I think he had to do with being able to see all the angles and then being able to focus on the most relevant and the most direct to reach his goal. He looks at a video game he says okay I've got two enemies over there, cover right here, side path, boulders overhead, If I shoot the boulders they will fall and kill the enemies, boom. He looks at a mission and says this is what the yeerks have, this is what we have, how do we get what we need.

 yeah, video games and cmputer games can do that. You're always trying to outthink your opponent and using surroundings.

Yes, but chess has horrendous graphics and there's no single player campaign mode.

single player what mode? what do you mean graphics? I'm talking about a 8x8 square board, 32 pieces, 16 black, 16 white, kings, queens, bishops, knights, rooks, pawns...what are you talking about?

lol, never mind. It was a joke. I know what you're talking about. I like chess too. I just also like video games. And movies, and reading, and music, and running. I have a lot of interests. :P One of them happens to be making bad jokes, apparently. :D

To explain the joke a bit better, I was using the same standards that people review video games with today to complain about live chess.
