Yes, the first stage is the injection of nanoprobes. The process where they conjoin and form subcutaneous(a few rupture from inside you...just a warning
) transponders, controllers, etc., would take about...20 seconds max. The nanoprobe's priority would be to create the cranial interplexing beacon, which would take about 5 seconds in itself. Once the beacon activates, in about .7 seconds after it's assembled, it would take about...2 seconds for the collective interlink to activate, and another for you to lose control of your free will. So all in all, about 8.7 seconds to lose emotion.
You'll still have a will for about a day or two, until you are "broken", to put it mildly. At that point most give in entirely to the collective.

Yes, Chad's right. It's technology developed by Theta's Alvie collective. It's usually used for engineering and fixing things, but it can be useful for putting a target out of operation.
