((Hehe...we've been a little post-crazy lately :P))

Myitt watches Mar and Ossanlin curiously, both of them appear to be sort of...frozen.  But she knows there's more to it than that...much more was going on on a mental level.  She could only hope it was working.

"Right, you ready?" Corliss holds up the wires to Temrash's host's ears, and they do the rest of the work, latching onto the reptilian skin and snaking very thin protrusions into the Hork-Bajir's ear canals.  On either side they slither in and very lightly touch Temrash's Yeerk flesh.

The result would be something like sleeping while you're awake, eyes open and blinking but looking at something completely different.  Temrash's life flows across his awareness, downloading his neural energy, transmitted from stored ions, into the black box.  A holoscreen pops up, showing the viewer what Temrash sees.  Corliss, not being much of a fan of personally stepping into Temrash's mind with probes of his own, watches the images flicker rapid-fire instead.

Temrash's life flashed before his eyes. He grew up in a small pool inside a ship. He was issued a young Hork-Bajir host. At first he didn't care for Jagill, and Jagill had been forcibly taught to never speak or resist. Temrash had victories, and made friends. He fell in love once. as he grew in rank, he was given charge of more and more soldiers. The missions became bigger, more crucial, and more elaborate. People died. Andalites fought and lost.

There were times when he negotiated with Andalites to help achieve his goal, and spared those who ran away or begged. He was punished and ridiculed for it. There were Yeerk commanders who wanted him to use his troops in disrespectful ways, and was punished for protecting them. He saw people become jealous of him, and betray him. It all built up more and more. Until the day he snapped, and killed someone that no loyal Yeerk could forgive him for. They called him a sympathizer and a traitor. They said he was too dangerous, and couldn't be controlled. More and more Yeerks tried to kill him, though he didn't know who sent them. One day he found out it was a member of the Council. He did what was thought to be unthinkable, and killed the Council member. Then he did the impossible, and made it out with his life.

He roamed from planet to planet, taking jobs where he could to pay for expenses. More and more hunters came, and they got better and better. He grew more and more tired with the passing months. Then, at the edge of the galaxy, he landed at a place to find an old bar.

Shal lifts up her hand, her pale-red eyes staring at the spot from which the skin was taken. The skin is obviously gone, but her finger is not bleeding. She stands up, and follows Breekan1, holding her hand in front of her face.

Breekan keeps his eyes trained on Shal, breathing heavily. He holds the knife with the slip of skin on it out to Corliss. "Pal? Think you could scan this? I'll buy you a drink sometime if you do. Honest." Sweat gathers above his eyes. "Don't worry, sis. We're just trying to figure out what's wrong with you, okay?"

Through the door stepped a ten foot tall alien with black, rough skin, and sharp claws. He glanced around the room, and made his way to Temrash. Noticing how he was hooked up to the machine, he grinned menacingly. He then glanced over to Myitt.

"You might want to step back. Otherwise you'll get blood all over yourself."

"Mmh, hang on, kind of busy mate," says Corliss, eyes trained on the holoscreen, watching Temrash's memories.  He fishes in his uniform pockets for the tiny blackish green cube that serves as a Yeerkish computer.  "Here," he says distractedly, handing the little device to Breekan.  The cube has markings on only one side, along the perimeter of the square, and all in Yeerkish.  "Bioscan's an icon as you open up the holoscreen.  Press two sides of the cube.  Slide the icon left and downward."

Which is precisely when the nasty creature who fits the description of Temrash's nemesis steps into the bar.  Myitt blinks at him as the creature saunters over to her.  "Excuse me?" she says skeptically, and both Corliss' shooting hand and her own cumbersome left hand are on the handles of their respective weapons.  "I don't think so.  We're interrogating this creature, we found him first."

"I see." The creature said. He took notice of Myitt's wounds, and the person lying on the floor. "He must have given you a hard time."

He went to the far corner of the bar, and pulled out a weapon. He sat there staring at Temrash, while holding a rifle type gun in his hands. There was an explosion outside, as Temrash's bugfighter disentegrated from a timed explosive.

