The yeerks second weakness.
« on: April 12, 2011, 11:41:09 PM »
                              Part 1: the sound.

As my fingers flew over six strings and a demonic whale reverberated off the solid rock walls I remembered what got me into this situation. As animals ranging from 7 feet to 5 feet tall alike clutched their ears in agony the events of the past week flooded over me.

I was a fourteen year old musician. I was infested for about six months  it came to me by chance or maybe some higher power had a hnad in it. For my birthday my parents had sound proofed the gaurage and gave me an electric guitar with a small amp. As soon as I started a guitar solo it happened. Apparently a certain tone is torture to the yeerks. It was incredibly lucky that the garage was soundproofed because the slug lost control and started screaming as the noise exhoed in my ears. Then the writhing parasite wrestled out of my ear and lied in the floor in relief, gratefull for once to be deaf in its natural state. I had made a shocking discovery more deadly than the oatmeal weakness because it forced the yeerk out. First thing was first. I called all my friends to come to my house and played the solo forr them. 2 out of 6 fell on the floor in agony while the slugs crawled out of their ears after stomping a few times and explaining to my friends what had just hapened they were ready to storm the yeerk pool.

I wonder what this would do...  Nice writing BTW. I've written quite a few stories myself, non-animorphs related.

It's not a bad idea if you could broadcast it then you would have loads of free controllers enough to wake humanity up to the threat of the Yeerks. Course the Yeerks would go to Plan B and then forcefully enslave the Earth with fire.
Temporal Traveller Aquilai: "One small step back in time. One GIANT leap for mankind."
"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts… their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"

Well unless there was a way that a specific frequency bothered the yeerks even in without a host. If there was a way that frequency could be broadcasted nonstop for enough time to permenently damage the yeerks with no adverse effects to other species then that would be a good solution. Unfortunately, the probability of this is highly unlikely.

Its not a physical thing its just that something inside their tiny brains that can't stand the noise. and once they all leave the bodies the controller gets their shoes a little messy then runs.

Part two: The reverb

We had dscovered what had caused the sound and why it was undisscovered. My guitar wasnt perfectly tuned. just one of the knobs was slightly off angle. We took notes and pictures to be ready for the time I would need it. After a sleepless night we had a plan. I would come to the pool on schedule with my guitar and amp. My friends would be armed with shovels and hammers knocking out any controllers that intercept us on the way. Then we sneak into the voluntary controller lounge and plug the amp in. After that we let all hell loose.
