<This could be the trap that does me in. Or this could be the light at the end of the tunnel.>

<Run and run in circles. No direction.>

<You're right, Jagill. I have no purpose or goals now. I do not live, but merely exist.>

"Ok. I'll do it. I've got nothing better to do. So while we're sitting here, what can you tell me of your friends? One of them is quite injured, and there's a person across the room watching me talk to you."

Shal remains unmoving on her stool, her hair sopping wet from the spilled Redin. She does not respond to Myitt, nor the BT who lifts up her arm to wipe the section of bar underneath it before placing the new glass of redin on the bar a few inches from her fingertips. He drops her with a thump, and skin covering her arm seems to flicker momentarily, before solidifying again.

((Everyone plays the BT here, feel free to use him however you need. He doesn't speak, and he's a nasty beast. Don't make deals with him if you value your life. And keep in mind  that if you mess with him, someone may snatch him up and play him opposite of you. :)

My character is Shalner, I've been RPing her for way too long. She was a yeerk, who was given a human host, Jess. About 8 years after being placed in Jess's body, Jess just kind of..disappeared, and now Shal is Jess. She's no longer able to leave the body, doesn't need Kandrona...and has no idea where Jess is. She stands about 5'6", medium build, dark blond hair, and used to have dark blue eyes. Other than not quite reacting as expected to many "sounds" (she can hear private thoughtspeak that isn't directed towards her, but can't use it herself; she had a brother who had a scream that knocked people unconscious, she wasn't able to hear that at all; she's not affected by howlers; etc.), she has no other useful abilities (she's an awful shot, she has some limited background knowledge due to a former host studying to be a doctor, can barely hold her own in a fist fight, lost her ship, etc, etc.)

A few weeks back, she was involved in a ship crash with Connor (aka Gumby), and lost a leg. She almost died but was revived by Breekan1, only to flicker out of existence when Myitt was removed from this timestream by the BT. Once Myitt came back, she seemed to flicker back. However, now she's not quite right. Her eyes are a weird pale-red, and she's just kind of lying on the bar unresponsive.

And, ah, I may have forgotten to mention. Breekan1 is her brother. And they're the reject-spawn of Crayak.))

((yes, welcome Chad!))

When the hork-bajir entered, Alic kept a stalk eye on him at all times. She didn't know who he was, or if he was trustworthy. And she definately wouldn't leave her friend, defenseless on the ground. Alic's tail blade twitched nervously when she realized Myitt didn't look very comfortable with him either.

When the hork-bajir introduced himself with a yeerk name, Alic's body became more tense. She knew that no normal hork-bajir would come here anyway, just hearing it out loud made it different.
What if this yeerk came looking for trouble? Alic kept her thoughts to herself and continued to watch the newcomer, listening to his and Myitt's conversation with interest.

((god you guys. Takes me forever to type on my phone and when I'm ready I refresh and there's like, 3 more replies! I really need a laptop or something. Blackberry isn't making the cut.))

"Hmm, well that's my brother, Corliss Three-Eight-Two.  Corliss," she calls.  "You're kind of staring."

"Who is 'e?" says Corliss bluntly.

"Temrash.  A friend, maybe.  We'll see."

Corliss narrows his eyes, hand still at his Dracon.  "Right, he looks like bloody Swiss cheese, you know."

Myitt doesn't answer him, glancing around at her friends.  She sucks in a deep breath, pointing at the Andalite on the floor.  "Ossanlin just tried to bring me back from the dead, so he's not feeling well.  Mar's the pan-dimensional bastard who is in possession of what appears to be my immortal soul and is currently attempting to revive Ozzy because he really, really owes him one.  Ronny and Torran are passed out drunk, Alic...watch out for her, one wrong word and she will destroy you, make no mistake.  Mike's the guy who killed me, I think, he was a mouse a minute ago.  Conner's some kind of mercenary."  She looks over at Breekan and Shal.  "Breek's the son of Satan and Shal...Shal appears to be flickering noticeably.  That's usually not good."  She sips the drink again, wondering idly just how much of that Temrash actually understood, since she'd switched back and forth between English and Galard a few times.  "I think you need another pan-galactic gargleblaster, or whatever that is."

((Get a laptop already, jerk! :P))

"Oh, you're friends with the Andalite. And here I was hoping she'd beat it. Sorry. Haven't gotten rid of the knee jerk response of seeing one. You've got some group here. I've had a lot of friends, but they all eventually died. Now I've built up an imaginary forcefield around myself, but I can't seem to go totally solitary. Not counting Jagill, who's been with me my whole life. We were shoved into the war together, so long ago. I've got my carryable weapons too, but I don't keep them out."

(P.S. Don't diss the crackberry!)

"Word to the wise, you might want to keep them handy at least, around here," says Myitt confidingly.  "And hey, watch it.  Those Andalites have saved my sorry ass more times than I can count.  And I'm a mathematician.  Otherwise no, I wouldn't typically make friends with Andalites, mostly because they don't like me very much."  She shrugs halfly.

"I'll make sure to grab some from my ship, then." Hesaid, then sighed out loud. "Sometmes I wonder if there's a planet in some other galaxy, with a Kandrona sun, where I can rest in peace. Maybe a pond surrounded by a nice big forest where Jagill would be happy. No war. No running. Just relaxing like the old days. Before the war started."