Alic jumped to get whatever space was between this new alien and Ossanlin. She had no weapons on her, it was something she promised never to do. Her only weapon was her tail. The feminine, slim body stood on gaurd, tail arched high. She was ready to strike if need be and her tailblade twitched nervously.

<Look. Thing.> Alic shook her head in annoyance. From playing human for so long, she had her fists ready, even though they were useless it had become a natural instinct.
<As you were told, we had him first.> For some reason, Alic felt she had to protect Temrash, but she shook it off because Ossanlin was her first priority. The weapon made her nervous, which she tried not to show. He was too far for her tailblade to reach, which put her at a disadvantage.

B1 looks stunned at the bounty hunter, but decides to let the matter wait unless things get worse. He runs the bio-scan on the excised piece of tissue, to see whether or not it reacts negatively.

Mike felt a distance grow between him and everyone else as Corliss walked away from him. Even after learning that Myitt was his brother, he hadn't felt apart from the whole universe until there had been actual physical separation from people. The youth was still dressed in ragged and holy clothing. The skintight bike suit covering up what it needed to, but his feet were bare and so were a few spots on his chest where it looked like he had been shot.

The boy stood now at his table, looking towards where there was supposedly a hork-bajir, but he couldn't be sure as his blind eyes gazed over the crowd. He made his way back towards the bar, stumbling along the way but doing a lot better than before. He tapped lightly on the counter and spoke softly, "A water please?"

The bartender eyed mike from afar, cleaning some random glass before walking over towards him and standing before the small human. He took a dirty glass from the counter behind him and filled it with water from a rusty spout before placing it down in front of Mike. Surprised, he almost jumped away from the cup before grasping it between his hands and downing half of it in one gulp. Unfortunately some of it dripped onto the bar top and the BT didn't look too happy.

((Looks like it's going to get rough in here. Again. XD This place breaks into a bar fight every five minutes. Meanwhile two different delicate procedures are going on at the same time. Should be fun. :P ))

((Post-happy indeed. O_O))

*Ossanlin saw the strange creature, heard the words, or the thoughts as they were.  He continued to push back his memories, and walked...more like floated toward the being.*  <You...You are Mar.  Yes...I don't know what went wrong...it's strange, almost like my mind is rejecting reality.  If you can guide me...I wouldn't want to set out on my own.  To reject the timestream...>  *Ossanlin closes his eyes in his mind and reality seems to twist around him.  He forces himself away, divorcing himself from the timestream.  It almost seemed like he was cutting a connection, perhaps something that would be very difficult to repair.  But this might be the only way...*

*Ossanlin reaches out and grasps Mar's oddly-clawed hand, his eyes opening again to a plain white space, no memories, nothing clouding the way.  He can see a light, perhaps the exit, perhaps his own mind, he didn't know, but he walked with Mar trusting the being to go the right way.*
<This is all very odd, divorcing myself from the timestream...I may not be able to go there again.  Are you leading me back now?>

*Back in the bar, Ossanlin's body seems to solidify and his fur flushes out from the pale blue to its rich original hue.  His spasms decrease, and then he seems simply to be asleep, his eyes no longer quivering under their lids.  He is still not conscious, but it's obvious that he has stabilized considerably.*

((Ahh bio time.  Chad, for your benefit, Ossanlin is a non-infested Andalite.  His full name is Ossanlin-Rethin-Sephirel, and he is Captain of the Dome Ship Tyrennian which is nebulously hovering in orbit somewhere.  He is loyal and still takes orders from the Electorate, fighting the Empire.  But he does have his own way about him and he is very open.  Myitt is one of his best friends in the galaxy, and Corliss is his friend by extension.  Shal and Breek are also good friends from way back as are Applix and Alic.  Ossanlin has actually used his power in the military structure to organize raids in tandem with the Yeerk rebels, albeit with very limited forces and only sporadically.  He carries two shredders and two particle-sharpened katana which he has developed his upper-body considerably more than most Andalites to use effectively, and he's a skilled tail-fighter.  Due to a partial Silver Escafil transmutation, he has some Silver-blade genes that surface in times of great need giving him extra-sensory perception and some telekinesis.  His recent experience in the timestream has left him weak and in dire straits, and as yet unconscious, so it's likely his silver-blade power will be out of comission for a great deal of time.  I suppose that's most of the important stuff.))

