~Silver~
She nodded, knowing what he meant. "That is because my father has been changed. He didn't always look like that. I was somewhat changed as well, but mine is less noticeable. When I was younger, my parents and I were taken by the CG. Father thought he had lost us forever, and I grew up without either of my parents. I got stuck here by mistake as many do, and I seen a picture of my mother that morgan had and I said she looked familiar. After a little shock we realized he was my father." she said. "The surprise was that when I first got here, I looked like this...." she shifted into the first form she had been in with her pale white alabaster skin and the long blue hair that was braided into one plait. She left it there long enough for him to see and then she changed back. "I hadn't realized that I had a normal form, until I let go of my control and I changed. I can throw illusions." she said with a small smile.

((Hunter, my characters did introduce themselves to John, and Salem apologized for not knowing his name, and Andromeda, at the very least, took notice of Paul, and is standing next to him at the bar))

Al nodded at Keshin's comment about being from a repressive society. He chuckled, " 'Idiots' might be a bit harsh, but I've been called worse. Relax, have a drink on him," he said with a smirk, nodding towards Salem. "No worries about that empire tonight," he said with a smile

"We're originally from... well, where you're from. Your galaxy, anyway. Sorta. The insignificant planet the humans come from, Earth, exists, and the stars are the same, but almost everything else is different that I can tell. There're no Yeerks or Andalites, and a number of other superpowers run sections of the galaxy. We call it Atazin. He was born on Earth, I think, but his family left when he was young and he never went back" he said, nodding at Salem. "My original body was actually built on a planet not far from where the Yeerk homeworld is in your universe."

He rolled his eyes. "We weren't even on the run when we left. He was giving me a ride, and the ridiculous Hope Drive he was trying to use sent us to an alternate universe. Man, that was..." he paused, "forever ago now. We've seen so many universes and so many worlds since then. He really wants to find a way home, I think."

He smirked at Keshin. "So what's your story? Why aren't you still a part of that empire?"

***

Salem kept watch on Keshin and Al out of the corner of his eye, hoping Al wasn't going to give up too much information.
He listened to Silver with growing interest. He raised an eyebrow when she changed, and smiled as she changed back. He let out a low whistle. "That's quite a talent. Looks like this CG did a number on you guys. You know, the odds against finding your family again like that have gotta be... huge. You're very lucky, Silver."

Corliss sits down at the bar counter, not far from Elayne and Mar.  He rubs his eyes and exhales, running his hands through his messy black hair.

"Barkeep, a pint of Bass, please."  He thoughtfully scratches at the stubble on his chin while the bartender cracks open the beer.

"Thanks, mate," Corliss sighs, handing the thing a few U.S. dollars and drinking a good third of the bottle in one go.

"Get me something too. Also let me clear my tab." Temrash said as he sat next to Corliss. He paid what he owed, and drank a bit from his drink when it came. Corliss seemed to want to keep his mouth shut, but Temrash figured he might be more willing to talk about what was bothering him after a few drinks.

"At first?!" Gaz fumed. "What exactly does that mean?"

Fletcher was quiet for a moment.

"My mission at the start," Fletcher explained, "was to find a way to become a member of Morgan's crew. Get myself to a point where I was trusted. But when I got there....after a few weeks when I learned more. Things changed, I found things out about the CG that I hadn't known before."

"You mean you didn't know about the experimentation?" Gaz asked. "What they did to Morgan?"

Fletcher shook his head. "Wasn't my department. After I learned more...I couldn't go through with it. When it came time to make my first report, I chose to miss it. That's when I was deemed a renegade. I've been a true member of Morgan's crew ever since."

"I still don't understand why you felt you had to keep this secret for so long," Gaz said. "You know it's going to be a while before either myself or Morgan really trusts you again. Morgan especially."

Elayne was so shocked by Trey's statement, she barely registered what Mar was saying. "Are you... sure?" she asked Trey.

Then she cleared her throat and swiveled in her chair to face him more directly, resting her crossed arms on the table's worn surface, businesslike. "What is your plan of action?" she said in a tone as quiet as his own. "You can't go into this as haphazardly as I did, especially considering you are already in greater danger than I was at the beginning. What do you expect to --" she stopped herself, then amended, "What will you accomplish?"

When Corliss and Temrash approached and sat down nearby, her concentration was broken. She looked at Mar, her brain finally catching up with what he had said. "Thanks," she murmured to him before turning back to Trey.

~Keiko~
She wandered through the trees and brush that surrounded the bar. she didn't plan on going far, she just wanted to look around. It was good not to see metal walls and bars and cages anymore. there were many colors and wide open spaces.

~Silver~
She nodded. "Sometimes I think I crashed here so our family could be given a second chance." she said with a smile. "It was also here that I met Parker. If I'm not mistaken, I think I met Parker first." she said with a little laugh.

Parker gave Silver's hand the slightest of squeezes, "Yeah, I was entranced by her the moment she entered the bar. She's only impressed me further the more I get to know her."

The Director sidled up to Corliss and asked, "So, how's the missus?"

((I shall bring up Corliss in the next post round. :3 ))

Keshin listens to Al's description of where Salem and himself are from and nods quietly. As far as he can tell, there's nothing bizarre about the universe the two of them fell out of. It's just another strange timeline intersecting with the Space Bar. <So that really begs a question: why are those two wanted in a universe that has Yeerks in it? They just said nothing of the sort existed.>

<Good question, Kess. Either way we gotta answer theirs first.>

<.......do we have to?>

<Hey, we don' have ta say it all.>

"Let it suffice to say that we value our freedom," states Keshin calmly. "I am not part of the Empire because it did not suit our needs. Now that we are outside of it, we can take clients and get what we need to survive."