Now Alic felt she had to respond. <Knee-jerk?!> She snorted and narrowed the eye that is watching Temrash. <Andalites are easier on the eye than uh... A worm.> Quickly her expression relaxes apologetically for Myitt.
<No offense, Myitt.>

Alic then smiled. <If there were such a place, my people will find it and destroy it. You can count on that. >
Alic flinched almost every time Ossanlin's body twitched, hoping he wasn't in any pain.

Myitt glances at Ossanlin, too, biting her lip.  "Yeah, yeah, I've heard worse, Alic," she says, smiling wryly.  To Temrash she replies, "if you find a place like that, could you give me a call?  Maybe some palm trees and a margarita machine..."

Corliss steps over.  "Myitt.  You're seriously recruiting at a time like this?" he hisses.

"What do you expect?" Myitt whispers back.  "We do need people, and besides, if he isn't trustworthy we'll find out."

Corliss squints at Temrash.  "What'd you say your name was?  Temrash?  My name is Corliss Three-Eight-Two.  I guess you'll be needing a memory dump, eh?"  He brings up the bioscan and scans his host body for any irregularities, no matter how minute.  They could make detonators microscopic, these days.

<Destroy planet? Yes, they are good at that. Aren't they!?> Jagill said coldly.

<Calm down, Jagill. If this andalite really is friends with Yeerks, then she can't be all bad.

<Fight Hruthin!>

<You do realize if I get up too quickly, I may pass out? This drink is starting to hit me. Luckily I bring pills to take in case something goes wrong, but I don't want to attack Myitt's friend.>

"A memory dump might be interesting for you, Corliss. I was once a Visser in the low numbers. I had fleets and battallions once, but now I'm down to just a sorry excuse of a bugfighter."

"There have been others like you," says Corliss.  "Not many, but nonetheless.  Hmh.  The scan looks good.  That injury...it damaged one of your hearts.  We do have good medicine, not as bad as you'd expect for a band on the run from the Empire and all of its amenities.  I'll have to get the memory probes in my ship."

He turns and stalks off outside to his parked shuttle.

Myitt turns to Mar and Ossanlin again.  Progress has been slow...and she won't see one of her friends die tonight.  Too much death in one day...

Breekan eyes Shal, and returns to his med-kit for a moment. "Sorry to interrupt, but-" he reaches in very quickly and pulls out a long, thin black blade. He places a finger against the odd scalpel, and a small bit of blood trickles down. "See sis?" he says as he takes Shal's hand in his. He very carefully scrapes a skin-sample from her finger. "Can't feel a thing."

((Howdy-hey, Chad. Breekan1 is an average-sized cat-man (cut me some slack- I made him up when I was 10) with large bat wings. He has golden fur with grey streaks near his eyes. He wears a black military uniform with some insignia that's been scratched out on the chest and shoulders. It's covered with faint green lines drawing the outlines of his pockets. As Shal said, he's the child of the Crayak, and just recently got better after briefly turning into some sort of monstrosity, which happens when he gets a bit stressed. He has wormholes for pockets, and his ship was destroyed by Conner's fleet.))

"I think I'll go back to my ship and check on things." Temrash told Myitt, and he stumbled off towards his ship. He checked inventory, and strapped a couple of dracon beams to a utility belt. He took a pill that would sober him up, and went to the computer to do an area scan. He had managed to put a tracer on the ship of his most recent pursuer. If the ship was anywhere near there, his sensors would pick it up. There was a blip on the screen as the hunter moved just within range. Then the blip stopped as the ship flew out of range. "He's getting closer." The Empire had taken to hiring outlaw species to hunt Temrash, where Hork-Bajir soldiers and corrupted Andalites had failed. This one was brutal. A predator with few weaknesses to exploit, and decades of hunting experience.

"Alright," Myitt told Temrash, watching as he walked off after Corliss to go to his own ship.  She looks over at Breekan just in time to see him cut into Shal's hand.  "Whoa!  What the hell, what could be causing that, do you think?  And..." She leans over confidentially.  "...she just kind of...flickered...only people I know who flicker aren't exactly in this plane of existence.  Or they're a hologram."

After checking everything, he went back to the bar. He couldn't hide the trouble expression from his face, though he wasn't sure why he would feel the need to. He sat back down besides Myitt, and let out a frustrated sigh.

<Dapsen! I needed a good night's sleep. He's getting better at finding me.>

<No stay night now?>

<No. We have to keep moving. Crud. And tomorrow's the end of my cycle. If that accursed predator attacks when I'm out of your body, then you'll be severly hindered. Lacking my intellect as you fight, while trying to protect me.>

<I not let you die, Temrash.>

He looked at Myitt. Then he looked at her friend, on the floor.

<How do I ask her to help me, when I know she has other worries? If I left with her, he would come.

<I...I can't get attached to more people, just to watch them die in front of me. But I need help if I'm going to survive.>

<You can't leave on your own. No fuel.>

<Dapsen. This is going to be the end, isn't it?>

"I'm a dead Yeerk. Even if I manage to get rid of the pursuer, there will always be more. Myitt. If you want me, you may soon have to fight to keep me."
