"Whoa whoa whoaaaaa!" Breekan shrieks. He pushes his arms between Shalner and Christine, trying to build a barrier between them. "Rational adults! Rational adults! Child watching! Bad habits! Impressionable!"

"Ok. Apparently I did." she said. She decided to just take her marbles and go back outside.

Meanwhile the barkeep glared at Keirdan while continuing to clean up.

"Hey Corliss." Temrash said. "Who do you think would win at a silent staring contest? Shal, or Barkeep?"

Shal stands silently, breathing heavily. She closes her eyes, before turning around, and taking Keirdan from Corliss. She glares at him.

Keirdan squaks at Shal, "You are SUCH a mean mean bully sister."

Shal plunks him down in a chair, and pushes it in. She turns back to the bar, and sits in her earlier seat.

Keirdan turns around, and scowls at her back.

Breekan looks at Christine leaving and sighs. He thinks about offering an apology, but he notes that there remains significant business with both of his siblings. He glares at Keirdan. "The marble lady is right, you know!" he chides. "Broken glass is not a toy. You could, erm, poke an eye out, young man!" He pauses. Something terrible occurs to him. "And you know, The Big Guy does just awful things to naughty children."

Keirdan stiffens. His head immediately whips towards Breekan's voice at the mention of the Big Guy. His lip trembles, and he chirps, "He does?"

Shal puts her head in her arms, and snickers in silence, hoping that Keirdan does not notice.

Christine found a spot that would be good for playing marbles, and practiced. Not for the first time, she wondered why she had marbles. It was the first kind of toy/activity she had ever been given after joining the sharing. Playing marbles with some children had been the first time she had ever had fun. That was over a decade ago, and she had never stopped playing.

"He does," Breekan says darkly. "Double awful if they're naughty pirate children who throw things." He nods sagely. "Oh yes, he has a most terrrrrrrible opinion of naughty pirates." He bites his finger, wrinkling his eyebrow with worry. His eyes light up. "But! There is hope! If you apologize for your naughtiness, and tell the Bartender and your big sister and Ms. Christine that you are very sorry, and then-" he leans in close "-here is the double, triple, most important thing: if you never, ever, ever do it again, then the Big Guy will have no use for you and will not bother you one bit... Unless you're naughty again." He stands up straight, and crosses his arms.

"Now, Cap'n Hardbones. What do you make of all that?"

Keirdan look at Breekan for a moment, and contemplates his options. "I think you're a liar," Keirdan Bluffs.

"Oh yeah?" Breekan asks, grinning. "That's what our last little brother thought." He looks suddenly crestfallen and glances wistfully at Shal. "You know, sometimes I still miss Rutebegah."

Shal looks up at Breekan, a half amused expression on her face. She attempts to nod in agreement.

Keirdan sighs, then stands up. He stomps to Shalner, and says through clenched teeth. "I'm sorry." He turns to the BT and glowers at him. "I'm sorry." under his breath he adds, "that you're so dumb."

He turns and looks at Breekan. "I'm not saying sorry to that mean lady until she gives me back my glass." He crosses his arms, and stares at his older brother.

"Big Guy's not a fan of pirates that play with glass, either- remember what I said about poking an eye out?" Breekan sticks out his tongue.

Alic stiffened. She was afraid Keirdan could explode at any minute and really did not want to be anywhere near him if he did. As much as the child annoyed her at times, he was not one to push to his limits. She stepped out, following Christine.

<What is this game?> Alic was inquiring about the marbles. She was more curious in what this human experienced but thought it may not be a subject to touch yet. Christine might be willing but Alic wasn't very confident that the yeerk she was waiting for would be anything like her friends inside.

"You take the large marble, and try to hit as many small marbles outside the circle as possible. It's a simple kids game that I probably should have grown out of by now." she said, as she sat up to look at Alic. "Though really, there don't seem to be a lot of adult things to do here besides drink alchohol. Adults go to party clubs, and play sports, and drive around in flashy cars."

Keirdan eyeballs Breekan for a moment, then crawls back under a table. He resumes his pervious play with the dirt and broken glass.

Shal rolls her eyes, and returns to staring at the comm link in silence.

Breekan sighs and slumps at the bar counter. He gives the BT a stern look. "Why don't you ever ****ing sweep?"
