Keshin gestures in the general direction of the asteroid's shipyard. "I came from over there. I needed to feed, and after what we've heard about how that works out in the Bar we're not taking any chances." Keshin rolls his eyes. "But then again you can't even take a **** in this place without something happening."

Keshin then looks down at the dead boy. "Sorry about this guy. So who did they turn out to be, anyway? What do you know about them? I don't think I was paying attention."

"I mean that Myitt sold it to me," says Mar matter-of-factly, folding his arms. "She did so partially out of compassion and partially out of fear. She was afraid due to her own mistake and I did not threaten her. She was unfamiliar with my world and did not follow my instruction not to worry too much." Mmm..not exactly true but it's also not a lie.

"And I doubt that she believed in what I was doing," states Mar with a grin. "This variation has hardly any belief in things higher than herself, which is mainly due to upbringing. But I know that if you ask Myitt, she will tell you that I have done impossible things before and that I have with another's help done something that cannot be a trick. Call it magic or the mechanics of having so much mass. I am what I am, and I know what I can see."

Elayne turned her eyes on the fresh grave as well and began, "He is--" before she stopped herself. The last time she had given Keshin information, everything had gone to hell. She returned her gaze to the bounty hunter. "They were on the run. I'm glad they found the Bar at a quiet time; maybe Trey can repair his ship in peace and find a way out of here. And so long as we don't have any more shooting matches, this will be a good place for him to rest."

Elayne looked at Trey, who was looking a little more put-together than before. She was interested in his emotions; most Yeerks never talked about their parents, as Yeerks in their natural state always died when they gave birth. It was incredible to her that it only took one generation of nothlits for Yeerks to become much more human in their parental attachment. As touching as it might be, she reminded herself, isn't that what you're fighting against? You want Yeerks to be free to be Yeerks--not to be humans.

She walked to Trey and put a hand on his shoulder. "Ready to go in?" she asked, wanting to remove him from this very human-feeling burial.

Corliss shakes his head.  "I knew this place was bad ****ing news.  As if we didn't have enough problems, now she's back to hanging round where people are bartering for souls and who bloody knows what else."  He looks around.  "Then again, here I am, going after 'er.  I suppose I'll have to ask Myitt just what exactly happened between you."

"Yes," Trey nods, turning away from the grave with Elaynes guiding hand. As he does so he casts a sheepish grin in Keshin's direction.

"I don't know about getting out of here anytime soon," he admits, "I don't know anything about ship mechanics. My....father...was just beginning to train me as a pilot, but I wasn't allowed near ships in the dormitory, and I just got released about six months ago."

The heavily damaged UED DropShip jumping out of hyperspace near the closest inhabited planet, the marine piloting it saw the computer indicate a little planetoid with a few signs of life.

Flicking the ship on auto-pilot, the marine heard a slight hissing noise start to come from inside the cargo area. Grabbing his C-14 rifle, he closed his visor and he opened the door to the cargo bay. Seeing a Zerg Hydralisk feasting on his brother, he emptied about two dozen rounds into the back of its head.

The Hydralisk dropping like a tonne of bricks, the Marine kicked the lifeless alien off his brother and he jammed a Stim-Pack into the neck of his brother and fellow member of the 'Black Angels' Marine Squad.

"Don't die, you ass!" Paul, the younger marine yelled at his brother as he gained some sembalance of conciousness.

"Paul..." his brother coughed "Run, Paul! Get outta this mess. Tell the people the truth about what happened on Tarsonis..." David said between coughs of blood.

David, before dying from lack of blood and the Hydralisk poison, his last words were "See ya, on the other side..."

----

The ships computer beeping something about an imminent crash, Paul didn't have time to brace himself for what happened next. As the dropship plummeted through the atsmophere, the shell started to crack and burn due to the severe re-entry heat.

Running over to the control stick, Paul yanked it backwards, hoping to level out before they plummeted into the only building within 10 miles. Managing to miss the building by meters, the ship thundered overhead just over Mach 2, bits of flaming shell flying everywhich way.

Deploying the emergency 'chutes, the ship shuddered as it took the brunt of slowing down from twice the speed of sound to just over 300 mp/h.

The 'chutes failing, the flaming ship fell to a gigantic splash of epic proportions in the shallow edge of a large lake about 3 miles behind the building.

((there! I've posted!))

((:edit: to clear up any confusion, Paul survived the crash. he's currently trying to get out of the slowly sinking dropship and his bro is lying dead in the cargo bay))

"Released?" Elayne echoed Trey, then stopped dead at what sounded like a rocket or a missile incoming, and fast. Seizing Trey's arm, she stumbled backwards into Keshin, not bothering to apologize in her hurry to move towards the woods, away from the ever-growing sound.

Just then, the source came into view over the planetoid's horizon. It was burning from the residual effects of entering the atmosphere, and it was much larger than she expected. "Good god, it's a ship," she whispered, although the sound could not be heard. How many crash landings can this place sustain in a day?! she wondered wildly, and then stumbled over a root and went down on her back, hard. Craning her neck, she raised her head; what she saw horrified her. "It's going to hit the Bar!" she cried, trying to get to her feet. Mar! she panicked.

By the time she was standing, her fear had been proven wrong, but only barely. The ship had just missed the building as it had skidded past at a slowing but still unbelievable speed toward the lake. Elayne put a hand over her heart, her shoulders sagging in relief that the Bar had not been hit.

