Noise! Aaagh!! So much talking in his head, and all at once. In his already tense state, it was relatively easy for him to panic over the barrage of thought speak. He powered his multiple rows of needle legs in reverse, and broke through the door. Forget fumbling with the knob this time. He ran straight for the ship graveyard, figuring he'd be safe there, at least for a bit.

"Y..You talk." Saphire blinked and stared at the girl beside her, actually surprised. "I mean.. No offense- I didn't expect anyone to actually use English here."
There was a sudden, small commotion as the giant worm-like thing sped through the pub, running backwards it seemed, and smashed through the door; A few pieces that held the handle and lock in place splintered badly, and the knob actually rolled across the floor, coming to rest under a table.

<................... ..........Eh.>
"Anyway.." She turned back around to the human, still waiting on the bartender. "Do you hear them too? The ones that.. Speak in your head?"

"Thanks..." Trey says softly. His hand moves to his breast pocket, where the computer chip had been stored. His train of thought is interrupted, though, by the entrance of not one, but three new tenants. The first makes Trey's eyes widen in surprise and his skin grow a shade or two paler.

"Is that...a Taxxon?" he asks. "A real Taxxon?"

The door is opened a second time and in walks Claxter - a somewhat familiar face - with two unknowns. One appears to be an Andalite that has undergone severe modification. The other is rather fox-like. These two beings worry him somewhat less than the Taxxon, for some reason. Well, it isn't like this is the first fox to walk through the door. And the Andalites have left me alone, for the most part...

Terenia waits anxiously, her nerves growing as time ticks on. She cannot seem to figure out where she wants to place her hands. She folds them, then unfolds them, then rests one on her hip in such a way that she looks absurdly like a teenaged human girl, then folds them again.

<How much longer?> she finally asks Corliss, unable to stand it.

Fiona raises an eyebrow. "You... didn't expect a... human... to speak English." Wonderful. She was talking to a regular Albert Einstein. She rolls her eyes. "And of course I hear them. It's called 'thought speak.' How else is something without a mouth supposed to talk?"

She smirks and reaches for her drink, which has mostly been forgotten. She takes a sip, makes a face, and waves it at the bartender.

Temrash heard a loud noise and skittering, which sounded like a Taxxon. However it was in the back and Temrash hadn't actually seen it. He thought maybe it was a member of his repair crew that got out. "I'd better go check that out. See if it was one of mine." He told kevlin, and made his way around the bar with drink in hand. The Taxxon was easy enough to follow, but when Temrash actually saw it he didn't recognize it.

"Hey. where did you come from?" he asked. Of all the species he had seen, he hadn't seen a Taxxon show up. He wondered if it was an Imperial, rebel, or just a lone Taxxon without a Yeerk.

We walked over to a damaged terminal, <We will start here.>

We poked our intraspanner into the section, and it opened the hole wider and smoother, <Now, come here.>

We pointed to a small object hanging on a ledge inside the hole, <Andalite, you may Hypostore this piece, Human reach around inside for other parts.>

Claxter shivered a little when Silver mentioned the Abyss of Fear. That had been just as bad an experience as actually being back on the battlefield, and only the knowledge that she couldn't logically send him back into the past had saved him.

He did as Theta said while scanning with his stalk eyes. It was a natural thing for him to do, and allowed him to see everything he needed to see without drawing suspicion.

<Alright, touchy/****y lady.. I can deal. Not like I expected everyone to just be all hunky-dorey.. Drink's not here yet either. Humans don't always- they French, Spanish.. Girman.. Then there's the Burblars..>
The fox gave a small sigh and shifted her attention away from the girl, leaving the gift of straws untouched. "When you've met giant mammals that beep and hiss and whirr, and humans that know four different languages each, yes. I sometimes find it surprising that English is used."

When the barman came back over, Saph took the opportunity to say "Coke." before he turned and walked away, hoping that this time he might be able to deliver. Then she sat sideways on her stool and looked out around the room, just observing and listening. For once, her thoughts were rather quiet.

"Sorry, I'm not a fan of stupid questions." Fiona takes back the straws and begins building again. "It's pretty dumb to assume that a human wouldn't speak a human language." She looks pointedly at this... fox-like person. "I think I should be the one asking why you're speaking English."

The bartender sets a new glass on gin and tonic in front of her. She smiles. "And being obnoxious might help you. Don't knock it."

She gave a dead set look to the drone. "I have a name. Its Artemis." she said. This thing would not be allowed to call her Silver as long as he talked about assimilation. She took a bit to try and figure out the darn contraption until she had a small amount to work with. She began to do as she was instructed, but she kept all of her senses up and she wondered if she could get away with having a little fun with this.

Where the drone began to look she began to send little pictures into his mind. He would see random parts or creatures and then they would fade and then another would appear and then fade. She was able to do this and keep her mind and body language on her task. She was able to get away with this kind of thing a lot.

