Detecting the Chee
« on: June 26, 2015, 12:48:01 PM »
Since the Chee are androids, why can't the Yeerks detect them via metal detectors?

Just tell the Yeerks that you had to have a plat put in, or something. Something they put in after surgery, that sets things off. The yeerks aren't really all that bright. they don't even have a contingency plan in case controllers need to travel.

The Chee project force-fields that give the visual, and tactile, illusion of biological tissue. Safe to assume they can control a metallic signature going through that.
Their tech probably lets them fool any type of sensors the Yeerks have, biological or otherwise

Could the Chee block the action of a Gleet Bio-Filter, and thus be ale to smuggle Animorphs into the Pool?

They must at least be able to fool a Bio-Filter, or else the Chee that impersonate controllers wouldn't be able to go to the Yeerk pool to 'feed.'  :P

That said, whether or not they could smuggle the Animorphs inside would depend on what the Animorphs were planning to do in the Yeerk pool.  If their reasons involved violence and killing (and, with the Animorphs, it usually did), then it could conceivably violate the Chee's programming to help them.

Given that erek went on a mission to help the Animorphs fight Howlers, I don't think their programming prevents them from doing that kind of thing. It just keeps them from doing it personally. the Chee, like other groups, were underused. it took about 25 books before the Chee even started posing as the Animorphs while they were on missions. They should have started doing at least that in book 11. Granted they did have lives of their own, and I'm not sure exactly how many Chee there were, but if they started doing it later they could have started doing it sooner.
