RAF Forum updated!

Ok guys,

I took the liberty to update the forum software (SMF) to the latest build 2.0.

This means that during the next few hours/days/weeks we will be bringing the forum back to it's previous state in terms of features added over the past few years. So if you can't do certain things like view your Karma log; or even see advertisements, don't be frightened, these features may return.

That being said, the Forum now benefits from 100s of new features on your end and on the back-end.

So enjoy.

One question.  Will we eventually be going back to the traditional ‘RAF’ appearance?  Blue background, fancy lettering and all?  I don't mean to sound ungrateful, since I am excited about new features , but it’s just that I really liked the way the forum looked before and I would be sad to see it go.

Yeah I agree with DN. The previous appearance and layout is much preferable to this one.

I'd love to bring the forum back to how it looked prior to the move here. But time is scarce these days.

That's okay, I don't mean you have to do it right this instant.  I was just worried that it was gone forever and I'd never see it again.

You're good at graphics, so I think I will be calling on you

If you need some help with that Richard, you can email me the .zip files of the old theme and the current one and I can modify the php and image files to match. I can even come up with a couple of RAF themes if you would like. That way users can choose their own theme.

Wow. Okay, I really, really like this one! I miss the old layout, but...  This one's nice! Question, on other SMF forums I've been on, users have the ability to change the design for themselves. Like, they have different themes to choose from; is that something we'll be getting with this update? That'd probably appease everyone if it's possible. Otherwise, do what you do, Rich. You haven't done us wrong yet.

Thank you, but keep in mind that I work best with small designs and such, not so much with larger logos and patterns.  So I don't really know how much help I'll actually be in this case.
