He was just thinking about taking it to his ship to scan it, and see what he could do with it. I don't know if Humans could be able to replicate the technology, but that's likely not the kind of thing Elfangor wanted to happen.

Luke, that post was... dark. And impressive. Ohh, this is going to be interesting when everything comes to a head...

Honestly, considering the Andalite method of ingestion (that is, I've never pictured actual grass running up the legs- rather the nutrients are absorbed directly into the bloodstream at the hooves; the wording in all the books seems to support this), I doubt the Andalites are capable of producing solid waste at all.

Ax ate a snail once. I'm not really sure if they're just taking nutrients, or injesting crushed grass, or not. I have to imagine any organism produces waste at some point, and is expelled in some way.

If you read that part again, it's implied that he simply crushes the snails and absorbs the protein, which then keeps him awake. It doesn't read as though he ingested a whole snail.

And yeah, the Andalites must produce waste-- for one thing, they have a toilet. For another, they're organic creatures :P Thing is, I'm having trouble picturing what form that would take. Liquid waste exclusively is possible, I suppose, but I don't know how likely. In any case, it needs to be something that would be expelled in such a way that the Andalites aren't just going to step on it again and ingest it.

...

I just had a thought. What if all Andalite waste is processed and expelled as gas? And an Andalite toilet is just a well-ventilated private room? :P

That would be funny. Just a small room with vents, and maybe air fresheners. Then one day someone walks in and sees a puddle of urine or a pile of turds.

Actually there was an episode where they found a toilet with green stuff. It's not just gas. I always thought it would be funny if Tobias said he recognized it, as well as Ax.

They expel semi solid or solid matter.

On the bathroom, I hadn't really thought about how the actual elimination would be accomplished, but I've been referring to "toiletries units" for a while...that would be like a bathroom.  The place where body cleansing and elimination takes place.  So I was thinking there would be a toiletries unit in each quarters (except perhaps the aristh and Warrior quarters which would each likely have communal units).

As for Este, I will send her a PM and see if she's still hanging around and not busy.  I certainly hope she is.  There wasn't much for Norry to do until now.  Just a quick FYI, Chad, Norry's currently standing at the helm piloting the ship and performing several diagnostic checks to verify ship health.  Also, Norry's rank is Prince Commander.  But I'll send her a PM to see what's up.  ^^

So do I re-eliminate the bathroom or what? This is a crucially important issue for our constituents! XD *Snickers*

You're in one of the Lead Officer cabins...there would be a toiletries unit, and probably a "luxury" one at that.  Meaning big.  At least big for a space-ship.  I suppose in those cabins, it would be partitioned off.  So no need for elimination.  Hurr hurr.

Thanks! We've posted the initial training phase for flying the ship; we implied but didn't state outright the completion of the absolutely rudimentary part of things. If that's a little too much Yeerking of the situation, let us know, and we'll adjust the continuity of our post accordingly. We just figure that Claxter's the kind of guy who would pick this stuff up really fast, and probably wouldn't want to dwell too long on basic details which are probably roughly the same from console to console and vessel to vessel; that'd be like explaining to a computer programmer how a new browser works, and taking the time to point out that X in the corner means 'exit.'

I couldn't remember if Salem had actually heard anything about the deal between Corliss and Keshin ending or going bad-- I'm not sure when it happened. I'm like 90% sure that'd be news to Salem, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeeeesh.  :kitty: *Much purring involved here*

Anyway...<3

It's actually possible that the deal went south simply because Corliss is dead. XD And, well, so is much of the rebellion. The situation under which Corliss could provide Keshin with medicine for exclusive rights...pretty much no longer exists in Rogue Element.
