Did Stargate Steal from K.A.

The show and the books are really similar with the yeerks and the gou'ld except that stargate the show came after animorphs. The movie came before but it had a lot of differences.

I was wondering when somebody would bring this up. I really like Stargate, I've actually been watching some more of it recently, but I highly doubt anybody was stealing ideas. They are far from the first people to come up with the idea of aliens that take over your body/mind. Technically, the idea goes back thousands of years to the days when anybody who had epilepsy was "possessed by a demonic spirit."

They might've worked off of each other, maybe one of the Stargate SG-1 writers' kids was reading Animorphs or something...and Stargate has a sort of peace movement group of parasites called the Tok'ra...maybe K.A. was watching?

As for the topic, no, I don't think anyone stole ideas off anyone else here. In terms of Stargate and Animorphs anyway.

I also saw that similarities between Animorphs and Stargate, but I thought Stargate began before.
But it's true: Yeerks <=> Gou'ld ; Pacific Yeerks <=> Tok'ra...
Yeerks are in the head, Gou'ld around the spine...

If anything, Stargate may have stolen from KA, but has anyone watched Star Trek: Wrath of Khan?!
Or the ep with the things in TNG?
To be honest, I think the idea of parasites is just one of those things that's been passed down through the ages in Sci-fi. I've ran into it so many times. There were things with gills out of the backs of people's necks (TNG), the Trill (TNG and DS9), things in people's shoulders (some book series my dad read), the latest non-Dresden Butcher novels (kind of obvious there), Venom (sp? Spiderman 3), some manga or something called Parasite (duh), and I'm sure plenty of other examples of parasitic aliens taking control of people. Even parasitic aliens taking control of people with the best intentions or working to fight against the stance of the other aliens, or whatever.
(To be honest, I'm an Atlantis fan. I haven't really watched SG-1 and am sort of playing catch-up with Atlantis, so I have a very, very basic understanding of the Gou'ld and the Tok'ra, which comes from my friend... I really need to steal my other friend's Atlantis DVDs...)

You're right, we can see that everywhere ^_^ It's just that Stargate seemed quite close to Animorphs...

Team of underground top secret guerilla soldiers trying to defend their planet from alien parasites while they learn about the galaxy?  And actually get to go to other planets? (The Animorphs do, on Leera, and go to space a few times...)

Nah, not similar at all...

Only thing is, SG-1 is government funded x3

Goverment funded military operation which later uses advanced alien-based technology and weapons to fight alien threats... and a bunch of teenage kids that can turn into animals. Still sound similar? 

Okay, so I know there are similarities, but I highly doubt that either of them were stolen. For one thing, I believe the original Stargate movie aired before Animorphs started, but on the other hand the TV series began not long after Animorphs started (which means they'd probably been working on it for a while).

We do all get our ideas from somewhere, but that doesn't make the ideas "stolen." I'd say it's more like inspiration. People just spot similarities and assume that one of them is copying.

Umm... Stargate came before Animorphs... And besides, the idea of mind controlling parasites goes back to the Dark Ages.
