us just won't comply with your wishes."

Then she glanced to Corliss. "Why do you say that?" She knew very little about England, having always lived in the United States; true, she had immersed herself in her own country's political turmoil concerning Yeerks, but the only news she had ever heard about parallel struggles in Britain came from London.

"Well, it's just strange, you know," Corliss continues, still eyeing The Director warily from across the room.  "He's English, apparently, but he doesn't seem to be totally human, or at least he has access to more advanced technology than the humans from where I come from."

((Alright, I'm jumping into RP *Runs in and Jumps holding my nose* SPLASH!))

A tall and slender figure sat crouched in the shadowed corner of the bar. A jet black cloth hung around the figure forming a cloak. It appears to have a similar shape of a human man. Pale spider-like, blue hands were fidgeting above the table. The shuffling of playing cards could be heard. FlipFlipFlip. Rapidly the pale blue hands finishes shuffling the cards and spreads them out in a line on the table.

"Jeez gramps, you sure have an expensive taste in drinks," came a young sounding voice. A teenager strolled across the bar and sat across the from figure vieled in shadows. The teenager wore a similar cloak except the hood hung from around his shoulders reveling his dark brown mop of windblown hair and sparkling blue eyes. A human. He appeared around the age of 16. "Just be glad this isn't alcoholic or I wouldn't have been able to buy for you." The human teen said before he placed a small wine glass filled with a golden liquid in front of the hooded figure.

"Thank you," a voice whispered from the shadows of the black cloth. It sounded vaguely metallic. "But do not call me gramps. I'm not old, by my species's standards anyway and I'm not related to you."

The human snorted. "Oh please, after all we've been through we might as well be."

The figure grunted slightly before he swept his spider-like hands in the air above the cards. "Let's play a game. Pick a card..."

"I'd rather not," the human replied frowning and crossing his arms above his chest.

"Oh fine then," the figure grumbled sweeping the cards into one pile and stuffing them under his cloak. "Spoilsport," he reached out his blue hand and picked up the wine glass and brought it under the hood, which seemed to engulf it in shadows. When the glass was returned to the table it was empty. "Well we better start looking for another job..."

((Hi Damien! *wavewave*  Welcome to the bar, remember the rules and have fun! :D))

Corliss glances up in the direction of the two new figures, who seem to have appeared out of nowhere--but then again, he wasn't really paying attention to the door.

<Oh, cor, speaking of old Betty and poker games,> Mike sighs silently.  <You lot don't ever play poker anymore.>

<Do you really think we have time to?> says Corliss, returning his gaze to The Director, then to Elayne, shrugging a bit.

Terenia frowns, not entirely comfortable with Mar agreeing with her so readily. She still does not like the strange man, but she cannot help feel a bit guilty. She did try to kill him, after all.

<If he can die,> Efaen notes.

<Everything dies,> Terenia replies flatly, <even very weird men with seemingly impossible powers over something that doesn't even exist.>

Terenia glanced over her shoulder at The Director to see if he was listening to the group discuss him, but instead her gaze caught two new figures who seemed to be finishing a card game of sorts. Her frown deepens...she does not remember seeing them in the bar before.

<Terenia,> Efaen says, <Myitt and the others, they may ->

<I know,> Terenia interrupts, reading Efaen's thoughts before she can fully voice them, <enough lolly-gagging. It's time we collected some insurance.>

"I need to demorph," Terenia says abruptly, scooting her chair back. It makes a loud squeak as it scrapes against the wood flooring. Pressing her lips together in a grim smile, she turns and heads for the front door of the bar.

---

The sudden high-pitched squeal of wood against wood rouses Trey from his dreams. He blinks groggily for a minute, a fog hanging over his mind. Where am I? he wonders, staring down at the wooden table that had become his pillow. Using the back of his uniform-clad forearm to rub the sleep from his eyes he looks around, squinting against the bar's light. The first face that comes into clear view is Elayne's and suddenly his brain catches up with his body.

