The Director turns and starts to run sideways as he acknowles the woman who called out to him, "Oh, it wos a ship? Well, that fantastic! I wos hoping a meteor, or something, but a ship's even betah!" He turns again and continues to run toward the crash.

He comes to a small body of water and finds the ship still half on fire and isolated in a lake. A robot was on top of it searching for an opening. The Director stood at the shore line and shouted out, "I think you'll find all the entrances are partially under water! How strong are you; could you pull the ship out of the water? I'd like to help, but I'd prefer to not get wet."

((Chad, remember Hunter said it landed in water. Hunter, how shallow is shallow? I consider 3-4 feet shallow. That's what I'm "seeing" anyway.))

((yeah, about that))

Paul, still sitting in the pilots seat, he quickly injected himself with his last stim-pack. Standing up, he looked through the ****pit window and he noticed that the ship was half submerged.

Running into the cargo bay, he noticed that a couple of the smaller Zerglings had managed to get onboard while he was trying to escape.

Flicking the safety off on his C-14 rifle, he started to fire. Hitting one of the Zerglings square in the mandibles, it dropped instantly with a sickening thud. Screaming "C'mon you alien f***s! EAT SOME!" The other Zergling then launched at him.

Dropping his rifle, he let loose with a right hook, which made the alien slam into the wall of the ship, causing the wall to buckle a little. As it was trying to get up, Paul picked up his rifle and he emptied at least two dozen rounds into its side, a few of which penetrated right through and shot out the side of the ship.

"I'm fine," Elayne shook her head, and then immediately wrapped her arms around Mar. Although her eyes were dry, her next exhalation sounded almost like a sob. "I thought it was going to hit the Bar. I thought everyone in there was--" she cut herself off and shook her head. It was true that he had told her he was not so mortal as the body he inhabited, but she still didn't relish the idea of him being hurt. Besides, she rather liked him in this body; he was charming.

Elayne fought back the blush that was suddenly spreading on her cheeks by focusing on answering his questions. "I don't know exactly what happened; if I had to guess what it was, I would say a ship, but it was such a fiery wreck, I couldn't tell for sure."

Keshin blinks oddly at the trenchcoat man's response as he darts past them. Keshin holds up his hand. "Well, uhm...goodbye then." Keshin stands in that spot for a few moments and then begins to follow him. <I don't want to go near the wreck, but now I'm getting interested.>

<Thought you said we should wait till' it stops bein' dangerous.>

<Yeah, but...don't you want to know who that guy was?>

<......you're right. Looked interestin'. Not a lot of people who'd run towards a crash.>

Keshin then wanders off towards the direction of the lake, stepping over various cooling pieces of the ship as he moves forward.

Mar grins widely as Elayne hugs him and pats her lightly on the back. "Now now, dear. The Bar is fine, and I am apparently in no danger. I was more worried about you. I can record my incarnations, but you cannot. If you left so early..." Mar glances off. "...it would feel like we spent no time at all together. Though I suspect I will have that impression regardless. Humans are ever so short-lived."

Mar then glances off in the direction the fireball went, backing up a bit from Elayne. He folds his arms. "Hmn. We could go after it, but the irritating thing is probably still on fire. And I'm hardly immune as I am, nor in any other state. Matter-based flame can be...a dangerous substance for me to deal with, although weak in comparison to Higher forms of Light. Either way we would both get burned."

(I kind of forgot how he described the location of the ship.)

""I am not capable of swimming, nor am I waterproof." Belzar said as he tried not to fall into deep water. He heard shots firing, and thought there must be a battle going on. "Nor am I truly combat ready."

He found a place where the hull was breached, and ripped it open enough to enter. Once inside, he began to make his way towards the sound. He hoped he could avoid the rooms that already had water in them.

Elayne dropped her arms and took a step back as well, her blush slowly receding behind her long hair and her shirt's collar. "Let's stay back until it's not so dangerous. I'm surprised we made it unhurt through the first search-and-rescue mission of the day; I'm not really ready to try my luck again." She smirked up at him. "Like you said, my life'll already be too short, as it is." She looked beyond him at the Bar. "Back inside?" she asked.