Trey's eyes widened in fear as Elayne yanked him back into the tree line, yelling something that was suddenly inaudible over an incredible roaring noise. He had just enough time to see what looked like a pyre of flame shooting through the sky before Elayne tripped and fell, yanking him down with her. He landed on his butt hard, eyes still fixated on the fiery missile as it narrowly avoided the bar and crashed somewhere behind it. Where it had crashed must have contained water, because the roar was replaced with a hiss of steam and a white cloud of it was thrown up into the air.

"What the - what was that?" Trey stammered, his eyes still the size of portable Yeerk pools.

----

Terenia stiffened in her chair as the bar suddenly began to shake, pulling her attention away from Mar and Coliss. She dropped her drink and jumped to her feet simultaneously. The drink fell away to the floor, shattering against the wood and spilling a citrus-smelling alcohol. With her now free hands she grabbed at one of her Dracon Beams, pulling them both from her holsters, even though she could already tell that whatever was making the sound was too large for her pathetic weapons.

"Get down!" Terenia cried to Corliss. She doubted that she could be heard over the strange roar and the rattling of glass bottles, but she reached for him regardless. She grabbed him by the forearm with her free hand and yanked as she herself ducked under the lip of the bar for protection.

Belzar saw the sight of the ship crash, and braced for the impact. Once the tremors stopped, he started making his way to the burning rubble. Not bothered by any heat or smoke, he began searching around for a point of entry.

Genie shifted uncomfortably. "An old friend of mine got taken a few weeks before. He..." She stabbed at her food. "Let's just say he, or his yeerk anyway, betrayed me and leave it at that."

She sighed, relaxing a little. "That was a few years ago now." Genie grimaced. "I have a feeling he's dead now, anyway." She paused, considering how that sounded, then shook her head. "He was one of those reckless types, the kind who think they're invincible and run headlong into situations without really thinking first." She shrugged. "From what P knows, it sounds like his yeerk was a good fit for him in that way."

The Director looked at the ceiling as the bar began to shake. "Well, that's my cue." He put the nearly empty glass of lager on the bar, ran around Mar and the little group surrounding the female, and bursted out of the back door. He looked in the sky and saw a trail of smoke that lead to wherever the crash site was. He kept his eyes on the trail and darted off to see what had happened.

((Okay, post time. Sorry I've been busy the past couple days. x3 ))

Keshin nods a bit at what Elayne has to say. It makes sense in general. A lot of people seem to come to the Bar because they're running away. Either running away temporarily like Myitt or the two of them, or trying to start a new life like the boy and his father. <What a rough thing it must be for this kid. I---oh ****!>

Keshin immediately darts away to find cover as soon as he hears the missile-like sound, expecting an attack. What he sees however is much more fiery...and doesn't appear to be landing on the Bar or any of them. Keshin breathes a sigh of relief and walks back out into the open, very nervous. He looks around and calls out to the other people who were outside, hoping they're close enough to hear him. "Is everyone okay?"
**************************************************************************************
Mar grins nastily at Corliss. "Why yes. You should go ahead and do that...though I don't think it will get you very far. The poor dear will probably just be confused."

But before Mar can go any further with his conversation, the Bar begins to rumble. Mar glances around attempting to find the source and then realizes it must be coming from the outside of the building. Mar's eyes widen. Elayne! Mar then darts out of the Bar as fast as he can go, but quickly notes upon exiting that Elayne is not close enough to him to protect. Mar gulps and crosses his arms in front of him, intending to attempt to deflect whatever is coming regardless of whatever the effort does to him. Elayne's current body cannot be put at risk. He does not own her, and he does not want to lose such a benevolent variation so early.

However, the object passes over the area where it would cause the most damage. Mar looks toward it pensively, worried that some future harm may come of its landing. With any luck the problem is over.

Elayne watched Belzar motor off after the crashed ship, but she had no intention of following it just yet. She'd dealt with enough crash victims for one day already. As she turned to offer Trey a hand to stand, her eye caught Mar's familiar form outside the Bar. She was relieved to see he looked unharmed from this distance. "No clue," she responded to the nothlit's question, then called back to Keshin. "All fine over here.

"I'm going to head back to the Bar," she announced, walking towards Mar, having to skirt flaming pieces of debris as she neared. "Are you alright?" she called once she was in shouting distance of the strange mortal.

Keshin waits for a moment and then hears Elayne's voice saying "All fine over here" fairly loudly. Keshin nods quietly and glances around, unsure of what to do next. It wouldn't be wise to check out shape what the odd fireball (or perhaps a ship, judging from the shape) was in while it might still be burning. <I'm thinking that it's best for us to wait until the situation cools off.>

<...yeah. I wanna see if anybody made it out, but we can' just go bargin' in on somethin' like that. Maybe we can wait until the thing's ready.>

Keshin then notes that an odd man in a black trenchcoat is coming towards their general direction. Keshin frowns and waves his hand, calling out. "Hey! You okay? I think some kind of ship crashed over near the lake! Are you heading that way?"
*******************************************************************************
Before Mar re-enters the Bar, he notices Elayne skirting around the damage done to the ground and calling his name. Mar breaks out into a smile. Good, she's alright. He then darts the rest of the way towards Elayne and stops when he reaches her halfway.

"I'm...fine," stutters Mar a bit awkwardly. "When I saw the flaming object and heard rumbling I was...worried about you, dear! Such things are almost never a good sign. It looks like..." Mar tilts his head. "...that whatever it was landed somewhere less dangerous. My dear, did you see what happened? Are you injured?"
