haha- thank you!
for both reading it and responding.
it doesn't happen often, but i was glad that i managed to get my thoughts out in a coherent manner (and in a way that i can still stomach to read a few hours later). it doesn't read at all like my first attempt at tackling the subject. ...which, if anyone goes back about 10? pages in my post history to read it, sounds like i had an enormous stick up my a*. ....which might've been the case. it's hard to tell, three years later. xD
anyway. thank god for work and my experienced seniors; i wouldn't know a damn thing about people otherwise. anyway, one of the things that i've learned from a well-seasoned coworker (that i've seen good evidence of myself) is that people rarely do anything intentionally maliciously. (unintentionally? well, i won't vouch for anyone's intelligence or common sense.) but even when they seemingly stab you in the back, they're not doing it against
you, but rather to deflect trouble to anywhere other than themselves. (and few cultures lift martyrs up. if someone sees that trouble's coming, does s/he just lay down and take it?) i don't condone the "weaseling out" approach to life, but i accept that few people know better ways to tackle the problems that they just don't want to touch.
anyway. huge, preachy tangent done; inner cassie is back in her closet.
i won't rule "they hate us" out. katmike could secretly be chuckling at us over their morning coffee. "those crazy kids," they might be saying, "still hanging on to that old series of ours, eh? are they gonna grow up any time soon? i thought for sure that ending would throw them off."
....but i doubt it.
