((lol ok then))

As the guy that he asked who he was walked up towards the bar, Paul told Belzar "Hold on a 'sec. We need to strip his armour."

Seeing a woman standing near him, he asked her "Who was that?"

Belzar placed the soldier on the ground and waited for Paul to tend to the armor. It was unfamiliar, and he didn't want to mess anything up. "Hello Keshin. Doing well?"

Terenia's brows furrow at Elayne's narration of the boys story. She wants to ask further questions, but decides against it. So far this bar has shown her that more knowledge tends to equate to further complications.

"Yes, poor boy," she mutters, very little remorse in her voice, "Must be hard to go on without his daddy to guide him."

At his table, Trey snorts in his sleep slightly, his face contorting in mild pain, as though he is fighting against some sort of demon in his sleep.

"I don't think he's necessarily keeping secrets maliciously, Mar," Elayne said, looking to him. "We haven't heard the full story, but he's had a lot more to think about than explaining his history to us. Besides," she added, glancing to Trey over her shoulder, "he's probably worried on some level we're lying and waiting for a chance to turn him in." Turning back around to face Terenia and Corliss, she took another sip from her bottle, idly tapping the neck with a dirty, short nail.

Keshin notes Belzar and smiles, shrugging. "Yeah, we're doing alright. Just a run-of-the-mill day in the Space Bar. Ships, men who mutter nonsense about weird aliens...come to think of it..."

Keshin pauses. <Hey, Joanne...exactly how long have we been screwing around in this place?>

<I dunno, Kess. Feels like it's been at least a week since we returned. Maybe two weeks?>

<...clearly this place is casting a spell on us.>

<Nah. It's just that all the action happens right here.>

Keshin rolls his eyes and then turns back to Belzar. "You doing alright?"

Mar nods quietly, glancing towards the bartender. "A drink, please," Mar mutters, figuring the liquor will get to him shortly. "I suppose the boy has been troubled. It's possible that he doesn't even know what happened. As for the latter notion..."

Mar gestures out into the air, looking bored. "...if the number of peculiar events and people hasn't convinced the fellow that this is not where he came from, then I have no idea what will."

"...I am fine. I'm not in danger of breaking down, and am prepared to patiently wait for my people to find me. I'm sure they are searching the planetoids as methodically and efficiently as possible. Thanks for asking."

Elayne laughed and nodded in agreement with Mar. "He should be glad to be here. Hopefully, if a third ship doesn't crash-land on his head or another Andalite-Imperial shootout doesn't break out, he should be relatively safe here."

Turning her eyes on Corliss, she asked, "So where have you been? Did you just get back?"

Corliss listens to the conversation, smirking a bit.  He puts a hand up to his mouth and leans conspiratorially over to Mar.

"Ya are a madman, though, y'know," he whispers loudly, with a grin.

He turns to Elayne and folds his hands in front of him on the bar, still smiling.  "Yeah, just came in looking for my brother.  Mike and I headed back 'ome, as in the base.  It's a bloody mess over there, relocation's a real bastard of a cog.  But we made out clean this time, really lucky.  Very few casualties, no known security breaches.  So I've been 'elping them, like, off and on.  They were in real need of groceries.  Now there are a few things you don't want to get in the middle of when you're stuck in space with a bunch of humans: Cigarettes, chocolate, and alcohol.  And maybe toothpaste and stuff like that."  He shakes his head.  "Like a bunch of whiny, untended grubs on oatmeal, the lot of them.  Never mind we really need things like water and plant food and canned goods."

<Oy, look who's talking, mate,> Mike interjects silently.  <Mister 'please pick up some Coco Pops'...Christ in 'eaven.>

<Well.  That's your fault, you know.>

<Oh, please.  A week off of the stuff and I won't touch it.>

Corliss clears his throat and goes back to smiling.

