TV References in the books

"The controllers dont go around twitching or exchanging Yeerk high fives or playing with their ears." #31 The Conspiracy

I just read 31 and noticed this haha do you think that last part is making fun of the TV show?

I know K and M said they hated the show and only watched like 2 episodes, do you think they or the ghost writers made any other references to it in the books?

I honestly never thought of that, but I really hope they did! I hated the TV show too! It was ridiculous! The whole point of the Yeerks was that you had no idea who the Controllers were, but in the TV show all you had to do was look out for the people who talked funny and kept scratching their ears!

Haha, yeah, that was a very noticeable reference to the tv show, but I think it was the only one that was ever made towards it in the books. Like K.A and Michael said, they never really watched more than the first two episodes, so they probably didn't have much to go on besides that.

I'm guessing that particular reference came from the second episode when Marco sees Tom scratch his ear and then looks back at Tobias suspiciously :P

Is this for just the Animorphs TV show because there's another one that is a reference to south park.

I was morphing elephant. All the sudden someone shouted "OH MY GOD! SHE KILLED KENNY!"
There was a little orange figure beneath me.

I loled at that.

And for your one, I never noticed that! HA!
I used to be V, before that I was Tobiasfan21. Then I disappeared for several months after being kidnapped by the Twilight series. Don't make me talk about it, it was horrible. Now, I'm V2113.

I am currently a Heroes fan who enjoys writing more than anything in the world.

I remember in the last book that Marco says they made a movie about the Animorphs and everything was done wrong.  I always thought that was a jab at the TV series.

If we're talking about regular TV references in Animorphs, then there are plenty to find. Xena is probably the biggest example. There was also a reference to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in #20 and in the episode "The Leader".
