History of the RAFCast During the RAFChat on February 24, 2008, three users (ANItiger13, Duffman669, and Froggi) decided to tune into Animorphs: The Radio Drama. After noticing it was more of an Animorphs discussion than the book reading it claimed to be, duffman669 suggested that someone should make an Animorphs podcast, or something. Thus, the idea went through everyone's heads, rolling like a round rock down a steep hillside. And of course, it was only 2:00AM (EST). After the three users finished the basic planning, duffman669 went ahead and posted the idea on RAF. Later, mrlarry, Tobiarachel (Jax), and ANnaBaNAnA volunteered for hosting positions. After that, and a bit more planning as to how we'd work everything with more people now (having been planning on three or four originally), we casters were given our own password-protected forum on RAF, seeing as Richard wanted all our goings on to be done behind-the-scenes, so to speak -- he didn't want the cast ruined by knowing what was going to happen in advance, for anyone (including himself). Eventually, mrlarry and ANnaBaNAnA were given the host spots, and Jax decided he'd prefer to do his own segment, tacked onto the main body of the show (Thusly "Ask Jax" was born). Before recording, the casters decided it would be smart to do a test session on TeamSpeak and were incredibly right. The first test only had duffman669, ANItiger, and ANnaBaNAnA, but it was still a smart idea. There were several more tests performed along the way before the first recording, but none of them ever combined the entire cast. In June of 2008, after recording only one episode, Jax left the podcast, due to time constraints. The search for the next 'Caster is being looked into by the remaining ones -- and so far it's looking like Truth, and we intend to try him out, so to speak, before we look into anyone else. With the first 'casting recorded and many more on the way, we proud RAFCasters are learning to be a bit more comfortable speaking and interacting around each other, trying to perfect our on-cast 'chemistry' and make the best RAFCast possible for everyone. |
RAFCast: The Show The casters decided on breaking up the main section of the cast into several smaller, diverse segments to keep the listeners into the podcast (and to keep it interesting for ourselves, as well). They decided that the main section would consist of RAF News, Role Play and Fanfiction spotlights, a book review...and who knows, maybe they'll add more as they go along. Along with that, the "Ask Jax" segment will be thrown in the mix, as well as a good, old-fashioned interview. Hopefully...somebody other than us will actually like it too ;) |