((Oh, and I have another char. hiding in the back of the bar recovering from grievous wounds.  He's also a hork-bajir controller, the rest I'll let you find out when he pops back in, which could be anytime.  Glad to have you with us!))

((Heheh, welcome back Ozzy, four pages later...xP))

Myitt and Corliss exchange a very brief glance, and Corliss goes back to analyzing Temrash's history.  When it finally ends he taps the black box, leaning toward Myitt.  "As soon as we're done 'interrogating'," he whispers, "that bugger's going to shoot his bloody head off."

Myitt nods a little, then happens to notice Ossanlin.  He's no longer shaking and seems to have calmed a great deal, and that makes her glad, but too many variables...a bounty hunter in here meant none of them were safe.  But that was the very nature of this place.

Corliss notices Mike stagger to the bar nearby and feels a pang of sympathy for him, after all that's happened...but his attention is focused on whether or not to remove the probes from Temrash's mind.  He glances at the bounty hunter in the corner, smiles faux politely, and goes back to analyzing the readouts.

(I'm a little confused over some of the characters, but hopefully I'll get used to it.)

The bounty hunter had respect for Temrash. The worm had lasted much longer than most of his prey. There was something odd about him, that the hunter couldn't pin down. How could a normal Hork-Bajir controller be that good. His reflexes and ability to withstand pain were far higher than they should be. He held his gun ready. He preffered not to get other people involved in his fights, but he was not letting his prey get off the planet alive.

Back in Temrash's mind, he remembered a tactic that had given him his notorious reputation, but had never revealed to anyone. Due to Yeerk policies, such a tactic was simply out of the question for the vast majority of controllers. It required sacrifice for the Yeerk, for the sake of the host. By relinquishing control of motor function and eyesight to a host, the host would be able to fight while the Yeerk focused on the senses of hearing and smell. Working in tandem greatly incresed his reflex time. Secondly, Temrash clenched hard on the receptors that judged pain after releasing motor function control. This meant that Jagill felt no pain from wounds. Blows that would stun him didn't even faze him. Of course, Jagill knew when he was hit, due to Temrash's thoughts, but it wouldn't slow him down unless it was a grevious attack.

Andalites called him a demon. Entire battallions fell before him. Brave Andalites faltered at the mere sight of him. Those Yeerks who weren't friends with him feared him. They all wanted to know how, but he never told.

"There's enough here to make me trust him, for now," Corliss hisses at Myitt, still tapping at the holoscreen.  "No signs of neural tampering.  Sounds kind of like you, actually."  He grins at her.

"Right, just keep stalling, that jerk in the corner will be liable to blow all of our heads off," says Myitt.  "But he needs to know what's happening."

Corliss sighs.  "Alright, alright, hang on a second, will you?  Just...keep your hand on that Dracon.  When I'm ready to leave, the box will flash red."  He sits down next to Temrash and cleans two extra probes, sticking one into each ear.  The thin wires seem to know what to do, snaking their way into Michael's head and making contact with Corliss.  He stares, blinking, at nothing...

...and steps onto the bridge of a Blade Ship.  "Excuse me, Temrash?" says Corliss, wearing an Imperial uniform, interrupting some distant memory.  "But there's a bounty hunter here to kill you.  I need to take the probes out and I need you to remain calm.  We need to stall him, he thinks we're interrogating you as our prisoner.  That's a laugh."  He smiles.  "Are you ready?"

Myitt watches, frowning.  "Remind me why I think this is a nice, safe, off duty vacation spot?" she whispers.

<You tell me, genius.>
