((ok, time for my own novel....sorry guys))
<What are you looking for?> Efaen asks as Terenia continues to root through the compartments. Terenia does not respond directly, concentrating on her hunt.
<You know, Efaen,> Terenia says as she searches, <I don't know why you are so eager for your freedom. What good has it ever done you? What do you have to go back to? Are you going to spend your time grazing on the homeworld and gardening? No, I can see what you want, and it will never work. No Prince will take you, and even if they do you are a female. Just because they are allowing females in the military, that does not mean they are of equal standing. If you truly want to destroy Yeerks, if you truly want to join this war, then there is another way.>
<Which is what, precisely? Being a mere vessel to your desires? My goal and yours are different in this war.>
<True,> Terenia says, pulling something out from the compartment and looking pleased. It is a pouch, which when she opens it shows various different vials, each labeled in Yeerkish. <But it doesn't have to be like that.>
<You cannot trick me with that Yeerk propaganda, Terenia,> Efaen warns, <I am not some weak, ignorant human that you can manipulate at your whim.>
<No, you aren't,> Terenia responds, <You're a mighty Andalite, with a glorious, honorable cause. I get it. I won't pull the same bull**** that they pull at The Sharing, you know as well as I do that it is exactly that: bull****. But I can make you a promise.>
Efaen does not answer, determined not to show interest, despite the fact that Terenia can sense her curiousity.
<You know I will not leave my sister's side, not so long as she is working for that over-zealous oaf, Visser Three. But I can promise you that once she is safe I will join you on your cause.> Terenia pauses, waiting for Efaen to take the bait.
<Why would you do that...?> Efaen asks slowly.
<The Yeerks and the Andalites may be equally deplorable, but it is the Yeerks who are taking over my homeworld,> Terenia shrugs and moves over to her collapsible Yeerk Pool, setting it up, <It isn't in my best interest to go around frying Yeerks now, but that doesn't mean it won't be in the future. I can make it be in my best interest. Tammy comes first, though. You help me, I'll help you. It's more than your own military can offer you. You know I can get closer to the Yeerks than they ever can.>
<I do not->
<Listen, Efaen,> Terenia says, taking a packet out of the satchel and mixing it in with the Yeerk Pool. It slowly turns the color and texture of sludge. <I am going to restrain you, as I normally do to feed. I am then going to inject you with a serum that will knock you out shortly after I exit you. Perhaps you will have time to yell for help, perhaps not. Perhaps I will be able to feed and rejoin you, perhaps they will find you here and you will escape. Either way the most I can buy myself is three days. I can't keep this up forever. So think about my offer. You have seen, through my memories, what your people are capable of. You know that you cannot trust them, or their promises.>
<Prince Ossanlin might allow me to fight alongside him,> Efaen protests.
<Maybe,> Terenia allows, setting up the restraints. One for each of Efaen's legs, one for her neck, one to weigh down her tail and one for each arm. The only restraint she leaves open her right arm, otherwise, she is locked in tight. <He may take you, he may even promise you equality...but most bigots do not know they are bigots.>
<This is->
<Enjoy your freedom, Efaen,> Terenia says, picking up one of the vials. She pulls the the cap off and the end is a long needlepoint. Quickly she injects the liquid into Efaen's left arm, replaces the top, and restrains her free arm. Almost immediately, Efaen's head begins to swim. Terenia begins to disconnect from her host.
<Remember my offer.>
Efaen slumps against her restraints, falling slowly unconscious. A moment later Terenia plops unceremoniously into the Yeerk Pool. For both Yeerk and host, the world goes black.
