KA had ghostwriters write a lot of the later books because she was busy with other stuff. Her new book series, for example. Would anyone have rather her just write a book or two where the Andalites actually do come and save Earth, instead of having ghostwriters take over to keep the series going?

And I mean save Earth in a good way. In the beginning they say they're just trying to hold off the Yeerks until the Andalites get there. I was once under the impression that this was how KA would end the series if she got tired of writing books, or got busy, or whatever.

uh...no. That just seems...I don't know...weird. No, keep the ending as it is.

no, the ghostwriten books were a little lower quality but they doubled the size of our beloved series, and alot of them were great stories and were written really well, sure they missed the tone of the origionals most of the time but hey, somethings better than nothing

Would have ruined the series even though I HATE the idea of ghostwriters as a rule.

Then again the ending we got wasn't much better...  But that's for another topic.

Yeah, it wouldn't have been good if the Andalites saved it...Just seems like it would have worked out too well. The ghostwritten books weren't the same, but how the series is works perfectly.
There's a method to my madness, I just haven't figured it out yet.

lol by then I didn't really like the Andalites that much so I'd much prefer the Earthlings save Earth :)

That's a lot of quick replies. Even the guy that dislikes ghostwriters in general said no. Well, it was just a thought. I don't think it would have ruined the series, since that was the Animorph's mission. Not to save the world, but to just slow down the invasion until the "calvary" showed up.

but it would have mulled the message, their mission changed slowly as they realized that the andalites werent coming, them waiting for their saviors was a juvenile hope that died out as they all came to realize that they were fighting the war, alone

having the andalites come and save the day would have told kids hey, dont worry about facing your problems head on, someone will come save you, its not your job

But they are kids...so it really isn't.

I never really cared for the thought of her trying to send a message about war. Maybe because I was old enough to know that already.

Telling kids that it's ok to let someone more experienced handle the really complicated and hard stuff is fine, because they are kids. I don't see that as a bad message to send to kids, because people that young do need to have people they lean on.

Does that make better sense? It's ok for kids to not have to make adult decisions, because they aren't adults.

Maturity levels should matter more than age itself, but I think discussing that may be off topic.

Good point

but im an adult (kinda lol) and i was a kid when i read animorphs, and i took the lessons that they learn, and i think they still affect me.

So even if the lesson was okay for me when I was a kid (in your opinion, personally i think kids should learn to be independent but thats kinda off topic as you said) its not okay for me to carry with me into adulthood, and whos there to tell me not to?

I agree wholeheartedly.  I learned alot from the books (more than I realized as it turns out).  I don't think the message should have been diluted with an Andalite return.  That's exactly what Applegate seemed to be trying to avoid.

Hell no. I loved these adventures. They were damn good ghostwriters. Why do people always bring them up?

The Extreme, The Attack, The Sickness, The Illusion, The Prophecy, The Weakness, The Arrival, The Other, The Journey and The Revelation were all fantastic.

This great evil - where's it come from?
How'd it steal into the world?
What seed, what root did it grow from?
Who's doing this?
Who's killing us, robbing us of life and light, mocking us with the sight of what we mighta known?
Does our ruin benefit the earth, aid the grass to grow and the sun to shine?  Is this darkness in you, too?  Have you passed through this night?
