they changed it to 'dirty' to better fit the cover, but it still failed.

The only time where the models fit at how I pictured them was in MM4. But the way they looked there was how I imagined them to look at the end of the series when they were all like 17. Rachel and Tobias were both a little off though :/  I dunno I guess I'm picky at how they are in my head.
And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

*winces* I always had a bit of a crush on the standard Jake model. :P
He pulls off the "weight of the world seriousness" fairly nicely.

As for actors/actresses...

alas that I always imagine Rachel portrayed by Amy Jo (Kimberly in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers).
The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

The pictures of what the animorphs were supposed to look like were screwed up so many times in the series, there are like three almost completely different Marcos. As for dream actor(ess) I don't really know who I would pick...I guess you could use the kid from home alone for tobias?
Meh.

As I say pretty much every time this thread comes up, you almost have to go with unknowns if animorphs is ever made again, because you know what happens if you don't?  Who's the right age?  Miley Cyrus for Rachel and the Jonas brothers for Jake, Tobias, and Ax.  Actually, given her portayal as Jane in Twilight (not that I saw it... cough) Dakota Fanning might be able to pull of Rachel, but she too will be too old soon.

A 30 year old playing a 15 year old might be a bit of a stretch. haha
She still looks great, dont get me wrong, but  she's not a teen anymore. nor is she blond for that matter.

but I thought the idea was to have current choices that could play animorphs, not "could have back when they were younger"

I do like Dakota Fanning, Twilight aside. She's quite a good actress, and is certainly pretty enough to be Rachel. But again, she's getting just a tad too old. If a movie is made fairly soon, though, she would easily be my vote.

I agree, Dakota Fanning would be great! And I'm pretty sure she could play Rachel as she is in the books.

Fanning is a great actress, but along with possibly being too old she's also too famous for my tastes.

Yeah I think if there were to be a movie they'd have to use all unknowns. Because right now I'd just see Dakota Fanning as herself and could never have my mind accept that she's Rachel.
And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

None of those people have Rachel's "icy blue" eyes. For me that breaks any deal (sorry contacts just won't do). Then again I can't really picture anyone playing Rachel...

how's this?

fixed. sorry URL broke.

Meh, no one mentioned seems pretty enough to be Rachel for me. Dakota and that Sophia girl are just a bit...plain to me. Blond but plain. I always imagined her very striking looking, in a kinda dark way. Like the way Angelina Jolie is hot, gorgeous with a dangerous glint in her eye.  I HATED the model they used for Rachel in the later half of the series, not at all the knockout she was intended to be.