As the robot responded to The Director's question, he became confused at the answers given. If the robot wasn't waterproof, how in the world did he manage to get on the ship in the first place? How did he intend on getting back to the shore? He scratched his head and shrugged them off. He heard the gunshots and his face perked up in a surprise curiosity. He really wanted to know what was going on, but he really didn't want to get wet either. "Well, this is just annoying." He heard a few more rumbling in the ship and then more gunfire. This time a few bullets flew past him. He ducked down to avoid any stray shots. He then looks behind him to see if anyone following was hit.

Belzar looked back at the person who had spoken earlier. "This place may be unsafe for lifeforms. Maybe even unsafe for me. There are rocks in the shallows that you could use to traverse, but the ship seems to be sinking or flooding."

The Director heard the robot calling to him while inside the ship. He yelled as he responded, "No, that's alright. I don't exactly have a cleaning service on-call out here you know."

Trey stands somewhere between the woods and his father's unmarked grave, looking bewildered at the sudden flurry of action. In the aftermath of the crash everyone seems to have forgotten him and now his next course of action is entirely unclear. His first inclination is to follow Elayne, but then he sees her embrace the strange man with the gauntlet. They seem to be sharing a private moment, so Trey remains where he is, halfheartedly kicking the recently turned dirt near his father's grave.

"Fine mess you left me in," he says to the dirt pile conversationally.

--

The rumbling of the bar settles after a few moments, and Terenia lets out a sigh of relief. Suddenly she realizes that her left hand is still clutching Corliss' shirt sleeve quite ardently. She releases it, flushing as she emerges from beneath the bar.

"What was that?" she demands abrasively, covering her embarrassment with anger.

Lucan remembered a few times he had been betrayed by individuals he thought to be friends and allies. "The highest disgrace and dishonor is the act of betrayal. I would sooner slit my own throat than commit an act of betrayal." He got a very intense look in his eyes and his spots turned a dull gray.

The look and color lasted only a few seconds before Lucan relaxed. He looked at Genie with a half-smile and said. "I can't promise you that I won't run headlong into a fight though." Lucan's spots and eyes turned a black in color and his golden pupils sparkled as he started laughing.

(( Johnny talkin here. Hey Hunter nice dude. Mad props on the Starcraft reference I am a HUGE fan of the game and its nice to meet another. However that also means that you better be accurate dude  :P ))

Genie shrugged. "In his defense, there wasn't much he could do about it. He couldn't exactly stop the yeerk from having me infested." She sipped her brandy. "It's just... still. One of those things that leave a mark."

She smiled. "It's one thing to run headlong into a fight. It's another to never consider the possible consequences."

Upon getting in range of the ship, Keshin can't help but note that there is nothing even remotely safe about it. The ship is at least half underwater and getting worse by the second. The man in the trenchcoat seems to be outside it, but he clearly can't do anything with the ship in the position it's in. That robot named Belzar is on top of the ship, looking for a way inside. <Well, this isn't going to work. Even if there was a pilot, we'd just be committing suicide by attempting to help him or her. We're not action heroes.>

<But we can' jus' leave 'em in there!>

<Do you see any other option?>

<Well...not really...maybe the robot'll find somethin'!>

Keshin wanders toward the more human of the two other people and gestures toward the ship, stating, "What do we do? It looks like there's no way to approach this thing at all."

Mar nods, gesturing towards the Bar with a grin and drifting on ahead. "Better safe than sorry, dear. We have no idea what is happening with that thing and it is better not to find out. If we continue to involve ourselves in other people's problems, you might get hurt. And I am not willing to take that chance."

Mar looks at Elayne questioningly. "The dead man is fully in the ground, isn't he?"

Elayne nodded. "Yes, the robot and I buried him, and..." she stopped and turned to look behind her; she had forgotten Trey. The boy was still standing by his father's grave. Not sure if he wanted to remain there or not, she called out to him, beckoning with a questioning expression. "I don't want to leave the poor kid by himself," she murmured to Mar. "He's gone through a lot, and if he's handling his father's death anything like I handled mine, he'll have to be watched pretty closely."

"This ship is unsafe!" Belzar yelled, hoping to get the attention of anyone inside. "Make yourself known and I will aid you!"

(I'm actually flashing to the movie I Robot right now.)
