Hello everyone!
I'm Mary

Soooo if you look at my profile I joined in 2010. And then I made one post on here, in 2011. I read occasionally but I've never really immersed myself into the fandom. And I'd like to do that. This board is so impressive, its been over a dozen years since the series ended and there are still new posts on here almost every day. It's amazing and wonderful.
My background: I got the first two books at a Scholastic Book Fair I guess in September of 1996, right after 5th grade started for me. I bought the 3rd book after that and I never, ever looked back. For almost 5 years, I purchased each book as it was released. I can honestly say I was raised on Animorphs. The series ended when I had just finished my freshman year of high school. Crazy. So much of my childhood is wrapped up in my memories of the Animorphs. For the beginning of the series I had a group of friends who was equally obsessed. We were writing Animorphs fanfiction/roleplaying the characters before I even knew what fanfiction and roleplaying were!
Some of my favorite books I read multiple times (mostly the early ones, when I was waiting for new books to come out, the Andalite/Hork-Bajir Chronicles, and #54) but for the most part I only had read the entire series all the way through one time, until 2011 (when I made my one lonely post). I re-read it again last year, so I've gone through the whole thing 3 times total. I wish so much of the series wasn't ghostwritten. I'd be happier to ignore several of those books.
I thought the TV series was okay for what it was and when it was made, if you can separate it from the books a little bit. I didn't watch the TV show until after the series had finished, because we didn't have cable when I was a kid. Someone on the livejournal fan community sent me DVDs they had made of the series so I could see it (was it you? message me!) I guess I would be kind of excited if a movie came out but it wouldn't really change what I have in my head, I don't think. That was solidified ages ago.
I have an excessively large Animorphs collection that I have been working on for years. I have a lot of stuff that isn't listed on the Hirac Delest merchandise database. I'm hoping I can post pictures of it here sometime soon (its all carefully wrapped up in boxes at my parents house... where I haven't lived in over 8 years, but I don't have a lot of space where I am right now so I can't keep a lot of my stuff here).
Last fall, one of my dreams came true and I met Michael Grant at a book festival in DC. I'm still hoping to meet K.A. sometime soon, like in the next year.
Its so great to meet all of you.
