The Alien that was talking to me was an Andalite, I remembered that from school. "Honestly, I don't remember anything from before I got here, I don't even remember getting on this ship." I told the group. I thought hard about where I was before I got on this ship, but everything was blank.

"I'll remember that advice Reli." I responded to Reli. When the new guy walked up and said he didn't remember any thing I was shocked. "What do you mean you don't remember! Do have amnesia or something?"

Just then my stomach growled. "Oh, I probably ought to get some food. We should find a table and keep talking there." I stepped into line and got some food. I turned and scanned for an empty table. When I found one I headed that way.

I followed the boy that look about my age, and got a plate of food. "I guess I do have amnesia, since I can't remember anything before being here, not even how I got here, then this is be a problem." I looked around. "Can you explain what this is, what kind of ship or how you guys got here? I am going to have to stay with you guys to be safe." I didn't want be alone in an unfamiliar place, the people her already met me.

<You may call me Reli; these are Chris and Shaun. What should we call you? As for what kind of ship this is, I have never seen the like of it, and I can only make guesses at its purpose. It is probably a smuggling ship run my refugees or mercenaries, as I have told Chris and Shaun. I cannot guarantee your safety in this place, because I do not know why they brought us here, but I can advise that you stay away from that type of creature, since in my experience they view humans as food.> Reli gestured with her tail toward the Taxxons and Kelbrid across the room.

"Names Dru, thanks for the advice!" I told Reli. "Since none of us know where we are, we should atleast find out what kind of ship this is, and where it will be landing. I am not sure about you guys, but I want to find a way to get off." I got up and started walking out of  the mess room, trying to avoid the more dangerous aliens. "You guys coming?" I asked them rhetorically.

<I like how you think, Dru. Shaun and Chris, as it seems we have acquired a new ally, I would prefer not to leave him wandering the ship alone. If the two of you would join me, I shall also be investigating the ship. I believe you will be fairly safe on this side of the mess hall, if you are not finished eating, as long as you do not wander off from here... however, we would be safest as a group, if we are to leave this space. I leave the choice to both of you, but I will be going this way.>

Reli gestured with her stalk eyes in the direction Dru had started walking. She caught up to him in a few paces.

<If anything happens, I can cover your back against single enemies, as long as you stay close to me. Do not expect to outrun most of the creatures on this ship, nor to win a fight with your human body. Do you have any skill with morphing or hand-held weapons? I had a morphing cube and spare Shredder, but it seems they were confiscated when we were brought aboard, so I cannot lend you anything at this time.>

I was surprised that she said she had the morphing power, most Andalites do, but it is still kind of strange. "Sorry Reli, but I don't know how to use a shredder, or have any experience with the morphing power, I haven't even seen it in action." I have passed the option in the past to see recordings of the morphing power. "I remember there was a room on the ship holding lots of items, I found it when I was looking for people. It was locked, but I found the card key." I reached into my pocket and showed it to Reli. "Maybe we can go to the room and search for the morphing cube. I will be glad to help you guys out." I was so happy that I might be able to have the morphing ability.

Reli's eyes widened as she saw the key card in Dru's hand- surprising that he managed to obtain it, and more surprising that the ship ran on simple magnetic strip identifiers and not biometrics.

Oh, of course- with this many species and most probably morph-capable, biometrics would be nearly useless for security, but so would thought-speech access for anybody who cannot use it.

At a deeper level of thought, Reli began to question her 'luck' in finding this human... if he was in fact human, and not somebody in morph, or a lingering remnant of the failed Yeerk Empire. This whole set-up seemed too choice, but she didn't have enough evidence to confirm the lad wasn't simply a very skilled and curious pickpocket, but otherwise ordinarily human.

<Do you remember where this room is? If so, let us go to it and see if we cannot find my personal effects and those of my companions.>

If this is a trap, I don't see the point of it. We're already captive on this ship. With those odds in mind... I shall chance this and perhaps regain my sidearm and the portable Escafil Device.

"Yeah! The room isn't very far from here." I told Reli, I left the mess room and walked to the door to the room holding belongings of others. I waited for Reli.

Reli stood next to Dru, tail arched and ready for any surprises, waiting for him to use the key on the door.

