Efaen stops in the doorway of the first compartment and the main cabinet, resting a hand on the frame, her tail and stalk eyes drooping as she responds to Ossanlin.
<I do not know. We are not particularly valuable, but Visser Three is not known for his stable mental health, and I believe that he has taken a sort of...twisted liking to Terenia and her situation. If he thinks that I am free then he will regard me as a threat, no doubt. Terenia knew things that she should not, but he could buy her silence with her sister. He has no such leverage with me. I find it likely that he will send reinforcements. A bounty hunter, or sniper if he is being more level-headed. An armada if he is feeling particularly arrogant and fool-hardy. I cannot imagine him pulling out of range of Earth...but you can never tell with him.>
She sighs again, a look of pain on her face, <I am sorry that I brought this upon you.>
She cannot bear to listen to the conversation any longer, disappearing into the compartment and shutting the door behind her. She orders it to lock, but has no idea if it actually does, or if the computer even knows how to respond to thought-speech.
Just as Efaen suspected, this compartment contains the portable Yeerk Pool housing Terenia. She looks down to it, anger and frustration clouding her vision. <<What in
yaolin have you gotten us into, human?>> she asks in a private whisper. Terenia does not respond.
((Tara, I have no idea if the door can actually close or not. I'll fix it if that doesn't work.