Saphire furrowed her brows into a <You're kidding me, right?> face, her ear twitching as the bartender set down a can of coke to her right side before moving away again to do.. Whatever he was wont to do. "It's pretty dumb to assume that English is only used in human circles." She smiled back- The same sort of wry <I don't really like you all that much at the moment> smile before popping open her Coke and taking a sip. <Warm. Alright.>
"I will give you a point though- English is only a learned language to me. Spent some time on Earth for a while. It was fun being shot-at by farmers until I got to New York City. There are more Furs there than you'd think." (Ahem assuming that, within roleplays, there really ARE anthros on Earth. =P)

"What about yourself? You don't seem particularly happy sitting here. <You seem like you hate it, actually. I hope this isn't your job, and you're on break..>" She tilted her head and watched her new "companion" with slight interest, trying not to let someone despise her right from the get-go. Another sip of warm coke. Another somewhat curious glance around the room.

"Hmm. Well, the field of linguistics does seem to suggest it, at any rate." Fiona shrugs. "Whatever." She takes a few moments to concentrate on her straw-building. She has a sudden desire for a set of Lincoln Logs.

"I'm waiting for someone actually," she says off-handedly. "Or I was, anyway. I have no idea where he's supposed to be. Could've sworn he was following me." She frowns. "Hand me that straw there, would you?" She points at one that's rolled across the counter. "But yeah, I'm kind of sitting here trying to decide if I should keep waiting for him or just get on with the rest of my existence. Though I might as well wait. I haven't got anywhere else to be." She picks up her glass. "And the booze is good."

Finally, after what seems like an interminable wait, Reven's face appears on the holoscreen.

"Yes, Corliss?" Reven sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"It's Terenia again," Corliss says, tapping at the screen and widening the view to include both Ossanlin and the girl in question.

Reven's eyes widen.  "Ossanlin," he says, his face breaking into a surprised smile.  "It's been a while since I've spoken with you, my friend.  It is good to see you."  His attention turns to Terenia, and he continues gazing at her while he asks his brother, "What is it this time?  Has she changed her mind?"

"Well, it's a bit more complicated than all that," says Corliss, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously.  "You see, there's been a bit of a development that we feel you should know about, and Ossanlin would like to discuss the terms of allowing Efaen to remain within our ranks...that is of course...if you still allow them to join us."

Reven raises his eyebrows, looking back at Corliss.  "Is it all that bad?  I've seen this human girl's memory files, and she's already not exactly the picture of moral health.  Then again, many of us aren't.  I knew this before I spoke with her previously."

"Yes, but...hell, I reckon you can decide for yourself, then," Corliss replies.  He bites his lip, gesturing at Terenia.  "It's all yours, love."

Terenia's agitation quickly gives way to anxiety when Reven's face appears on-screen. For a Yeerk with such a harmless looking host he seems incredibly intimidating. Get ahold of yourself, she scolds herself. You put up with Visser Three for half a decade and now you're scared of the older brother from Pete and Pete?

<Right. Um...well,> Terenia takes a deep breath and steps forward, unfolding her arms and spreading them, palm outward, in a plea of innocence. <You know from my memory dump that there was a...situation...inv olving my sister. That particular issue has, um, resolved itself. After she was taken from the Empire against my wishes and her Yeerk was killed she became dangerous.>

Terenia is beginning to get into the story now. Painful as it is to discuss her sister, she is beginning to realize that she can make a pretty solid case against Tamora. <She paid a bounty hunter to kill me, and possibly others. She nearly succeeded, but did not. It was right after that when I first spoke with you. Once we were done I left Corliss' Skimmer and -> she falters now, arriving at the most painful part of the story.

<Ossanlin,> she glances at the Andalite. <brought her to me. Told me that her fate was my choice. I...she was beyond saving at that point. She had tried to kill me. She was desperate to regain a spot in the Empire. She was insane! So I...>

Terenia shrugs, trailing off. She realizes that her hands are clasped tightly and she is wringing them in a desperate sort of way. Forcibly she separates them and, shaking, awaits judgment.

Keshin's nudged out of her drunken stupor by the surprise appearance of a...a Taxxon?! That was pretty much the last thing she expected to see in a bar clearly designed for humanoid species. Actually, she'd been seeing a lot of things in this place that unfortunately reminded her of her work. Keshin grumbled, taking a sip of the new drink. This is awful. Clearly I needed to get farther out of the way. Might as well see what the Taxxon wants. He's speaking Galard...sort of. Sounds slurred, even for a Taxxon.

But before Keshin can do anything, the Taxxon scurries straight out the door. Good riddance, Keshin supposes. Keshin notes the young man and woman talking to one another and wonders if they have any clue what that was about. The young man looks...frightened and somewhat oblivious. Not the best choice, but they seem like they've been here a while.

Keshin wanders over to the two of them and says, "...what was with the Taxxon? And is this place always so...lively?"

Mar groans internally upon hearing that Salem has refused the trade. All of that hard work for nothing. Oh, well. He might be able to convince Salem at a later point. And what Salem was suggesting seemed...intriguing . He didn't know how the machine worked, but he's be interested to see what it picked up about him in this form. "Mmm...yes, I'd be willing to part with some of it. Although I suspect the body is mostly human but impossibly young. What exactly do you require?"