"Oh..." Trey murmurs, recalling the events of the past twenty-four hours. His stomach lurches and he puts a hand over his mouth, clamping his jaw tight against the nausea. A moment later it passes and Trey sighs in relief. Feeling a little weak and shuddery he climbs to his feet and moves over to the table that Elayne is at.

"Hey," he says with a weak smile, indicating the chair Terenia has just left vacant, "can I sit here?"

The Director just sits quietly, as no one joined in his toast, he figured they'd like a moment to themselves. Of course that didn't stop him from eavesdropping should their voices reach his ears. He catches the occasional glance his way, but leaves them be. When he sees the two new beings, his interest is peaked again. They seemed to just materialize there. He continues to sip on his lager watching the inhabitants of this strange place.

Elayne nodded with a frown in response to what Corliss was saying, but she was distracted by his change in gaze. She followed it to watch the two strange figures talking near the corner. "I wonder who--" she began, but then cut herself off as she heard footsteps approaching: it was Trey. "Well good morning, sunshine," she smirked at him. "Sure. She might be back soon, but take it for now. How about that drink? What do you want?" she asked him, setting her now-empty beer bottle on the bar counter.

The human teen looked around the bar before grinning and scribbling something down on a piece of paper he took from his robe and handed it to the hooded figure. The figure took the parchment and read it carefully before nodded before stuffing it into his own cloak. "I need another drink," was all the figure said before standing up, however it was hunched over, if it stood at full height its head would have gone through the ceiling. Slowly the hooded figure headed towards the bartender. Whenever one of it's feet hit the floor it made a metallic clinking sound as if it wore shoes made of metal.

((Ok, sorry to ask, quickly what species are the characters? Could someone please pm me or say it in the topic, don't care, just so I'm not so lost))

((Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone!:  Corliss/Mike=looks human, Elayne=human, Trey=human, Mar=looks human (or at least like a pale fanged humanoid dude from the 18th century), Terenia=she's demorphing into an Andalite form (see her for details), The Director=looks human, Keshin/Joanne=looks human, Belzar=big robotic thing...(Keshin/Joanne and Belzar are outside the bar) and I haven't really been paying attention to the outside stuff, sorry guys, but outside of the bar there are some humans and some stuff going on with zergs from Starcraft.  But again that's all outside.  That's what everyone looks like, now it's your job to figure out exactly who and what they are...or not.  Your call :) ))

Corliss shrugs, turning back to look at the bar counter.  His eyes follow Terenia as she gets up, muttering something about demorphing.  When Trey walks up he smiles at the boy.

<A human with two Yeerk parents,> Corliss muses.  <He's a biological oddity.>

<Yeah, maybe where we're from, mate,> says Mike.  <Who knows what year or planet or situation he's grown up in?  This place...it isn't-->

<He grew up in a place where Yeerks were allowed to permanently morph into human form,> Corliss interrupts, mostly talking to himself.  Mike sighs inwardly, but his Yeerk comrade goes on, <Where Yeerks will have been allowed the power to morph at all.  Like Elayne, he's from a place...from perhaps a future...where things are...>

<Different,> Mike says with finality, laughing.  <You can say that again.>

He seems to realize he's staring at Trey, and he blinks himself out of his internal reverie.

((Thordon is at the bar next to The Director. He looks like a human but has four arms.))

As the tall cloaked being approaches the bar, The Director says blatantly, "Aren't you a biggin'? How tall are you anyway?"

((Thank you you two))

The cloaked being turned its gaze onto The Director. It was impossible to see under the hood, it seemed to be a hole into nothingness. It hunched over the director concentrating on the being before it. "Hmm, big?" The being's head tilted slightly. "I suppose by your standards..." It straightened up to it's full height, or how large he could get without wacking it's head. "I'm nine feet tall, or 275 centimeters, but that is going my the human measuring system..."

"The Director whistle's impressedly, "Well, hang around 'em long enough, and you start to get used to it, eh? Though sometimes it's good to go back to bein' yourself by yourself. Wouldn't ya say?"