Mar raises an eyebrow at Trey's claims. "Really, boy? You're going to start a rebellion? You, the silly little fool who spends most of his time cowering, wondering what other people are going to think of him?"

Mar laughs out loud rather nastily. It's not a pretty sound, and feels cold in comparison to the sweet words Mar speaks to Elayne. "All the rebellion leaders I have known have at the very least been charismatic. I have seen people with as few resources as you have now raise an army. But I expect nothing out of someone who can't even look me in the eye."

Silver smiled at Parker when he gave her hand a sqqueeze and a small blush covered her face at his compliment. She entwined her fingers with his, and held his hand.

Temrash wasn't sure he recognized this guy that came up to talk to Corliss. By Missus he must mean Myitt.

"Corliss is sulky right now, and decided to clam up. I'm hoping a beer or two will loosen his lips. I'm not sure about Myitt. That's who you mean, right? She's off doing something, and I guess will be back soon enough."

Trey's brows furrow in anger at Mar's comments, but true to his own timidness he does not raise his gaze from the table.

"I don't think..." he hesitates and starts again, "Yeah, you're right. A rebellion needs a charismatic leader. Someone who can make people happy, or at least think they're happy. But I've got what I've got. I'll make do."

To Elayne he responds, "I don't know exactly what I want to accomplish. Some amount of freedom for the nothlits, the grubs and the Yeerks trapped on the homeworld. But...I guess I need to find out what my dad had planned first, see if I can build off of that at all. Maybe in his ship...?"

----

Terenia continues to pace the minimal length of her Bug until the anger she feels begins to wear thin. In it's place is a pit of emptiness that aches every time she thinks about what has just taken place.

"Now what?" She murmurs, more to herself than Efaen.

<We follow the prescribed plan,> Efaen responds anyways, <If Ossanlin and his crew do not return then we only need to secure information of their murder, a murder you have surely caused. Then we can return to the Blade Ship and work to sabatoge operations on our own. If the crew of The Mirage does return then we will express our wishes to remain together in the name of effectively undermining the Yeerk Empire.>

"What if they have her, though?" Terenia has not yet contemplated this possibility. If they succeeded, somehow, in freeing Tamora then her only viable defense has been destroyed.

<Then you have achieved your goal of freeing her. And owe me your allegiance in turn.>

"No." Terenia balls her hands into fists, "I have achieved nothing. They did this, and they did it against my will. It is not the same."

<The end result is the same.>

"It is different," Terenia insists, although she is not quite sure why. She remembers an earlier conversation with Keshin, explaining that it was not just Tamora's freedom, but her desire to be free that was important.

<You need to listen to me, Terenia,> Efaen says, <I will give you the words to say. I will help you.>

"You have never helped me," Terenia spits, her anger flaring once more, "You call what you just did helping me?"

<Yes. Have you not yet realized that you can trust no one? Any emotional attachment is folly. You have me. I am the only person that you can depend on, and I am the only person you need to listen to. Anyone else will turn on you the second the opportunity arises. I do not have that option.>

"You are one twisted Andalite, Efaen." Terenia comments dully. Efaen does not respond, but her Terenia can feel her confidence that she has won this debate.

While Gaz was questioning Fletcher, Andromeda was talking with Morgan.

"Tell me," Andromeda said, "what does this new life of yours entail?"

"Smuggling," Morgan admitted after a moment. "Sometimes piracy."

"I see," Andromeda replied. "You seem to have found a good crew. But I wonder, what will you do about Fletcher?"

Morgan sighed and shook his head. "I don't know yet. He's always been a valued member of the crew, but the fact that he kept this for so long..."

That was when Fletcher answered Gaz's question and admitted that he had still bee a CG operative when he had initially joined Morgan's crew. Almost immediately, Morgan's eyes narrowed and his fists clenched.

Andromeda noticed Morgan's temper rising. She placed one hand on a fist and one one his arm.

"Odysseus," she said quietly, "it's ok. Don't be too upset, you heard what he said."

"He lied to me," Morgan growled, "not only did he choose to keep such a thing secret, he lied to me about his initial purpose on his ship. He had assured me that he was not still working for the CG when he joined my crew!"

Corliss glances at The Director.  "Missus?  I'm not married, mate," he says with a bit of a laugh.  Scoffing at Temrash, he adds, "I haven't 'eard from my sibling, either, and I'm really not in the mood to discuss it, thanks."  He drinks a bit more of the beer, but puts it down, deciding that it's only going to make his headache worse.  He shuts his eyes tightly and rubs at an eyebrow.

<I don't know why that idiot brother of mine even comes here,> he scowls. <Gallivanting off like some vigilante, after a few drinks he reckons he can save the universe.>

<She's all right, mate,> Mike says encouragingly.  <They can take care of themselves.>

<Not if that ship's blown to hell, and not if they're captured.>

<There ya go again, always the optimist,> Mike retorts.  <That Andalite bloke, Ossanlin, he's a damn good pilot, and he's got all that silver magic ****e to boot.  She's just engaged, Corliss, or turned the damned thing off.>

"That's not good. They should know to report in when off on a dangerous mission. I don't know how to contact them, though. Myitt or Ossanlin. If you think something bad has happened, I can check on my allies on Earth. Ask them if Visser Three's troops have captured anyone. Clamming up and hoping for the best is not smart."