I hurried to gulp down a few bites after Dru suggested exactly what I was thinking. I followed Reli and waved to Shaun. "Come on! I don't want to be left behind." I was pretty sure there were plenty of aliens on this ship that could kill me before I could finish morphing. I was much safer with Reli.

I fell into step behind Reli and Dru and listened as Dru said he had the keycard to some sort of armory or something. "Did they just leave lying about?" I asked, incredulous. Who would do that?

As we reached the door I saw Reli arch her tail. I knew that I wouldn't be able to do anything until I morph, I stepped to the side with hopes that I would be able to help in time if something happened.

I saw Chris catch up with us, with Reli as cover I swiped the card on the reader attached to the wall and the door slid open.
The first thing I noticed in the walk in closet sized room was a blue glowing cube, the size of one of those old puzzle cubes sitting by a shredder. I picked up the cube first which sent a small electric shock throughout my body, I put the morphing cube in my pocket. I grabbed the shredder and walked out the room.
A reptilian alien rushed towards me, and put his hand on my shoulder and gripped it hard. "Human! What are you doing with that weapon!" The Hork-Bajir growled at me. I placed my hand on top of his and focused. I felt his grip on my shoulder relax, and I watched his eyelids flutter. I acquired the Hork-Bajir.
I thought about shooting him with the shredder, but instead I handed Reli her Shredder, and hoped she had a more safe way to get rid of the now passive Hork-Bajir.

Reli took a moment to acquire the same Hork-Bajir Dru had acquired, using the tall alien's stupor as an opening- FWAPP! - to knock him unconscious with the flat of her tail blade.

Reli grabbed one of the Andalite-fitted utility belts sitting on a crate nearby and slipped it across her torso, holstering the Shredder before turning her stalk eyes to give Dru a hard look.

<I do not think you are unintelligent, considering how much you have already discovered of this ship in your time here, so I do not know if you have a death wish or if you are just terribly lucky and certain of my ability to protect you. Do you have any idea how quickly that Hork-Bajir could have removed your hand- or your head! -  if he had considered you an enemy?> Her thought-speech was caustic with barely-concealed worry- either that this young human would get himself killed on her watch... or that he'd get all of them killed when his apparent blind luck ran out.

Reli could hear clawed feet approaching from the direction down the hallway opposite the one they'd come from.

<Everybody, arm yourselves. We need to get out of here before we find ourselves surrounded.>

This human Dru cannot be as simple as his surface appearance. He recognized my Shredder from every other weapon on the pile... how does a young Earthling get such ready knowledge of Andalite weapons that he can tell a standard-issue Andalite military sidearm from civilian marksman's Shredder tailored for a female Andalite grip? He knew how to employ the Escafil Device without a walk-through, and he even knew how to collapse it to transport size. None of this makes any sense.

Reli turned toward the open hatch, eyes watching the wall across from the hatch for moving shadows that would indicate the arrival of company.

"Relax, I am still alive, right?" I reminded Reli. When she told us to arm ourselves, I guessed she meant for us to morph, which somehow I just knew how to do. I focused on the Hork-Bajir DNA inside of me. The first to change was my skin which transitioned to a dark olive green color and broke out in scales, then with a sickening SPLOOSHH a lizard-like tail grew out of my behind. My feet turned into sharp talons and my body grew until it was around 7 feet tall. Blades grew from multiple spots of my body, and my neck became long and snake-like. My fingers became wicked sharp claws. I was then fully Hork-Bajir.
I stripped a Hork-Bajir sized belt containing a dracon beam from the one Reli just knocked out, and strapped it onto me. I picked up the card key and opened up the door. I used my new strength to put the Hork-Bajir in the room, I walked out, letting the door shut.
Just then another Hork-Bajir walked towards us. "Farush, Sir! what are you doing with those human and that Andalite?" It took me a couple seconds to realise he was talking to me. I focused on my new comrades <<What I do? He thinks I am the Hork-Bajir i morphed, and It sounds like I have authority over him too.>> I asked.

I was the last to leave the mess hall. What I found wasnt what I had hoped for right there was Reli and Chris standing in between two Hork-Bajir! I did the first thing I could think of and hoped Reli and Chris would understand. I ran at the Hork-Bajir with his back to me and placed my hands on his midsection. He fell into the trance and he was acquired. "Guys take care of the other one!"
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.
