Terenia shifts awkwardly in her seat as Corliss and Mar debate Myitt's soul. She has never been much of a believer in anything beyond the tangible, and the way Mar speaks of Myitt is unsettling. The word 'precious' seems almost sinister to her. She is about to turn away, but then Mar mentions that he is in love with Myitt, or at least with some aspect of her, and she can't help but let out a derisive snort, almost spilling her drink in the process. She puts a hand to her mouth, wiping it quickly.
"I'm sorry," she says insincerely, "that was rude."

Trey listens to Elayne and the robot talk to a newcomer, someone he has not seen before, but does not participate. He continues to keep his back carefully turned from the grave until the sounds of digging cease. When he turns around there is no more corpse, only a freshly turned pile of dirt. A feeling of relative ease settles over Trey, as though some of his grief had been buried right with his father's body. He is still far from okay, but he no longer feels as though he is about to suffer from a complete mental breakdown.