Elayne snorted in amusement, although she suddenly found her mouth watering at the mention of chocolate. "Oh, I could really go for a Snickers right now," she sighed. If there was one industry that Earth would never have to worry about going under, it was desserts and candies; Andalite visitors to the planet kept Mars, Cadbury, and Hershey in better business than even humans ever had. "I can't say I blame them, Corliss," she told him with a grin. "I remember how my friend's parents would always tell us the chocolate they brought backpacking was reserved for an emergency--a time when their bodies really needed energy--but it was always gone by the end of the first day anyway."

Keshin bods at Belzar's comment, but then thinks on it a bit. "Huh," he states, frowning. "You think that they'll come looking for you right away, Belzar? I mean..."

Keshin paces around the area a bit lazily. "...if most soldiers got lost somewhere, it would take a while for them to get a search team together. Heck...it might take a while for the higher-ups to even give them the authority to go searching. Why do you think your guys would be so quick?"

<Oh don't pester 'im, Kess.>

<Just curious. The robot's pretty weird.>

Mar groans and rolls his eyes in Corliss' general direction. He then mutters, "Yes yes, make fun of the properly dressed stranger and his odd comments. Of course I think that your sort is a bit mad for attempting to fight such a vast infastructure with such limited resources. Though that might actually make me a hypocrite; I began by doing approximately the same thing."

Mar then snickers when he hears Elayne's comment about the chocolate, grasping his wine as it comes in his general direction. It looks as though the bartender already knows what he prefers. "I suppose you never saw a drop of chocolate yourself, then. How sad. Ordinarily I would make you something addictive and sweet to compensate for your loss, but by doing so I would blow my shoulder open."

"Ah. Well...I'm sure they are proceeding as quickly as practical. Maybe they didn't begin immediately, and may have taken some time to come up with a plan of action." Belzar said. Really, he hadn't given it a whole lot of thought and just assumed they would come for him as soon as possible. He really didn't want to think that they may deem him expendable and not worthy of much effort. He was, afterall, just one soldier of many.

"I just need to keep telling myself that they are coming, and I won't do anything irrational."

Corliss smirks at Mar.  "Good, then, it's settled.  We're all mad, here.  And please don't go about conjuring things if it's gonna bloody kill you."

He leans over to Elayne, whispering loudly, "Hell, don't spread it round that chocolate's actually good for you in any way...it'll only encourage 'em.  We can't get it near as much, as it is.  And do you know how annoying it is to have a chain smoker operating a Bug fighter?  You've been in a smoker's car, yeah?  Imagine it with the windows all up.  Humans...even after all these years, I can't understand the need to destroy each other, and themselves.  Reckon it's their minds, all split in two like this.  Speaking of crazy people."

The Director walks in the back door and announces to no one and everyone what happened. "Ggod lord, that was fun. Ship, crashes in the middle of a lake, still on fire of course. A robot somehow gets on top of it and jumps inside. Bullets go flying, then mr four-arms here flys in, lifts the whole thing out of the water, places it on shore, without even touching it I might add; and fles off as fast as he appeared...without a word. This place is fantastic! How I've never heard of this place is beyond me. Here I am, travelling through space and time for the last 600 years and I've not once ended up here. HA! Oooh, I love this job."

As he spoke he made his way back to the bar and ordered another lager. He held it high and said, "To where ever the hell I really am. Cheers."

She gave a bland smile in response to Corliss. "No kidding. Humans are absurdly destructive. They set arbitrary rules as to what is right and proper, and then go about destroying anyone and anything that doesn't comply. Maybe it's a species-wide sickness."

Her musing was interrupted by the other strange British-sounding man's re-entrance into the building. She glanced at him over her shoulder and then sighed, returning her gaze to Corliss, Terenia, and Mar. "Speaking of crazy people, indeed," she muttered. "Don't tell me we have another immortal, normal-laws-of-physics-breaker in the Bar."

Terenia, who had been lost to a slightly glazed look at the mention of chocolate, shakes herself out of it at the reappearance of The Director.

"Yeah, he's an odd one," she says in a hushed voice, "dunno if I feel much like getting into conversation with him. That....pleasant, excited way of talking he has bothers me. I feel like he's covering something up."
