Keshin raises an eyebrow at Myitt, who seems busy. He then grumbles irritably and sit down at the Bar, ordering an entire plate of macaroni and cheese. Keshin imagines that whatever happened will bleed out into the conversations of the other individuals present in the Bar.

The bartender is fairly quick about Keshin's order, and so Keshin quickly begins to scarf it down. <I haven't had this stuff in so long. And it's that crappy yellowish cafeteria kind too. How did he know?>

<That freak always knows, Kess.>

Mar shrugs in obvious confusion. He has no idea what the new humanoid is either, and it has not been here long enough to judge how dangerous it is. His plan is largely to watch the creature for any sudden moves. Mar recieves his wine quickly and he takes a long sip. He does remember how dangerous getting drunk in this form is, but he'd rather be drunk than anything else right now. Drunken hallucinations aren't anywhere near as bad as the kind of crowd that frequents the Space Bar.

Terenia regards Claxter through narrowed eyes, her arms returning their formerly crossed position. <It appears I have no choice,> she says, flicking her tail in a disdainful sort of way. She leads the way out of the Skimmer, heading directly for the area of parked ships near her own. As she walks she does not look back to see if Claxter is following, not even with her stalk eyes. She knows that he will be there so long as his Prince has ordered it.

When she arrives at her Bug Fighter she pauses, staring at the old, battered hull while she waits for Claxter to catch up, her arms still crossed and her expression still stony.

Claxter followed Terenia to her ship without saying a word. He may have made a comment like "Nice walk" to act friendly, but she would just get bitter. <Please proceed.> He said once he was inside. <I will remain out of view if you wish to use the viewscreen, or you can just use voice controls. He wondered if Visser Three himself would speak to her. That made him slightly nervous, but he wouldn't leave or show fear. His last act of fear made Efaen want to take Terenia back just so he would separate himself from her.

He glaced over her ship's controls, but decided tis time he would stay away from the buttons.

<So what do you do for fun, anyway?>

<Fun?> Terenia asks, raising a brow. She chooses not to indulge him. Instead she approaches the computer and keys in a couple of manual codes.

<Stand over there,> she instructs, pointing to a far corner, <otherwise you will be in view,> she pauses, looking at the ship controls expectantly until a green light flashes on. When Terenia speaks again she is addressing the communications array.

<I need an immediate feed to Visser Three's Blade Ship, BS-16-Bridge. Live transmission only,> she glances over to Claxter and says privately, <<do not say a word. Do not move, or you may kill us all.>>

Claxter stood pressed against the corner, stock still. Even his stalk eyes didn't scan the room. Nor did he speak privately to Terenia to elaborate on what he meant by fun.

It takes a minute or two for the signal to be returned. After all, it does have to travel through Z-space to the Blade Ship and back to wherever this planetoid is in the scheme of space. Finally, though, after a tense two minutes a holographic image appears. It is of a middle-aged human female with close-cropped black hair and brown eyes.

"Terenia? I would have thought you on your way home by now," the woman sounds surprised.

<Not quite yet, Yeriss,> Terenia says tersely, <I have a report, and I'm afraid it must be relayed directly to Visser Three. Patch me through to his present location.>

"And what is so important that the Visser must hear from you?" Yeriss sneers.

<That is none of your concern,> Terenia says, scowling, <but if you insist on involving yourself, check your backlog. You should have received a transmission not ten minutes ago regarding the Yeerks sent to retrieve me. I need to speak to Visser Three regarding their deaths.>

"Their what?" Yeriss' dark eyes narrow, but she seems convinced, "Hold."

She disappears from the screen and another moment of silence passes.

<<Now is when she runs off and tells Visser Three that I am a traitor, turning him against me before I have a chance to explain,>> Terenia tells Claxter with a touch of bravado, <<his 'wonderfulness' will be on in a moment, assuming he has the time to spare.>>

On cue, the hologram returns. This time the image on screen is not of the human. It is an Andalite face, with metallic blue fur and skin criss-crossed with old war scars. Even through the transmission feed his aura seems to darken the room. Terenia's look of boldness fades almost immediately.

<What is the meaning of this interruption?> Visser Three demands, his thought-speech filling the cabin.

