Mar grins a bit at Breekan. "We all have days like that. Although I have a suspicion that you've had nearly as many as I have currently in the past. Crayak is a...rather demanding individual."

Mar then sends a private thought back to Ossanlin which states, <<Sorry. I don't know everyone in this Bar completely just yet. I've been mainly interested in you, Myitt, and those related to Breekan.>>

Thordon looked upon Breekan in almost horror. "You destroyed an entire civilization of people?" He then shot a glance to Mar, "What do you mean, 'We all have days like that.'? Have you done the same?"

<<I think she might not have heard you.  It's no problem, I'm just trying to avoid confrontation.  She would most-likely pick up a stool and try to hit you with it, or take a finger with her tail.  She....agrees with her father's actions.  I'm hoping she'll come to see reason after she gets a bit older, she's still very young.  At least as far as the war goes.>>  He glances at Mar and smiles again with his main eyes.

Ossanlin then turns his main eyes to Thordon.  <Thordon...the people here...they come from many different places and many different walks of life, not all of them sanguine.  But people do change.  Do you have any...well...evildo ers in your civilization?  Powerful beings who oppress and rejoice in shadow?  Well...Breekan's pseudo-father is something of a...well...a god in our Universe, opposed by another being of great power.  One can't really express in terms of black and white, but...Breekan's sort-of father, Crayak, is definitely the darker shade of gray.  And the Mar you see...well it's only a singular projection of a massive entity that is not truly guided by emotion.>  Ossanlin flicks his main eyes at Mar, knowing very well that that last part isn't entirely true.  <People who do not guide themselves by moral and emotional guidelines tend to do...ruthless things.  Logic can be cold, and desperation can make monsters in some cases.  But people do change, Breekan is not nearly the person he used to be, and Mar seems to be undergoing some change in the mortal form as well.>

"I understand that people change, I've been through many. But to wipe out an entire civilization... I'm sorry, I come from a very philanthropic society, we've never had any large problems with greed. Sure some might get a little over ambitious, but they could be reasoned with. The Sijrins seemed very guarded and rude at first, but after prolonged exposure, they became great allies. I'm not appalled at them, but their actions, past or not."

Thordon turns back to Mar, "I would wish to continue on to the group I meant to aid, however, I feel staying here and learning more of other spieces may benefit my people more. Also it's good to take a vacation every once in a while."

"It was a..." Breekan struggles to figure out how to put it. "I was a different person then. But a bit less figuratively than people usually mean that. Like, if you built an evil brain and attached it to my real one, except the evil brain spans anywhere from the size of a peanut to the size of a galaxy, depending on circumstances, and also my brain is really just a nice bit of the evil brain that the evil brain spat out just so it could freak the good brain out by giving it a poke now and then. Or something."

Thordon gives a concernedly confused look to Breekan, "Uh-huh. Well, It's good that you've... changed." He takes another small drink from his glass.

Myitt grins at Ossanlin, then to no one in particular she adds, "Nice thing about war, maybe the only nice thing about it, is that it does change people.  Mortality changes people, and there's no better way to experience it than to confront it on a regular basis and in terrifyingly real situations.  Sometimes the change that occurs isn't a very good one.  But I think, in the case of most of us here, war has changed us for the better.  Maybe made us more jaded, but it's given us a reason to change."

"I thought the good thing about war was that you're fighting for something you believed in when others would hold you down. Although when your side happens to be the Yeerk side, that can get a bit conflicted."

Breekan grabs a stout from the Bartender and nods. "That's the trouble, isn't it? There's always going to at least be that One Side on the war that's more crazy than honorable- and whichever side that is depends on whichever side you're on." He takes a sip. "Really, I don't get it these days."

"Well," Thordon said after some thought, "Evil and honor are subjective terms, aren't they? When I 'saw' the dark world those people were lost on, the natives seemed to be in constant conflict. The planet was completely barren and cold; as though it were dead. So what they see as everyday life, we see as struggle, fighting, killing. It all depends on the person. that's mostly the reason I object to the act, not the person." He closed his sentence with a curt nod to Breekan.

"The world is a complicated place," states Mar, grabbing at what appears to be a glass of grape juice. He's totally done with the wine mess, after what happened. At least for now. "In order to survive, I must make myself known. However, my nature demands a rather crude and unpleasant way of doing this. I suppose it's my punishment for attempting to reach higher than what I was, and for my jealousy of what came after me." Mar chuckles a bit callously. "The me that existed once wouldn't even recognize the me that exists now. I have sometimes wished that he would grow interested and we would meet again."

Mar then sends a thought to Ossanlin. << I am but a single incarnation. When I return to the whole, nothing will have changed at all. He will recognize you, but you will be insignificant to him. I should hope that I reappear or he sees some use to my continued existence.>>

"Well, yes, that's exactly my point," says Myitt to Temrash.  "If I hadn't gotten involved in the war, if I were still on the homeworld, I wouldn't have gotten the same perspective I've gotten from all the people I've met out here in big bad space.  I might not have really liked taking a host, or I may never have taken one at all.  But I think really seeing and experiencing the pain that our people have caused made me learn to fight for what I believed in.  It provided the real antagonist that catalyzed my little career move."  She nods at Thordon and Breekan.  "It is all a matter of perspective, of course.  That's why we still can't get the Andalites to trust us, as a civil militia, simply because they don't understand or want to accept what we are."  She smiles at Ossanlin and Alic.  "Of course there are exceptions, but even you two don't have the power to sway the entirety of the Andalite population."

"'Stubborn-ness', heh. I find it funny, but the more stubborn the person in my world, the less strength their body had with the Element. Perhaps it's irony, or something genetic." Thordon again gets lost in thought.

Myitt smiles at Thordon.  "That's interesting.  Stubbornness in the Yeerk Empire can mean different things, depending upon whether you're in a position of power or not.  Those in powerful ranks tend to be rewarded for stubbornness, because it gives them an advantage over less determined rivals.  If you have the misfortune of being of a low rank, however, being stubborn will probably get you quickly killed.  There are ways of culling out those who dare to express their individuality, or their opinion, if it doesn't agree with Imperial dogma."
