((Parker, Terenia, Alic, Chad...this post concerns all of you the most, though it conerns everyone really. *facepalm* seven more pages, and yes I went two days without posting a real post, I'm sorry. Dang I missed a bunch... ))
Ossanlin watches as events unfold and learns the human-yeerk-andalite has an involuntary host. He tries not to get involved...the andalite female should not be infested involuntarily, no being should be, yet this was not black and white. Nothing ever was. Shades of gray abounded here...
As Alic gives him a sad smile and runs outside his hearts leap and his midsection clenches. He could not stay uninvolved if Alic did not. He leaps over the table he'd been standing behind, hooves clattering on the hardwood floor as his tail swings and knocks a chair over in his haste. He gallops out the double-swinging doors almost buffeting Corliss. He doesn't even apologize to his friend because of his state of mind.
<Aliciania! NO! Think about what you are saying...what you are suggesting! Really THINK about it! You cannot allow yourself to be infested. I...I know you love your father, I know you want to free him from that psycopathic Yeerk, but this is NOT the way. There are so many things that could go wrong...>
Ossanlin gallops up next to Alic and lays a hand on her shoulder, his face painted in worry. <This is not the way....> Then in private thought-speech... <<I couldn't bear to see you infested...I couldn't bear to lose you. We can find another way, I will promise you another way if you will stay and not risk yourself like this...>>
Ossanlin looks over to Claxter and goes back to regular thought-speech that everyone can hear. <You did well Claxter, but please holster your weapon...that won't help anyone here.> ((OOC: Chad, if Claxter already put the shredder away let me know and I'll alter the post. I can't remember and I can't bear to go back and read it all again.))
<I would ask the same of you soldier.> Ossanlin regards Parker with his main eyes. <I do not condescend when I say you know nothing of our war. You are at war with some organization known as the Covenant, was it? What you ask us to do here, is nothing short of betrayal. You sympathize with the human-nothlit, yet you disregard the Andalite who is being controlled. You are condemning someone to a life of slavery to possibly save another. You place a higher value on the captured being's life. Would you deliver one of your soldiers to these Covenant to be tortured mercilessly so that one already in the captivity of your enemy may survive in a slave camp? Covert operations? You seem to forget one thing, there is an involuntary party involved in this multi-year covert operation. Would you allow an unknown mercenary to kidnap one of your soldiers and force them to take part in a covert operation under duress and endless torture to possibly preserve the life of another unknown mercenary whom has already been enslaved so that they may continue to endure their own torture? If you could save your abducted soldier, would you really allow the unknown mercenary to take him against his will again, and with your blessing no less? You claim that we see only one side of the issue, yet you are guilty of exactly the same thing.>
Ossanlin looks up to Terenia with his main eyes. <We...cannot allow you to leave like this. I apologize, and I am truly sorry for your situation. I am being sincere. I know your opinions on our species and most of them are justified, but those of us here do not protect only andalites. We would not allow ANY involuntary controllers to leave without good reason. In fact, we recently liberated a human controller from involuntary infestation. We found her another host, a voluntary one, and she is on her way back to Earth.>
<We are trying to sympathize and we are trying to help. All of us are trying to understand your situation and render assistance, yet you balk at every turn. I do not lie when I say that you will NOT leave here without our help. If you decide not to leave, then there is less of an issue. I can assure you that if you do manage to get to your ship and escape the atmosphere, my Dome Ship which is in far orbit, will immediately apprehend you. If you fight, your fighter will be destroyed and then no one will be able to save your sister. Whether you want it or not, your only choice is to accept our help, or your years of work and suffering go to nothing.> Ossanlin takes a deep breath, still with his gaze locked on the eyes of the andalite female inhabited by the human-nothlit. <Now, why don't you come back inside. Relax a bit, have a drink, accept our offer to help or not, it doesn't much matter...you aren't going anywhere. I would like to help you, but the decision regarding our offer is yours. Stay or accept our help, those are your options.> Ossanlin continues to direct a level gaze in the direction of Terenia, one stalk-eye focusing on Alic, the other on Parker.
