Value of Animorphs collection.
« on: August 13, 2008, 09:22:26 AM »
Has anyone here sold their Animorphs collection, and if so, how much did you get for it?

I'm moving in a few months and, though I loved the books, I simply don't have space for them, not to mention they haven't come off their shelves in ages.

I have the entire series. Books 1-54, Andalite Chronicles, Hork-Bajir Chronicles, Ellimist Chronicles, Visser, Megamorphs 1-4, Alternamorphs 1 and 2, and that poster of Animorphs aliens that came with one of the books. All are in more or less great condition save for a few bends here and there.

How much do you think I'd get for it?

I saw the entire set go up on eBay for over three hundred dollars.

I think it could really vary depending on the demand for the series. I've never actually seen the whole series on Ebay, so I'm not entirely sure.

I wish I still had that poster! I got it with the Animorphs Year 2000 calendar, but I lost it...  :'(

I dont think I ever had that poster, i had the calendar though, what the hell lol

My set cost me 250 on ebay and it was everything but visser. I think they go between 200-300, more around 200 though unless you are lucky

Personally i would box them and throw them in a corner somewhere, you'll regret selling eventually, then you'll end up buying a new set on ebay for 250 haha

I used to have the whole set, or pretty close to it. However, I donated it to a library in my home town. Some of them were falling apart, and I just didn't feel like reading them much after the ending.

I don't know how much they would have sold for.

Well, as much as I might regret selling them later on, $200 is something I can't deny myself at the moment.

The only significant damage to any book is Book 9, which is missing the first 10 pages (they fell out when the book was left on the dashboard of my car the day I got it, glue melted). Hopefully I'll get something nice.

I was gonna say, I'd go look on ebay if I were you, if you're thinking of selling them online, other than that, all you can do is take them to a used book store or your library (if they're one of the ones that buy books) and ask them how much they'll give you for them.

Although selling them is considered a sin...

I think I spend about $150 getting the last half of the books off Ebay, so if you're really intent on selling them you can get some decent money from it.
YOU'RE WINNER !

At a yard sale, I bought 17 books for $5. Someone had already snagged the rest of the kid's series.

They'll always sell for less at yard sales because the people probably aren't that big of fans and aren't aware of the demand.

I just saw someone selling the entire collection of Animorphs books, a few Everworld and Remnants books, and some Animorphs action figures with the starting bid at $200.

I was sorely tempted...
