Not at all gh. You have to understand that most of us have been RPing together for years, some longer than others. Myitt and I, for example, had our first RP together (with Ossanlin and Myitt I might add...) about...what would you say Tara...16 years ago or thereabouts? Ossanlin and Myitt have been developing as characters for at least as long, and I'm not kidding...it's really been over 15 years since we made these characters. They have very rich, developed backgrounds. As such, they also have very long, pre-established relationships with each other.
In addition, a lot of us know each other in real life. I've actually met Tara (Myitt) and her hubby when they were moving cross-country. And though I personally have never met Jessi (Terenia), I have spoken to her on Skype and cell, and she and Tara are rl business partners and they hang out all the time. They've even LARP'd before. :p And you guys correct me if I'm wrong, but you and Kells (Shenmue) have hung out too, right? And Scott (Aluminator) too if I'm not mistaken. And Chad's been with us since the reboot of the GESB about what...8 - 9 years ago?
Anyway, none of this should discourage you from joining our little RP family! The more the merrier. ^^ Like all families, we have our ups and downs, and sometimes go a long time without talking, but we mostly stick together. So join in on our craziness! :p
Just to give you a bit of background... Ossanlin is the Captain of a Dome Ship and a Yeerk-Rebel sympathizer. If you want to learn more about him, your character will just have to engage him or ask someone else who knows him. :p That's part of the fun! Myitt is a member of a hidden Yeerk rebellion that fights the Empire. I'm guessing Dalik is a member of the Pirate rebellion (separate and less-scrupulous), but that's just my personal suspicion. Myitt and Terenia have a hugely developed backstory and tons of characters surrounding these rebellions. They put my own efforts at backstory to shame, though if you're interested, I've posted some "fanfic" in that section of RAF called Paragon Prince which is a portion of Ossanlin's backstory. Not asking you to read it by any means, just letting you know it's there if you get bored one day. XD
The GESB itself stems from a website that was in existence during the height of Animorphs popularity back when KA was releasing them called "Kimmeree's Anichat." Myitt and I met in a chat room on that website called "The Galaxy's Edge Space Bar," or something very similar. We often live-rp'd in those chat rooms and it was a lot of fun. Of course it died off after the heyday was over. Eventually one of us opened a forum-type RP of the same name that had it's ups and downs, until finally someone opened the thread on RAF...and here we are today.
The Bar Tender (BT for short) is a sort of elder god that entertains Himself by bringing lots of different people into His little "bar" establishment from multiple different universes and watching the ensuing chaos. He never speaks...only writes on His pad, often saying "cash or tab." When not serving a drink or flashing His pad, He can often be seen dry-washing a single glass endlessly. Because of the nature of His abilities, the fabric of space-time is weak in and around the planetoid upon which the bar is located. Other notable assets on the planetoid (aside from the parking lot and bar) are a ship graveyard, a large forest with clearings, and a lake surrounded by green grass.
Anyway, please don't feel like you're an outsider, because you're not! If you're curious about the backstory, have your character ask!
