"So how do we get Ossanlin to put on an Imperial uniform?" Temrash asked Corliss.

"Why would he do that?" Christine asked.

"Alinciana wants him to morph Human and have a few drinks, and the only think Corliss has is uniforms. And Humans tend to be embarrassed if they don't have their clothing on."

Christine's cheeks flushed a little at the visual of a naked man drinking alchohol. "Well, I have a T-shirt and some jeans. If he can fit into them. There's a suitcase by the wall that my escorts brought in."

Keirdan kicks away from Shalner, and growls at her. He crosses his arms, and stomps away. He crawls under a table, and begins playing with a pile of dirt under there.

Shal stares at Keirdan for a moment, before moving to sit near Corliss. She looks at him in silence, a look of concern on her face.

"who's the kid?" Christine asked.

"Captain Hardbones."

"Seriously?"

"Sure. Captain Keirdan Hardbones."

Christine chuckled. She went over too him. "Hey little guy. I'm Christine. are you upset? You want some icecream? There's still some left. Master Temrash seems to be paying for whatever I want around here, so I can get us some more."

"Keirdan, there are about a million nicer ways to treat your big sister," Breekan sighs. He leans against the bar and rubs his face. He discretely motions to the bartender for another gutwhiskey. He looks to Shal. "You want anything? Food? Booze?"

Shal shakes her head, and remains near Corliss, waiting from any news from Myitt.

Keirdan looks up at Christine. "I'm not little. I'm big. And the bartender won't give me food. I threw grapes at him." He begins to pick through the dirt, making a small pile of shards of glass.

"Threw grapes, huh? You must be pretty tough to be teasing someone as intimidating as that. Hmm. This floor isn't all that clean. Back on Earth the floors were kind of dirty in the pool. Of course, it was just dirt and rocks outside the buildings. So what brings you and your friends here, Captain?"

((Yeah I ran away for a little bit...I watched Chocolat last night, it was fun :P  I'm going to guess that Jessi is busy because she's totally getting married in a few days, so we'll push on a bit.  I totally wish we could all crash her wedding...in, you know, the non-obnoxious-we-brought-cash-gifts-and-don't-need-table-settings kind of way x3))

Myitt helps Mar and her other companions on board Ardiss' ship, warming up the engines.  The ship lifts off the ground and cruises through the atmosphere, flames flickering around the shielding as it ascends through the atmosphere into space.

"Yup," Myitt sighs contentedly, sitting at the main controls and setting the nav computer coodinates toward Nerkin.  "I like this ship.  Kara, you can take the Taxxon spot.  There's no chair, I guess you're used to that.  Someone who isn't trigger happy can take weapons.  Just don't touch them for god's sake.  Hold on to something."

The ship jolts nauseatingly as it blinks into z-space, inertial dampeners kicking in a few nanoseconds late.  The world's worst turbulence.

---

"Simple, we get the uniform from my ship and we ask him to try it on," says Corliss, looking at Ossanlin.  "Sound like a plan, mate?"

He stares back at Shal, still holding the link, spinning it idly in between his hands.  "She's barely left, Shal," he says quietly, guessing what she's looking for.  "We've had this happen before.  Once.  Wasn't pretty, but 'ey, we're still alive, yeah?  We'll be alright."  He glances down at the bar, at the link in his hands, gently flicking it like a paper football.  It moves a few centimeters.  "We've gotta be alright.  We're too pretty to die."  He grins a bit.

Zoshonel was sitting in the corner with his wings folded tightly, then got jolted along with everything else. "Yeah, this is going to be a fun ride. I feel so emotionally close to you guys." He said as he climbed out of the pile of people.

((Yeah, sorry guys....feel free to Yeerk my characters for the next week or so. I am going to be AWOL except the random post here or there, like now))

Kara nods, taking the Taxxons usual spot at the bridge. It's a bit odd for her, being in the Ardiss' ship and not being in the commanding position, but she relishes Myitt's leadership role and backs down willingly.

"Just let me know if there's anything you need, Myitt," Kara says softly with a reluctant smile at the Yeerk. It is the first time that she has called anyone but Mar by name.

"Holy smokes, Keirdan!" Breekan exclaims, hearing the tinkling of shards. He makes his way towards the boy. "You are going to be so incredibly miserable if you don't put those down very, very carefully."

Keirdan glares up at Breekan, then looks at Christine. "I dunno. He's my brother. He takes care of me. Ask him." He gestures at Breekan, and quickly pockets the glass shards. He crawls out from under the table, and walks quickly toward the BT.

Shal grins at Corliss, and pats him on the cheek, before settling back, and staring at the link.

"Kids these days. They just won't listen." Christine said to Breekan."You want me to hold him while you grab the glass, or do you want to take a gentler approach?"

Keirdan turns and looks at Christine. He bursts into tears immediately, and wails "I thought you were my friend!" He stares up at her, a pitiful look on his face.

"Don't cry! Don't cry! I just don't want you to get infected from being cut by dirty glass. If you want something to play with, I have marbles." She said, and went to her bag. She brought out some marbles and made a place for them on the floor. "I also have some jacks. Much better than dirt and glass."

"Let's see if he takes a trade before we give him the marbles," Breekan suggests. "It's never too early to teach him about the value of the free market."
