I think Visser 3 eats his minions so often because its sort of a power thing. Or it could be that K.A. wanted to draw more comparisons to his twin who (SPOILERS) eats yeerks to survive.

Also, I think it'd have been kind of a cool twist if Andalites exclusively used morphing for artistic purposes - if Elfangor only gave the power to the kids because he didn't have any functioning weapons.  Fighting a war with art supplies.  Would have been sort of bleakly funny.

Well maybe they end up doing dancing with morphing as a form of art ... kind of like how Cassie seems to do it subconsciously.
