Watercolors seemed to fall out of the sky and paint the city. Famous landmarks were created, as if by the brush strokes of some painter. Rukh and I were standing on the Stature of Liberties Torch, with a fantastic view of the whole island. It was weird but I could really feel the enhanced senses. I had eagle like vision and hawk-like hearing. Far away I could see arny and ani standing on top of the Empire State Building. I decided to test what else I had. "Let's see how the range is on our powers." Rukh grinned in response but then his look changed to confusion. "How do we use them?" I pondered the speech and replied "I think we just have to think about them. Focus on getting the maximum distance." I squinted at the building and focused on a ireball. Roughly a quarter of the distance a ball of fire the size pf a basketball appeared mid-air. Beside it a similar one, made of electricity. "That's the best we can do?" He said in disbelief. I smiled at him. "Dude if we could use them at any distance, I could just hide somewhere and set someone on fire until they die. Let's try to launch the energy at them." I focused on the fireball shooting forward. It arched back like an invisible slingshot was being drawn by an invisible four year old.
In my head their was a solid TWANG! and the shot launched at a good one hundred twenty miles per hour. Ani reacted faster. He jumped in front of his partner and held out his hands as if tat would stop it. Right before it would make contact I noticed an odd shimmering in the air in front of him, "THWOK!" As if the fireball had mass, it made a thump as it collided with Ani. I was feeling pretty good until the fire cleared. They were both completely unharmed. "What the....?" I sputtered out. Then realization hit me. The guy took the same power as me, the force shield.
