Cale leaves the drink alone, turning his attention back to the youngling.

:...Cat Food...:

Speaking of which, he had run out of the delicious salty substance, he caught the Bartenders eye and ordered five cans this time, they were brought to him and he paid with rand.

Cale opened one of the cans and scarfed that down, but stacked up the others, eyeing the kid he took one down and offered it. Not something a Prawn usually did, especially with Cat Food.

:...Have some if you want...:

He placed the can on the edge of the table and returned his drink, which he had decided was made of one of the foulest substances he had ever tasted
He was distrustful of any of the humans here, they could be working for MNU, and this particular Prawn wished to avoid MNU.

Cale noted a feline creature come up alongside the kid, he was instantly wary of it, it might not be canine but he had had a pack of dogs set on him once and had barely escaped with his life, making him wary of all four-legged Earth creatures.

((Hey, Parker, try and hitch a ride with the Prawn if you want, he's not going anywhere anytime soon))

Keirdan scrunches up his face, and pushes the can back toward Cale. "No thanks mister. Cat food's pretty gross." He glances at Danika and smiles at her again. "Are you a person? I don't think I'm a person."

Mar nods. "I'm fine. The entire trip was so hectic that I swore I would have to die in order to prevent further problems." Mar chuckles quietly and glances over at Ardiss. "It seems I am alive after all, and so is this young lady."

Mar then pauses, glancing at Corliss himself. "I remember you from somewhere, before I ever entered this Bar. Though I doubt you remember the incident at all. It was during one of my previous trips. Regardless...I could say the same for you. It's been a very strange day. How did you end up in a fight with a higher demon?"

"I am fine," Ardiss says to both Corliss and Mar. She turns her back on them and approaches the bar. Upon scanning Christine's memories she finds that the human detests all beer.

"Bud Light," she orders. The bartender serves her up a tall draft and she leaves the money on the bar. Ardiss turns back, thinking momentarily about sitting at a new table, empty of companions to send the clear image that she is not interested in talking. After a moment of consideration she decides instead that she would rather complain a bit more about the injudicious loss of her ship. She plops back down in her desk with a scowl on her face.

"As I said, I am fine," she announces, "although I would be quite a bit better if I had means off of this wretched lump of floating rock."

"A person? I suppose all sentient beings are people. Though one's definition of people may change depending on who they are. Some species think of only their kind as people. You could say I'm a person, or you could say I'm just a talking animal." Danika said.

"I could take you somewhere if you want." Temrash said to Ardiss. "If you have anything specific in mind."

<Wouldn't you rather have a chocolate milkshake? I know I would.> Christine said as she tried to push the glass away with her arm. Which of course did nothing.

"No, nowhere specific," Ardiss says, taking a defiant sip of her beer and otherwise ignoring Christine. "However I can't stay here forever and I'd rather not be subjected to following one of you around for the rest of my life."

"Hmm," Corliss murmurs, tapping his fingernails on his glass of dark beer.  He looks up at Ardiss.  "You know, now that our base's location has changed, you're not quite as much of a threat.  In fact, I rather think you're more of an annoyance than anything else.  Regardless, two facts are inherently clear: We have your ship, and you presently can't avoid being followed round by one of us.  You're in a friend of his, aren't you?  Christine?"  He nods over at Temrash, then continues addressing Ardiss. "I'm sure you realize your ship is under rebel control.  If you want it back, you'll have to act nicely.  But in the end, the decision hand it back to you may not be mine to make."

"Subjected to following us?" Temrash said. "I was under the impression that the Empire was after you. You know, I've said you're like me. We both started out just doing our jobs, but it's not satisfying. So eventually we break away. But there's one big difference. I'm very dangerous, and have a lot of connections."

"I'll tell you a secret. You, Mar, Corliss, and anyone else. I'm not just any high ranking Visser. I'm the former Visser 6. The one who ran through the Great Kelran Blockade that was said to be impenetrable. I am the Butcher of Talloraan, one of the bloodiest massacres known in the war. I am the one who killed Captain Crussl, an Andalite whose reputation was exceeded only by Beast Elfangor. That's why I'm still alive right now. Now if you think you can match that, then I won't bother you any more. If not, then I'd think it's in your best interest to keep me around. Try to think of me less like a ball and chain, and more like a bodyguard."

************************

"Only allowed to talk to people?" Danika asked. "That seems rather vague. I don't blame you for being confused. Maybe you should ask your friends to be more specific."

Mar twitches. The name "Elfangor" bothers him, despite the fact that he's only ever heard it in passing. Mar glances at the bartender and states, "Common grape juice, please. If I drink any more alcohol I'd probably pass out."

