Guys, we hate to step out of the party, but our heart and energy just aren't in this, right now. We've left Enorryma's situation up in the air, for the GM or anybody else to decide, if they want it.
Feel free to Yeerk her, NPC-ify her, stick her in a coma indefinitely, or kill her off outright. The current situation is ambiguous enough to allow for any of these, and either way, we've left her destabilized enough that if she does survive, it wouldn't be unreasonable for somebody else to replace her as TO.
Norry has had as long personal history of coming out lucky, of outliving the people beside whom she worked, flew, and fought. She's not young any longer, and maybe fortune's wheel has finally come around fully to swing in the other direction. Maybe it's time for somebody else to inherit her lifetime's worth of good luck, while she pays up on old debts. She's superstitious, and that's certainly how she would see it- to be crippled, comatose, or killed by something as 'undignified' as a stroke or aneurysm, instead of being blasted out of the sky, the way she rightfully could have been, hundreds of times in the past.
If somebody wants her to survive and recover, she'll always continue to doubt her health and body integrity, and others will always doubt her infallibility, even if they try not to show her that doubt. She'll avoid eyes-contact, hauteur replaced by a haunted look. She will dream constantly of those she lost and outlived, the shots she could have taken but didn't, countless other failures minute and massive. She will up her stim dosage just to avoid sleeping, avoid dreaming, and the dreams will follow her into her waking life, bringing with them the voices of every wingman, or superior, or subordinate she ever felt she failed. She'll be a walking liability who happens to be just competent enough to be dangerous, and old superstitions and prejudices will come back to the surface as she descends deeper and deeper into her hallucinatory version of the past.
We feel this is adequate material for a hazardous NPC, if the game needs one at any point. There's no reason she can't be put into coma cold storage indefinitely, until such an NPC is needed. There's also no reason she can't be killed off at the first opportunity. We leave it in your hands, folks. Sorry to vanish on you; good game.