Claxter's body stiffens, and it takes all his effort not to make a sound. It was the notorious abomination himself. Some called him stupid. Most called him frightening. Right now Claxter could see the frightening part. He calmed himself and focused. Prince Ossanlin would want to know everything that was said.

At Mar's shrug, Elayne watched him drink -- noting that it looked like a good idea -- and stole another glance at the strange newcomer before grabbing the bartender's attention. "And a beer for me," she said, lifting her bowl to take another sip. Her stomach grumbled again, but this time in satisfaction. "So do you two have to eat when you're in these bodies?"

Thordon tilts his head slightly, as the thought of "necessity" never entered his mind before. "I can not speak for Mar's mortal form, however my avatar is not mortal. It doesn't seem to need sustenance; I just enjoy the taste, it has a calming affect."

((Gah, my whole post deleted itself))

Terenia takes a moment to prepare herself before she speaks, knowing all too well that one wrong word will likely mean a world of pain later.

<Visser,> she says at last, <you sent two of your men to retrieve me. They have both been destroyed, along with the fighter.>

<What!?> Visser Three's nostrils flare, <you dare attack my->

<One of your soldiers sent out a transmission prior to his death,> Terenia interrupts quickly. Visser Three does not look too pleased by her cutting in, but he quiets, <In the transmission you will see nothing to indicate foulplay by me.> I hope, Terenia adds silently, having no real idea of what the transmission contains. <Your men were defeated because the planet I landed on seems to have a relatively large Andalite force. They are determined to destroy any sign of Imperials.>

<And yet you live,> Visser Three sneers, his eyes a collage of anger and amusement, <explain to me, my treacherous human, how that is so?>

<The Andalites are arrogant fools,> Terenia says, steeling herself to sound convincing as she crafts her lie, <they did not suspect that another Andalite could be taken by the Yeerks, and therefore did not question my presence. Evidently the bounty on my head has not spread as far as I had thought.>

Silence. Terenia's hearts are pounding and her lungs feel as though they are about to collapse. Visser Three seems to be considering her closely.

<Explain your continued presence at your current location,> Visser Three says at last.

<I...> Terenia hesitates, scrambling, <I wish to gather information from the Andalites. It may prove useful. Sir.>

<I would almost believe that,> Visser Three snorts, <if it were coming from someone who did not have a history of betrayal and foolhardiness. Yet...your unnoticed presence amongst the Andalites may prove useful,> he seems to be contemplating something, formulating a plan of sorts. Terenia waits, knowing better than to interrupt him a second time.

<Very well,> he says at last, <you will remain on the planet until your Kandrona runs out. Then you will return to me and perform a complete memory dump. If the information you provide is useful, you shall be rewarded. If not...>

He lets the threat hang, but suddenly the hologram changes. It is no longer Visser Three's face being projected, but that of a young woman, perhaps in her late teens or early twenties. She has long, tawny hair and pale gray eyes that are shining with fear. Terenia inhales sharply, her expression darkening with a mixture of pain and rage.

<I understand, sir.>

<Good. Do not fail me, Teresa. I am beginning to tire of your antics.>

The hologram disappears and the feed cuts off with a cackle, leaving Claxter and Terenia alone in the ship. As soon as Visser Three is gone Terenia exhales the breath she had been holding throughout the conversation, collapsing against the wall.

"Perhaps I should explain a point," Morgan said after some consideration. "The dead man in question was...Caven's brother."

<A memory dump. Figures he would want that.> He hesitated to just run to Prince Ossanlin with the news. <The Abomination is truly a menacing figure, but I'nm sure we'll think of something.>

Parker stood motionless and said nothing. The details of "why" meant nothing to him, he awaited strategy and orders.

Terenia fixes Claxter with a glare filled with hatred. When she speaks her thought-speech is boiling with fury and pain.

<Yes, I am sure your mighty prince Ossanlin will make everything better, won't he?> she spits, <I am sure he will find just the perfect way to save Tamara, to save me, to save Efaen and we'll all just sit around in a big f***ing happy circle hugging each other and singing Kumbaya. Are you actually that deluded? Do you really think there is a solution here that doesn't involve one of us dead or in a worse situation than we are already?>

Terenia turns away from him, struggling to control her rage. She appears to be as close to tears as an Andalite is capable of coming. <Leave me alone,> she says, <wait outside if you don't trust me, but just...I need a minute. Or ten.>
