Parker watches as Corliss repairs the ship further and hears Fox's request for their attention. He smiles at his first attempt at that. He walks over to Fox and lowers his speakers' volume, "Yeah, announcements don't do well here. No one's gonna stop just for you pal. Especially since you just showed up. Your best bet is to just ask as many people as you can. Believe me, I tried."

Parker thinks about going back to the bar since no one really needs him, but decides against it when he hears the banter between Corliss and Keshin about killing each other. He walks over to Corliss and asks, "Do those things have power; or should they be charged?"

(I must have missed Fox's announcement. Oops. Well, I could just have Claxter not hear him properly, as he's paying more attention to the others.)

Claxter was looking around with his stalk eyes like always, and noticed Fox seemed to be trying to get people's attention. <I'm sorry Fox. What was it you wanted to tell us?>

((As long as I'm not standing here.))

Fox looks at Parker and smilies, briefly. Fox crisses his arms and looks at Claxter and says: "My general just contacted me. He said that I have his full support and I also told him I would ask you. Do you want an army or not?" Fox goes back a few steps, looking at the group, an leans of his Arwing.

<Any help against the Empire would be appreciated. Prince Ossanlin over here would be better suited to plan for an alliance with your people, though. The Empire must be stopped, but I am willing to believe that the entire Yeerk race does not have to suffer for the betrayal of some of their members.>

"Ok. Thank you. Fox bow down slightly and puts his left hand on his chest while doing this. He then casually walks up to Prince Ossanlin and asks in a dignified manner: "Prince Ossanlin? I would like to discuss somthing with you if you don't mind."

((Yeah, sorry shorty, I figured Corliss was inside Terenia's ship so he couldn't hear.))

Corliss grins at Joanne.  "Well.  With regards to offing each other: As your people say, we'll cross that bridge when--and if--we come to it, eh?  For now I reckon we can get along.  And yes, Myitt has a great deal of respect for your skill, she has mentioned you before.  Really barely escaped from you, before.  But if you know 'er well enough, she's much more likely to take offense at someone jus' doing their job, even when their job is to try and end 'er life.  You can't blame her too much, though."

He nods at Terenia.  "My sympathies.  No Andalite in their right mind--with the small exception of my two old friends here--would ever issue any sort of aid to any Yeerk, regardless of his intentions.  Reckon it's fair to say that you work for a Yeerk, unless you work for someone with access to Yeerk technology."  Corliss steps away from the fuel panel.  "Fire up the engines, it should work.  Or it'll blow us all to hell."  The grin returns.  "Let's 'ope I've still got it, then."

((sorry my replies have been a bit off. For some reason when I load RAF on my phone it only shows some posts, not all of them....didn't get the first one where Corliss asked me to turn on the ship.))

<Right,> Terenia says, feeling uncomfortable by Corliss' analysis. She goes over to the main computer and boots it up. A humming noise fills the ship as the engines turn on, and the floor begins to vibrate softly. <Seems as if all is in order,> she reports. The hatch is still open, and she hears the fox-like creature mention an army. The words make her stiffen and spare those outside an extra stalk eye, but beyond that she makes no acknowledgment that she has heard anything.

"Hmm, sounds all right to me," says Corliss, prying back the humming panel and checking the coolant.  The heat the cells are giving off isn't too uncomfortable, which is a good sign.  "I reckon you're okay," he continues, sealing the engine panel again and grabbing the rag.  He hands it to Terenia.  "You getting along all right then?" He follows her stalk gaze to the hatchway, then looks back at her, concerned.  "Sorry, I don't mean to pry, but you aren't much on talking about your background.  I haven't exactly told you my life story, either, so we can leave it at that."

<I'm fine,> she says a little coldly. Then she softens, both her stance and her thought-speak tone, <I apologize. I didn't mean to get angry with you. I just...my life tends to be just one bit of bad luck piling up on another, and it puts me on edge sometimes. I'm stuck with a lot of potential enemies right now, and yet for some reason I am not inclined to leave. Sometimes I think I create the bad luck for myself.>

Terenia didn't mention that now she had another reason to stay. If she had heard correctly, then there was a possibility of a potential army uniting with the Andalites. That was information that her commander would definitely be interested in. Eager to learn more, she shut down the engines and exited the ship, choosing to stop near Claxter. He struck her as young and naive and, even though they had gotten off on the wrong hoof, a potential temporary ally.

Claxter gave a slight smile when Terenia came over. <Well, it looks like your ship will be operational. My ship is in top shape, but that may be all the more reason for my Prince to send someone after me. I'm afraid if someone does come looking for me, it won't be out of concern for my safety and wellbeing. However, hopefully we'll both get out of our immediate problems and move on with what comes next.>

Parker hears Claxter's mention of his ship being in top shape. "I thought you said your navigational computer was broken? You call a broken navigator 'top shape'?"

<Yes, hopefully,> Terenia agrees. She glances at the alien who professed to supply an army and asked Claxter privately, <<What do you think his deal is?>>

She didn't really expect Claxter to give a real response, but she was grateful for the small talk if nothing else.

"No worries, Terenia," Corliss says with a laugh.  "I know how that is, for sure."  He hops out of the ship and walks over to Claxter and Parker.  "What's going on, then?  Something about an army?"

<Oh, well. About the nav. See, it was kind of a lie because I didn't want people to know I had run away from battle. That's rather embarrassing, and we Andalites are big on honor culturally. I'd rather tell a lie than admit I was a coward.> <<I don't know what Fox's story is, but I directed him towards my new Prince because he's more likely to be able to read between the lines and find out what's what.>>

Parker nods once, "False intel, gotcha." Parker answers Corliss, "Fox says that his company is available to be out on loan to your war."