Mar rubs his temples and waits as the bartender prepares his drink. He then glances at Temrash wryly. "Visser Six? I'm impressed. One of me seems to have heard of you somewhere before. But really, what's the difference? Other than the hostility Ardiss has demonstrated, you have a fairly similar position in the rebel world. I suppose your connections certainly provide a great deal of help to Myitt's cause, but you shouldn't be acting as if you still have the position you're running from. It's annoying."

Mar then glances at Ardiss and states, "You require a ship? Hmm...does that mean you want simply transportation out of here or a physical object of the sort? I could possibly provide the former sometime in the future. But...you have likely experienced similar and worse paranoia among your own kind, you know."

“District 9, eh? Never heard of it.” Hunter said to Cale with a slight shake of his head. He had actually heard of it, but from what he had heard, it seemed like a really ****ty place to come from.

Seeing him take a sip of the drink and grimace, Hunter said with a chuckle “Not your favourite drink?”

Cale takes back the can, antennae twitching in amusement, o course a child wouldn’t like Cat Food.

:…To you it is foul, to my species it is a great delicacy…:

He turned his attention back to the tins arrayed in front of him, touching them almost reverently before placing them to the side, and looked up as Hunter spoke.

:…No…:

It most definitely was not is favorite drink, his favorite drink was…well he didn’t have a favorite usually anything that provided moisture was useful to his body and his most favored food, besides Cat Food, was tire rubber, and the best way to get tire rubber was to steal tires off MNU vehicles.

Although he was partial to any type of meat, specifically human, which hard to get and trying to get it would usually get you shot. So he stuck with beef or other meat.

:…It is a Bad Place…:

The Prawn looked hunter in the eyes, mandibles scraping together.

:…You are from where?...:

"Me? I'm from Pern. It's near the center of Alpha Centauri. It's a nice planet, but too..." Struggling for a better word, Hunter went with the first thing that came to mind "lazy."

Taking a stab at friendship, he asked Cale "You wanna see my ship?"

Ossanlin raises an eyebrow in response to Parker's query and thinks for a moment.  <Well, this place seems to be rather a temporal vortex or some sort of anomaly that allows multiple realities to intersect.  So far each of us has returned to his or her own reality except when in the company of others.  I think that perhaps it depends upon your want or need.  If you're just flying out I believe you will go to your own reality, but if you will yourself to follow another into his or her own reality, you can accompany them.  It's a strange sort of place with strange rules.  I believe that if you have a functioning ship and the will to return to your own reality, it should easily be possible.>

Ossanlin trots down the ramp and pats Parker on the armored shoulder.  <I don't think you need to worry about it too much.>  He smiles with his eyes and sends a quick thought-speech to Asmodee.  <<I am returning to the bar bounty-hunter, feel free to join me when you're up to it, I'll buy you a round.>>

He also sends a thought-speech to Alic.  <<I'm going inside, ren.  I'll appreciate your company when you join me.>>

He trots back to the bar and through the swinging doors and immediately notices Corliss and Temrash sit at a table with the newly-returned Ardiss/Christine, catching a portion of their conversation.  <Prince Crussl...>  Ossanlin's eye-smile was not kind.  <An overblown, pompous figurehead.  I'm surprised he managed to live as long as he did.  You did our race a favor by removing him from the mortal coil.>  Ossanlin's chuckle was not humorous.  <I do not doubt your capabilities Temrash but I must let you know that most of Crussl's reputation came from propaganda.  Our Electorate set him up as a heroic poster-boy and gave him credit for much more than he ever did.  It is believed that more than half of his so-called achievements against the Yeerks were actually accomplished by his sister-ship's commander, Prince Taishe, though the true number is a guarded secret of the Electorate.>

Ossanlin trots up to the bar not far from Ardiss' table and turns a quick eye-smile on Ardiss.  <So glad you could join us again, Imperial.  Have a round on me.>  Ossanlin has the BT mix up some redin and place it in the middle of the table in front of Ardiss.  Ossanlin's expression was decidedly unreadable, even neutral.

<The fact is, Crussl was a hero for the people who didn't deserve his fame.  The ruse worked too, the Empire was so dead-set on killing Crussl that the real threat, Taishe, went almost unnoticed.  And thus the pivotal battle at Riche Minor was won.  Ah but that's ancient history.  To his credit, Crussl was a skilled tail-fighter and martial artist, one of the few things he actually deserves credit for...I'm sure you had great sport with him before the final blow was dealt.>  Ossanlin ordered fermented red-grass and waited at the bar for his drink.

Keirdan shakes his head at Danika. "I'm not confused. The people change, that's all. I can't 'member which ones are people." He glances at Cale, then turns back to Danika, "Is he a people" The child looks genuinely perplexed.
